QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 07:11 PM) wrong. Campbell hit on Umberger. Obviously I wasnt being completely accurate. The one thing I really like about the team this year is that they stand up for teammates and themselves. Last year they just let guys get rocked.

They showed ILL's pre season game onBTN today. That Griffey kid looks pretty good. -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 01:39 PM) I hope Campbell ruthlessly slams Carcillo through the glass tonight. That would be the first time Campbell ever hit anyone.

Hmmm Red Sox or Cubs, which one would be the preference for a candidate. If I was up for all three, I would pick the Cards hands down. And I had this conversation with a Cubs fan last night. If the Cubs were to win a WS, it wouldnt be under this manager, I think the first guy is gone within 3 years and then they start winning a bit.

QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 12:54 PM) No way, it's been about a month since we thought we had a real shot. Both his parents graduated from Purdue, with his mom being an All American guard on their womens team. Couple that with IU already using the oversign by signing 5 guys next week, there's just too much working agianst them. Still, IU pulls in a top 5 class with 2 five star players. Nothing to be ashamed of. Yeah, but the GH threads were all over your scout board since then even though there really wasnt much room for the guy. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 12:41 PM) Well whatever it is, the team has come out of camp the last 2 years looking like absolute garbage, to the point that April has legitimately destroyed 2 seasons. So if they're running a great camp...maybe we need to try a terrible camp. I'm only half joking. I'm not joking. This team has lacked core fundamentals coming out of camp each year.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 10:49 AM) Exactly, and it's too bad he's being put into one of the coaching positions that's considered less useful than all others but first base coach. Its considered that way because of who people have been hiring for that spot. Many managers coached bases and had influence on their teams. He will still be in the clubhouse working with the players day to day.

I hope Carcillo firmly plants Campbell into the board tonight.

Something is seriously wrong with ESPN interviewing Carson Tinker about the death of his gf, especially when they then cut to hockey highlights. -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 12:55 AM) lol WHy is that funny? Apparently you know nothing about his pedigree in coaching. He is by far one of the best managerial candidates coming out of the minors in all of baseball.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 10:33 PM) Lol, can we just get Coxsy back? At least he was very entertaining. No please, McEwing is very valuable to this team next season.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 06:46 PM) Up until the M brothers fell apart the Twins would have to be in that discussion as well. Yeah, but they havent won any titles.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 07:00 PM) IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE CUBS JUST PICKED UP THE BEST GM IN HISTORY OR NOT. THE FACT IS THAT THEY HAVE DRASTICALLY IMPROVED. PERIOD. NOT UP FOR DEBATE. No, thats definitely not true. Their roster has actually taken a step backwards and may actually be worse than last year. The players are the ones that actually have a direct effect on the record of the ballclub. As of right now, they arent as good as the s***ty team they had last year.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 06:06 PM) 2nd biggest payroll or not he's been head of the best organization in baseball since his arrival, that's the fascination. Depends, one could argue the Cardinals have been the best. Of course doing the most with the least has been the Rays. So what qualifies as the best?

FIrst of all, Project X is about teaching monkeys how to fly airplanes so we can attack during a nuclear event. Second, I always feel bad about wanting to bang the girls in HS movies, but then I realize that most girls in HS movies are actually 23 and up

I dont think its a system of ranking players in the lineup as much as its ranking a player against himself based on that number. The goal is to maximize each players output based on his production.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 03:52 PM) Yeah, this is kind of a big deal. The Cubs just went from an archaic, joke of a front office to a big boy, modern organization run by people who know what the f*** they're doing. It's the biggest story in the city right now. The past month or so has been a f***ing nightmare given the moves on both sides of town and it's probably only going to get worse in the years to come. Well, if you are talking about Hendry, then that might be true, but they've had VERY capable people in that chair previous like McPhail.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 03:41 PM) Definitely a great thing to have in your back pocket, just will probably be a tough thing to get through, but who said the climb to the 1% would be easy? So I understand, the 1% are people with jobs right? Did anyone see the guy rain down McDonalds apps on the protestors at CBOT yesterday?

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 04:02 PM) Agreed. How can they even get away with that? Looks like a tradition considering they all are cleaning up what they threw and there are already recycling bins lined up. So weird. -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 03:22 PM) Kinda surprised Illinois has around 20. Pretty good for the 2nd or 3rd worst team in the league the last decade. They've had talent in that time frame, just not a ton of results. The team that went to the Rose bowl a few years ago has a few on that list. -

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 02:51 PM) Jekins would be a below avg 2 wr, but yeah he is ok besides him though osu wr's are crap. Kind of weird a school with constant top recruits has less starter quality wr's tan a bottom feeder like the illini. They dont recruit that position all that well until recently. (And I hope besides him excluded Santonio). ILL has Benn and Brandon Lloyd in the NFL. They really put alot of defensive guys in the NFL and some lineman but thats about it. Total count is 47 active players, tops in the Big Ten. However you'll see a school like Iowa that doesnt recruit all that well comes up pretty close with a bunch of NFL'ers. http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/2011/0...ve-rosters.html http://espn.go.com/nfl/college/_/letter/o Looking back on that ESPN list I dont know who you would call WR U from the conference. Maybe MSU? -
There is no way they sign Buehrle. He wouldnt sign there and anything they would sign him for the Sox would be able to match.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 02:20 PM) I do think Jenkins and Gonzalez are total crap, and I really liked Gonzalez. You also failed to Ted Ginn, who has been a monstrosity of a bust thus far. I think by "pretty good" you mean "talented with some sort of major flaw in their game." I dont consider Ginn a WR. He's a KR/PR that was drafted WAYYYYYY too high. Jenkins has been a pretty solid 2-3 WR in the NFL for years and Gonzalez was good until he broke in half. The post that was funny was "is this another white OSU receiver" when really Dane is the only one. -
unless something drastically changes I am willing to admit I was very wrong on Carcillo. I guess Q and Bowman were able to squeeze only the good stuff out of him so far.
