  1. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) This doesn't seem harmless to me. Putting toothpaste in the soda is harmless. Putting hot sauce in the soda is harmless. Putting Viagra or any other drug in the soda is not harmless. ^^^^^^^^^^ I agree with this. But when we were in school, we never would have thought to use viagra or anything of the like. I would have spit in his drink.
  2. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) I have seen a steady flow of people, packed sidewalk to sidewalk on Adams for two hours straight. They must be doing a lap. There is no way that is one long line. They stretched from Michigan ave to the river. my office view is down the whole street.
  3. QUOTE(zach61 @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) But it should be illegal if he doesn't report them to the authorities. It's not about not treating them, it's about not telling someone they are illegally here. No, its going to be a felony for a doctor to treat the patient. Which is a violation of the oath they take. The law is pretty extreme IMO. Most of these people make your daily life the way it is. The place you eat for lunch, the bathroom you use during the day, even the sidewalks you walk on. Everyone here should go and watch "A Day Without a Mexican" Its a great movie to watch the real impact of immigrants on our society.
  4. QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 03:44 PM) no, that was the worst post in this thread. that blind go-team-go attitude, to the point of completely forgetting the contributors you rooted for in 05...it's just embarassing to read. welcome to the world of professional sports.
  5. widge said the HR off Haeger was his fault for calling a fastball./
  6. it looks to me like cotts is coming more over the top than last year.
  7. does it look like Cotts changed his arm angle to anyone?
  8. Gooch thought that was a bomb, he flipped his bat
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 03:33 PM) First time seeing Haeger on the mound. There's been some bad luck hits, but he has a long way to go to refine his knuckler before he can pitch at the big league level. Oh yeah, he isnt ready yet. He hasnt thrown the pitch long enough to be consistent. I can see some potential there though.
  10. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) It already is illegal to hire undocumented workers. It shouldnt be illegal for a doctor to treat them if they get injured at that job though.
  11. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 02:11 PM) Yessir. cool im at adams and wacker, crazy.
  12. Haegers knuckler is either amazing, or a softball pitch.
  13. QUOTE(Felix @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) Even when he strikes out? yes, even the pitches he takes or swings at, he looks like he knows exactly what it was.
  14. fields swing looks more compact than previously
  15. Dye "come on big jim!!!" as thome scores Coop "bobby is big and thick all over" me:
  16. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) Plenty going down Madison as well. Still a big flow of them. Traffic stopped for them at Wacker. you at madison and wacker?
  17. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 01:37 PM) I won't argue that point. But then again, I reiterate that it's not easy and that parents have to learn how to parent. Even though you apparently do, I want to express to you to be sure and 'count your blessings'. Sounds like you have a wonderful set of parents ... as do I. I know those blessings well enough as I have been close to many people who werent in my situation. I really have alot of admiration for good parents in general. It takes alot of work to raise a child, and even more to raise it well.
  18. They now switched to adams from jackson, and still just as many people.
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 10:40 AM) Coming off an injury-plagued season with the contract renegotiation he signed just before the season after a "Next Question" inspired holdout...I think Walker isn't a smart investment right now. If he's 100% healthy, he'll earn his money, but he sure won't be a bargain, and if he's not 100%, he won't earn it. I personally think that Brett Favre kinda threw him under the bus last offseason and made him look like a worse guy than he is. Also Waker said that now its impossible for him to live and play in Green Bay because Favre fans hate Walker now.
  20. they are walking right by my building, unreal. The mexican-american population in chicago is making an impressive show.
  21. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) I'll agree with you here, but with qualifiers. Back in the 50's the father worked and the mother stayed home to raise the kids. Currently, it takes two incomes to ... how should I put this ... To achieve the level of financial independance that most people strive for. Now, you have to weigh certain things here. Does 'financial independance' mean you get to go to Europe every other year ... does it mean you get to but your Sox season tickets ... or does it mean that you are busting your ass to put your kids through a good college? Where do you draw the line that decides whether you are giving your kids anough 'nuturing' or are your priorities to give your kid a chance to achieve and excel in life? There is no 'right way' to do things as you don't know what the future will bring. There are too many variables in this equation. Both of my parents worked, yet I still feel they spent a large amount of their free time with me and my sister. I feel they did a great job rasing me and making me a successful person. I still think that you can both work, and still have time to instill values and raise your kids correctly. But thats just my opinion.
