QUOTE (Brian @ May 17, 2011 -> 07:00 PM) I don't think Michigan would beat UNC but it would be a fun match up. GOnna be tough without your best player. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 17, 2011 -> 07:51 PM) In one of the worst drafts in recent memory Yeah they really picked the wrong draft to get 2 top 5 picks. I knew the T'Wolves werent going to get the first pick.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 17, 2011 -> 05:55 PM) No, I think you're being hopeful. Your only basis for your belief that they will turn it around is that there's time. The issue is they still havent played well.
-
Anyone see this?
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2011 -> 05:40 PM) Let me put it this way...I generally think Milkman is way too over the edge and generally disagree with him, and when a person says "There's still lots of time left"...it puts me on Milkman's side. I'm there too. We are behind the 8-ball and the only bit of optimism we had was a 6-3 road trip where our offense still sucked.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 17, 2011 -> 05:25 PM) It's not the move itself. The hilariousness of "All In" just got more pronounced. If you want to look at an organization that's truly "All In," it's the Royals, who are taking a shot this year even though it might end up costing them ten of millions with Hosmer. Viciedo is a sunk cost. We're already committed to paying him $10 million plus. And it's not like we didn't see him have the ability to hit last year. He was pretty much signed TO HIT, with that as his #1 skill. Yet somehow, when we're going up against teams like TEX, CLE, the Dodgers, then hit the road against Texas, Toronto and Boston, we're supposed to be inspired that Dallas McPherson will actually contribute something positive??? It's predictable, but it sucks and I have a feeling we'll be wondering months or years from now if bringing up Viciedo earlier could have sparked the White Sox offense instead of going down in flames with the veteran Pierre. QFT. If your offense has been as stagnent as ours has, even during a good road trip, why not look within your organization for some spark? You have a good young hitter that has already proven he can hit MLB pitching just sitting in the minors.
-
How about since the offense blows we bring up our best young bat in the minors? Or we could "stay the course" and continue to be "All in."

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 17, 2011 -> 05:09 PM) The next ST gathering should be in Vegas, following the Bulls and Sox winning championships. Steve might just die at Tao Beach or Rehab. Shack will put us all up on his living room floor. Then we can hang with his stripper neighbor

