  1. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 30, 2011 -> 03:34 AM) I dont care about the officiating, the Illini f***ing suck and its on the coaching staff. End of story you f***ing p*****s, enjoy your 3rd tier bowl, and way to f***ing get my hopes up senior year. They did get jobbed though, there was no stopping OldPa from getting his longevity record. PSU in a BCS bowl would once again make the conference look awful. And my boys are back in it. I didnt think they had enough offensively, but apparently Braxton is coming into his own. Just an awesome game, especially since every recruit was there as well.
  2. Cubs is pretty accurate there. They havent won a playoff game since 2003. The Hawks, I think, have been very good spenders outside of Campbell.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 01:40 PM) Nope, if my memory is correct, Cliff P. got the 8th in game 2. Bagwell led off the 9th against Jenks in game 2 with a blooper that, SHOCKINGLY, Rowand misplayed. Ah yes. Game one was "The best pure power in the major leagues comes from the right arm of Bobby Jenks" or something like that. Funny because I was actually at game 2. Neal got out of a jam in game 2 with 2 k's.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 01:28 PM) I agree, that was the first episode in awhile that was legitimately good. When Mac tried to flip the board over I almost lost my s***.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 01:35 PM) Are you combining game 1 and 2? Jenks struck out Bagwell in game 1 Didnt he also do that in game 2 in the 8th inning and then blow it in the 9th? Maybe I am blurring it a bit.

I really liked Always Sunny last night. The game of games was pretty good.
  7. It was a very good game last night, one of the best ever. But for me, 2005 game 2 is THE best non-clinching game I have ever seen. Back and forth, epic strike outs of a future hall of famer by both Neal Cotts and rookie sensation Bobby Jenks, the ridiculous grand slam on the first pitch by Konerko and then the unlikely walk off bomb by a slap hitting lead-off man. Man that s*** was good.
  8. Moving on to my panel interview for the feds
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 12:18 PM) McGary could go to Manchester College and still be a first round pick next year. The biggest thing is he is buddies with someone going there next year. Glenn Robinson III and him have played in the same leagues and tournaments forever. Ah, that makes sense then, I must have missed that above. I guess if I was a top player at my position I would want to go to a school that is going to win so I can showcase my talents late in the year.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) McGary isn't a back to the basket center. He'd fit well up at Michigan with his game. UM is the one school that doesnt fit in the conversation though. Florida has produced some NBA players lately and won national titles. Duke is a perennial powerhouse that wins and produces every year. Michigan-just happy to make the big dance. They are also nowhere to be found on the top 25 recruiting list. It just doesnt compute with me if he is truly a top player in the country why Michigan would be the favorite for him to flourish. Is there something I am missing? Also, ESPN finally put up the Big Ten preview on their CBB page including blue ribbon analysis. I really hope Hummel makes it through this year without tearing his knee up again.
  11. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 08:08 AM) If we wants to grow as a player in college at all he'll choose Michigan or Florida. Duke just does not produce big men. Still think he should have given UConn more thought What big men does Michigan produce? If he wants to win he would go to Duke or Florida, UM was just happy to be in the tourney. As of right now UCONN isnt going to be eligible to play in the 2013 tourney due to academics so thats not a good choice either.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 03:39 PM) Oh and Blue Mountain State is a great show, wish I knew about it earlier but I watched the first season on Netflix in less than a week. Disappointed they got rid of Shilow (sp?) for the 2nd season, but Radon seems to be a hilarious character. Radon is awesome, but Thad carries the show.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 03:04 PM) Haven't seen the documentary yet but ESPN through out the years has done a ton of pieces on Wepner. I took a few things away from it: 1. Stallone looks incredibly bad in how he handled this 2. Jersey girls were way hotter back then.
  15. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 12:10 PM) I guess Julian from Trailer Park Boys even though I really hate halloween. My least favorite holiday. The only upside is girls dressed like whores.
  16. interesting stat correlating recruiting with winning titles: In the Past 9 years from 2002 to 2011 here are the top 21 teams ranked by how many top 100 signings they had: 1. Duke (34) 2. North Carolina (30) T-3. Kansas (27) T-3. Kentucky (27) T-5. Arizona (25) T-5. Connecticut (25) T-5. Florida (25) T-5. Syracuse (25) T-9. Louisville (24) T-9. Texas (24) T-9. UCLA (24) T-12. Memphis (23) T-12. Michigan State (23) T-12. Ohio State (23) T-15. Florida State (20) T-15. Illinois (20) 17. Villanova (19) 18. Georgetown (18) T-19. Alabama (17) T-19. Georgia Tech (17) T-19. Indiana (17) The top 8 teams on the list have won the last 9 championships. If you look at all 21 teams, 17 made at least one Final Four between 2003 and 2011, and the group is responsible for 28 of the 36 Final Four slots in those years. The question is, does top 100 recruiting guarantee success or does success guarantee top 100 recruiting?
  17. I got that framed photo of the tribune for xmas and got really choked up about it.
  18. Yeah, kind of a good move to just finish it thurs and friday.

Anyone see the "Real Rocky" on ESPN? Awesome show. Sly came off like a douchebag.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 12:28 PM) And then Marty34 blamed it on Kenny Williams.
  22. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 09:04 AM) Although I think Ryno will eventually become the manager, I think the Cubs brass will kinda "milk the time" sorta speak. I'm not sure the feeling is mutual though. He could be the manager in waiting for the Phils or actually go to a team that has a chance of winning. The Cubs kind of thumbed their noses at him last offseason.
  23. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 09:32 AM) I wonder if it will get to the point where games like Battlefield and Call of Duty will even have a campaign. I mean how many times can Russians take over the world? You play the campaign once for about 3-5 hours and than play mulitplayer for months. Why even have a campaign. Black Ops campaign was pretty awesome. Escaping from the Russian prison was cool as hell.
  24. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 08:30 AM) After a hit on Selanne he engaged with him, kept chirping him well behind the play like he wanted him to fight. Then kept getting into it on the benches with Parros and Getzlaf when they didn't like it for obvious reasons. Were you at the game? I didnt see it that way at all. I saw Carcillo hit him and then Selanne whack him with his stick while chriping at Carcillo. They then got towards the bench that was already yelling at Car Bomb and he sat right int he first seat and game it right back to them. It was a great hit on a guy that was killing us all game and nobody on the ice did s***.
