  1. QUOTE(Wanne @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) The whole place is. Houses won't be too far from Lake Pleasant pretty soon. Hasn't rained for 5 months either!...was no snow skiing this year AT ALL! For Winnin'Ugly...nice friggin commute!...at least your house went up $100+K in a year! I would shoot myself during that drive! Can't say I feel your pain...I've worked from home the last couple of years!!! It's ok out here...too f***in hot though for TOO long! I want to move to AZ so bad. IM out there many times a year as it is. I love AZ
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 01:35 PM) JimH I havent seen you post for awhile... is this a 1 time thing or are you back for good..... Kind of missed having you around one of my favorite posters. Or maybe im blind and you never left idonno. Seriously, he has a wealth of info when it comes to away games or ST. I appreciate both Quick and Jim's comments here, that was very helpful to me especially. Except, nobody has commented on the titty bar.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 11:32 AM) If I add a little SP over the offseason and keep my #1 bullpen intact, I'll be making it out of the 1st round next year. You want Shields I want Cabrera sounds like a nice 1 for 1 deal. Shhhh, knight is here, we cant let him know about our deals.......
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 10:58 AM) If Kenny really means it that way and Cintron can play 1B, 2B, 3B and SS that leaves 0 use for Gload (though he had little value previously). Once again afirming the fact tht Gload will either be dealt or let go in the next week. on another note, I see your Angels folded to the White Sox again in Sim. Now give me shields.
  5. I wanted to just address one. I think the trade deadline will be active for us this year. After teams win the WS alot of time the next year, injuries effect the repeat performance. I believe that this may happen to us this year. Because of this, I see us making a huge move to salvage our season at the deadline.
  6. QUOTE(J-MAN @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 09:05 AM) Buffalo Wild Wings - several in the Chicago Area - we went to the one in Elmhurst - Awesome!!!!! Gross, B-dubs is overrated in the wing category. You want really great wings in chicago. Birds Nest on southport has bar none the best tasting wings ive ever had.
  7. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 10:02 AM) How exactlyl does throwing from a chair, help someone in the end?? I dont think it does help. It places more stress on the arm than needed when throwing naturally. I think rothschild just guesses at new techniques.
  8. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 01:05 AM) fixed. Maybe in bizzaro world. Here in the real world, Gload is gone.
  9. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 05:02 PM) Cut from the same cloth, we are, Rock.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 05:13 PM) I'm really not sure "Troublespot" defines our bullpen, especially given how much work we expect the starters to get this year. If the Sox have a "troublespot" it's the bullpen, but I can think of probably 28-29 teams that would like to have a troublespot like the one we have. I think the bullpen is set, and looks good. Lopez has been nothing short of impressive this ST.
  11. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 05:12 PM) Not true, he knew your rumor was total made up B.S., Rock. He got in touch with me and told me. He is not as connected as he sometimes comes across but he has sources that are better than anyone's at this site. He prints rumors, they are just that, rumors. I would say about 5% of what is actually talked about by baseball execs (rumors) actually come true. There are way too many variables from the start to finish of a trade, too many things can go wrong. Witness: Mackowiak and Cintron. KW was after both of them for a minimum of 18 months each. Jim-wet blanket
  12. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 05:06 PM) I think it was found out that that 'guy' was actually like 16 or 17 years old, a junior in high school, and living with his parents. What a dork. living in Lombard.
  13. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 05:03 PM) Rotoworld has some great contributing writers. Such as the guy from mlbtraderumors.com who had all of these insider rumors that never every panned out. Remember how one of those insider rumors was exactly like a post that someone put on this website a week before that said his father was one of the Whitesox owners. It was pretty much verbatim quote of the soxtalk thread on mlbtraderumors. The minute some of us saw that, we dismissed that site, and now I have some reservations on any site that uses that guy as a writer. Do you remember when I wrote him an email about a trade rumor we made up, and it was mentioned slightly on his site the next week? That guy is a joke.
  14. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 04:58 PM) "Bajenaru was in the running to earn a spot on the White Sox as a middle reliever, but getting Cintron for him looks like a good move. Still, it's interesting to see that the team that was so hesitant to give Tadahito Iguchi even $2.5 million per season a year ago is going to pay $1.6 million for a rather average backup." see payroll from 2005 vs Payroll 2006 or you could look at attendance from both seasons for comparison as well.
  15. I dont understand the debate about the roster. It seems pretty set from what I see. Borch gets final position player spot. Lopez is the loogy, and play ball.
  16. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 04:55 PM) Why are we talking about Alex Gonzalez anyways, hes on a different team..I do not feel like reading this entire thing? Look at the post above yours.
  17. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 04:53 PM) I like the trade aswell. I just don't think its a fleecing, which has been my stance from the start. Haha, ok then. Getting a starter caliber player, who is affordable cheap, while giving up a piece of junk off the scrap heap seems like a fleecing to me. Usually when you give someone something you werent going to use because it doesn work, and you get something that works well and is fairly new, you fleeced them.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 04:46 PM) It's not cheap, but it's not overly expensive. There's a lot of other crappier players making more money than that. I was unhappy that Timo was making a million last year, but that's just part of the baseball landscape. Cintron isn't great AT ALL, but he's much more valuable than Willie Harris was. If someone gets hurt and he fills in as the starter, he is a bargain. He is a player that could start for many other teams. When you talk about caliber, he is starter caliber. 1.6 million for a starting SS is a bargain IMO. We got this guy for scraps, and he makes our bench one of the best in the league by far. This was a great trade by KW, and he was believed to be offering more than this last year and this offseason.
  19. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 04:41 PM) 1.6 for someone of Cintron's caliber isn't cheap.. at all. How so? He is about as good as your teams starting SS, and could start for several Major league teams. Hows is he not worth a little over what Timo f***ing Perez made last year? Please enlighten me.
  20. Hey RNW. If you are such a White Sox fan, since your other team won the World Series this year, why dont you change your avatar to reflect that? I mean, 2004 was 2 years ago. Why not celebrate this year's champ?
  21. QUOTE(daa84 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 04:38 PM) i fixed that f or ya....pretty original I wondered where his big brain got that?
  22. Sorry RNW, I know you arent full of s***. You are the best baseball mind ever. Posted on: Dec 26, 2004 -> 10:33 PM "First off Vizcaino is better than Politte...Hermanson too..." One of many where you were spot on.
  23. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 04:30 PM) Gotta love that .687 OPS! That's Neifi Perez territory!
  24. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 04:27 PM) Why is Cintron making $1.6 million considered hefty, but the Red Sox signing a guy with a .319 obp last year, who dipped to 5 homers from 23, perhaps from a lack of special vitamins for $3 million a solid signing? Guys like Gonzalez are going to soon make ticket prices at Fenway even more ridiculous than they are now. His career OBP is under .300 too.