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 17, 2011 -> 05:07 PM) Palazzo is nice. Is Palazzo pretty much all suites like Venetian? Yeah, its the All-suites version of the Venetian, slightly larger rooms with the sunken living room and pull out couch. It has a smaller casino.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 17, 2011 -> 04:41 PM) I agree. They don't have other revenue to generate from outside business so they will need the Kings to do well. But that place was rocking and that franchise was successful not so long ago. Pretty sad how quickly they've fallen apart. But I do think the Maloofs should get some credit for being real great owners when they had funds. I think there hotel has improved a bit as the Vegas economy and travel industry has picked up, but that area is so tough, with constant competition and new hotels. For pete sakes, next weekend, which is a huge travel weekend, I'm staying at a suite in the Venetian for $100 per night. I still have no idea how I pulled that kind of deal. Those rooms should be going for a few hundred a night on a holiday weekend. They built another tower at the palms for some reason. There are simply too many new hotels to go around especially with the city center now open with 4 new hotels. I stayed at the Palazzo for less than 200 a few weeks ago.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 17, 2011 -> 04:32 PM) He also had a hot girlfriend Lisa Cardinelli, who was Sam on ER. I found her the hottest in Grandma's boy.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ May 17, 2011 -> 04:11 PM) This. Marshall is by far the best part of the show. I pretty much enjoy everything he is in. Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared etc.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 17, 2011 -> 02:52 PM) I never got the love for How I Met Your Mother. In the episodes I've seen, I didn't find it funny at all. With the added problem of them constantly teasing who the mom is but never revealing it and dragging it on forever, I don't know how people deal with it. I watch it mostly because Jason Segal is hilarious.
-
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ May 17, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) yuck. huh? Even the players were quoted saying how much they loved it.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ May 17, 2011 -> 02:33 PM) Those small tanks don't last long, and then have to be refilled or tossed, both of which are annoying to have to do constantly. Exactly why I think charcoal is the best option there. And to add on to my cooking last night. I stored my excess chicken in a little of its stock with some southwest seasoning overnight and for lunch I threw it in a skillet with about a teaspoon of water to break it up a bit and then made it into a BBQ chicken sandwich by adding sweet baby ray's sweet n spicy and some homemade cole slaw. Awesome.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 17, 2011 -> 02:36 PM) I wouldnt say no shot because Ive seen far more unlikely things occur in basketball than a solid program getting lucky at UNC. But its a very small shot, and it involves a lot of things having to go Wisconsin's way, including UNC developing some sort of flu. The problem is that it is at UNC, which hurts Wisconsin a ton. If they got the home court and were able to use their bball which no other team uses, they'd have an ok shot. -
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 17, 2011 -> 01:56 PM) I've used a Smokey Joe before, loved it. I would definitely pay the few extra bucks for that compared to a offbrand one (when the difference may be $5, I won't care). It'll vary between 1 and a max of 8 on certain occasions, but mostly between 1-4 people, and 75% of the time probably for 2. Im thinking that since Im not on the common area floor and that storage may be more difficult, that a propane grill may make mroe sense especially if Im just cooking for myself and want an easier startup (or less time between start up and cool down). At the same time, Im very comfortable with charcoal grills and have had great success grilling with them in the past. They have those little camping stoves that work off of small propane tanks and are pretty cheap. Those small tanks are only a couple of bucks each.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 17, 2011 -> 09:52 AM) Im looking to buy a grill for my apartment on campus next year, problem is my apartment doesn't have a balcony. We are in a building with a large common area in the middle where I don't think they really allow grilling but everyone does anyways. That said, I think a small/portable propane grill may be the smarter way to go, like the weber q100, but not sure on costs of propane compared to charcoal (for usage). I was originally thinking of getting one of those small Weber Smokey Joes. I will be grilling quite a bit, especially when its warm out. I have always used charcoal and actually have never used propane, so any suggestions or ideas are welcome. Remember, this is a college budget . Depends how many people you are cooking for as well. In college I went with charcoal just because it was cheaper and we have plenty of time in the summer when I was still in school. I just went to the local wal mart and bought a POS cheap charcoal grill and it worked pretty great.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 17, 2011 -> 12:42 PM) And I'm not saying that is what it ultimately takes. But those close to Howard indicate he wants to go to Chicago or LA. Many think LA is a huge favorite since they should be able to create cap space to sign him outright as a FA. It all comes down to how scared does Orlando get and how much of an ass can Dwight become. Personally, If I were Orlando, I'd do what I could to win a title next year cause that might just help you save Dwight. If I am Orlando I am holding onto Dwight until I get a package of young players and a TON of draft picks in the 2012 drafts and beyond. I dont like the prospect of needing to trade him for another Big man either since that guy wont feel his shoes anyway. You get best players offered regardless of position and team and collect as many picks as you can. There are a few decent players coming up through HS and college that MAY be able to help you out down the road, you never know if an Anthony Davis or someone could be the next Durant or Melo.

Chicago White Sox vs. Texas Rangers

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 16, 2011 -> 10:16 PM) Oh cmon. Rios is not a good baseball hitter. He's proven that already in a Sox uniform. He may have talent, but his eyes are s***. He will never realize his full physical potential because he cannot recognize pitches and react to them. -
QUOTE (daa84 @ May 16, 2011 -> 08:12 PM) wish i would have seen this thread earlier, but it looks like you got the weber 320 anyways...i bought the 320 (or some variation on it....maybe was the 300 that doesnt have the light on the handle) last year...absolutely love it....was the perfect grill for me. small enough for my apt, big enough to do some serious cooking still, portable enough to move around easily. my parents have a weber summit, which as was said before is absurd- it gets up to 700 F quickly. I get my q320 up to 450-500 after a good while, but i love the cast iron grates - gives a tremendous sear. The only one downside i've seen so far is that when its really windy, it must have too high of airflow cuz the flame really is depressed by the wind. Still, I'd recommend it to any and everyone Yeah, its been awesome, can hit 600 really fast and the cast iron grates sealed the deal for me. I made unreal beer can chicken on it today and it held 325 for over an hour consistently. Awesome so far.
