  1. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 07:00 PM) I have a buddy who grew up in Georgia and played football at Ohio. He said he hated how all the OU students only cared about Ohio St football. He wasn't ready for that. Probably 2 thousand fans in our stands and 15k at the bars watching the Buckeyes.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 10:52 AM) Rock will love this one. http://sportsmockery.com/2014/08/ohio-stat...best-fan-bases/ Also the link to the full article http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/...buckeyes-100113 Citing Clay Travis immediately makes it not click worthy. Guy is a certified troll, worse than Marriotti and Cowley combined.
  3. Ohio State is THE most popular sports team in Ohio. Being that you are all from Illinois you have no idea what its like. Its as if the Cubs, Sox, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks combined to form one team. Thats what it's like. You dont get a browns or bengals onesie when you are a baby, you get a Buckeye outfit. College teams in Illinois arent even in the same stratosphere in popularity. I was given my first OSU jersey at age 2. People dont need to go there to be fans, we all grew up watching them on saturdays rooting for them, because its literally life in Ohio. When I was at Miami I watched every OSU game on saturday with literally no consideration for the Redhawks.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 10:57 AM) 81/82 is what I saw. They said he wasnt throwing his hardest, he said he has 10 MPH left in that arm .
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 10:31 AM) I take my watch off every night, but I never charge it and I never wind it, nor do I want too. And when I'm on the road, I don't want to have to take ANOTHER charger with me for another device that can't last a week or two. I'm also not a smartwatch person...I wear a real watch, one that tells time with or without electricity. If I am wearing a watch its probably for fashion over function anyway.
  6. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 09:58 AM) Aren't the days of caring how long a phone lasts over? You can buy Mophie juice packs (or others) that are basically like adding a case to your phone and they add a 2100mah battery in addition to whatever's in your phone already. For people that insist on using a case on their phone, they're nearly no brainers. I still won't use a case on my phones, but I have chargers everywhere. I've never once run out of juice. Depends how much you talk on your phone or travel. Go into an airport and look at the business folks huddled around an outlet. Talking on the phone drains the s*** out of it.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 10:22 AM) Yes, because of being out scored 32-3 the last 2 games, the White Sox are now +2 from where they are supposed to be on the season using that formula. Thats Ozzie Guillen territory!!!!
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 09:10 AM) I don't think there's anything wrong with stating that Baez has the look of a boom or bust prospect, but he will definitely be given every chance to prove himself. I think of a guy like Chris Carter, who also put up really good numbers in the minors but had better walk and strikeout rates. He's also a 1B, but he's been incredibly mediocre as a pro. He's the very definition of boom or bust. 1-6 with 3k's and a HR isnt going to keep you in the majors. He has to show pitch recognition and the ability to get on base.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 11:46 PM) Well, 0-5 with 3 K and then he crushed a homer....sounds about right Josh Fields-esqe
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 08:36 PM) That comp has been around for the last two years, as they compare the bat speed. That's high praise.
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 06:03 PM) Javascript blocker killed that popup for me Rock Genius.
  12. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 02:09 PM) Isn't pay for me, and I don't have any sort of subscription. The trib online site always hits a pop up and tries to make me pay for premium content, I hate that s***.
  13. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 01:14 PM) It's not sending a message to the team. It's sending a message to Bennett, plain and simple. His act reached a point where it needed to be addressed. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0805-story.html Dont link pay articles jerkface
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 12:22 PM) So what if he hasn't done it in a game. He bodyslammed his teammate, a guy the Bears need. What if he fractured his clavicle? The boys will be boys defense wouldn't work. Putting an end to it before something like that happens is the goal. Because if you read the thread the worry was it would carry over to penalties in a game of which I responded he has no history of it. It was part of a conversation than lasted more than one post.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 11:33 AM) Bennett? Kyrie, Love and Lebron are all better than any player on the Bulls and are better than any player will ever be. Also the reason they are the favorites is because of Kyrie and Love. Once the Wiggins pipe dream ended they had to hook their craziness to another star.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 11:21 AM) Comcast SportsNet ‏@CSNChicago 2h The Cavs and Wolves reportedly have a "handshake agreement" for Kevin Love trade (@markstrot) http://bit.ly/1oaX0xY And it includes Wiggins. Shocker. I spent 2 hours arguing with Cavs fans yesterday on their ridiculous theory that their top three players are better than the Bulls best player.
  17. QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 11:20 AM) Maybe he hasnt gone to that extreme yet but the coaches are obviously worried enough about it to punish him and they know more about the situation than we do. They punished him not Fuller so they are worried about something with him. Or its easier to send a message to the team that even a respected Vet can be punished for behavior they dont think fits a contending team. Theories abound even with the hard evidence he's never done that in a game, ever.
  18. Love the twitter updates: Shea McMuffin drops a "sure interception" replies are all on how he should be waived.
  19. Actual quote without the media adding their own opinion
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 11:07 AM) When you practice like that, you play like that. Yet he has no history of playing like that in a game. Hmmmm.
  21. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 09:26 AM) If you don't like the comic book movies coming out now, you will never like them. They have been for the most part, pretty entertaining. Especially in 3D and in a theater
  22. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 10:54 AM) Yea there have been rumors since last year that he rubs teammates the wrong way with his "sense of humor." I doubt he's very well liked with some, if not most of his teammates, but he produces so I'm sure they deal with it. I was more impressed with Cutler pulling the rookie Fuller to the side and telling him not to worry about it. That kind of stuff you didn't see with Jay 3-4 years ago. Best part of the video, nobody is running with that story since it doesnt jive with the media perception of Cutler.
