  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 08:23 PM) Rock, Wisconsin is going to play a slow tempo against OSU. Im sure as you know this entirely because of OSU and has nothing to do with Wisconsin's normally fast break up tempo oriented style of play. If i was Bo, i wouldn't stray from their run and gun offense. Just for reference, UM held OSU way under their avg FGA tonight, NU held them to their lowest ever under Matta. It's not random that opposing teams are taking the air out of the ball, it's a way for less talented teams to try and keep it close. A team like your badgers at home are just looking to play their game.
  2. QUOTE (TomPickle @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 08:03 PM) So fouling a guy that's terrible at shooting free throws that you don't have the size to defend is dirty. Gotcha. Every player is terrible, and that's why they hacked and pushed off all game? I honestly didn't know that. If you are referring to the endless beating on Sullinger, he's been about a 75 percent free throw shooter all year i wouldn't call that terrible. Anyone who has talked about OSU in the past month has talked about playing them slow and physical, it's not exactly a mystery. The good news is that Michigan still sucks.
  3. QUOTE (TomPickle @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 07:57 PM) Michigan's gameplan against everyone is to play slow. Dirty? Seriously? GMAFB. You can have a break if you want one, no need to swear. And yes, that's what every team in conference has tried to do, limit OSUs possessions and send them to the line with physical play. It only takes watching a game to figure that out. Haha matta and the espn commentators just said the same thing.
  4. Second best start in OSU history. And michigan still sucks.
  5. I hate that the game plan to try and beat OSU is to play slow and dirty. It makes for a boring and frustrating game. I think teams outside the conference will try to run a bit more.
  6. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 11:38 AM) I thought Wynn was a speedy slot receiver? Said he was the most explosive player in Ohio and OSU showed major interest, but got their man elsewhere. I have a feeling Wilson is going to get IU football on the map. IU is shelling out more cash than just about every team in the country on their athletics, its quite incredible. Saw we now have the largest weight room in the country. It'll be nice to actually look forward to football season. Purdue is quickly turning into the doormat program. I can't find one person that likes Danny Hope. Duh, not sure why i typed QB. Wynn is the real deal, a top talent out of Ohio.
  7. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 01:10 PM) As a Wisconsin fan Im extremely leery of recruiting stars and all that jazz. I started following it pretty closely back in the day and realized that stars dont always tell the whole story. Josh Ogelsby is one of the highest rated recruits Wisconsin has gotten, yet he has been a pretty big disappointment. Conversely JJ Watt was a walk on from CMU who earned a scholarship and may go in the first round of the draft this year. Its good fun though, especially when there isnt a game for another 6 months. Its pretty biased towards the south, but then again they have sports year round. Its good for the overall picture, but the star ratings are just guesses. You'll see players commit to schools and drop a star based on who they chose.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 2, 2011 -> 08:11 PM) If I have some money left out of the tax return this year, I am going to look for a clearence model at the end of this season. Smart move, if there are any left. Chicago was cleaned out of them by wednesday.
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 10:02 AM) Per Cy's dad as of last night: "He's deciding between Alabama, Auburn and even Iowa," Jean Claude Kouandjio said. "It may even come back to Iowa. He's considering his options even more now. Those three (schools) have been floating in his mind" Iowa has 2 of his teammates from this year already signed to their LOI's plus a teammate of his last year (Freshman RB Coker). Add in the best oline coach in the country (our head coach, haha) and there are definitely some reasons why Cy might change his mind to the tunes of black and gold!!! That would be awesome for Iowa. I saw IU pulled in a great QB in Shane Wynn. Overall not a great day for the Big Ten though. As conference rankings go, the ones outside the SEC get pretty much the same number of top 100 guys, I just think the conference pulled in alot of guys below that.
  10. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Feb 2, 2011 -> 10:10 PM) I was a little disappointed we went 1 for 3 today on recruits still on our board, but I'll take the #12 class according to Rivals (and let's be real, Rivals is by far the best at this). I prefer scout for football and rivals for bball. They are all pretty biased either way. I think maxpreps has ND at number 1.
  11. p**** storm. Although it allowed me to go to Girl and the Goat with no issue tonight as well as drive to a few bars. Thank you blizzard.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 31, 2011 -> 07:08 PM) When I take my dog outside my subdivision I definitely pick it up but while in my subdivision, I rarely pick it up because nobody else does and they don't care so why should I? And it sucks having an 8 month old puppy who still goes after it like it is food. Can't wait for him to grow out of that because when there is no snow on the ground I always have to look 10 feet ahead in anticipation of him running after it. Easier to spot in the snow. Keep in mind our dogs s*** on sidewalks, mo grass here.
  13. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 31, 2011 -> 04:35 PM) When you all clean up your dog crap, I will use pet friendly salt. Ugh, what a huge pet peeve of mine too. Its really not that hard to pick up your dog's s***, in fact there are alot worse things during dog ownership than that. I especially hate people who just leave it there because there is snow. Guess what, snow melts, and your dog s*** is still there.
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 31, 2011 -> 04:22 PM) I never paid attention to the type of salt I buy and I don't mean this to be a jerk, but I'm not going to spend extra money for YOUR dog. If someone has a problem with the salt someone else uses, they can get a yard. A lot of us that live in condo buildings don't have that option though. It's really nice of buidling Mgmt companies to use pet friendly salt here in the west loop as the population of pets that walk our sidewalks is pretty high. I will say I really appreciate it.
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 31, 2011 -> 02:55 PM) I'l admit ignorance here... what makes salt pet friendly? What is the negative impact of the stuff that isn't? My dogs feet with crack and bleed all over and she'll then lick the wound and ingest the salt. Think of how painful it would ne if you stuck your foot in salt until it cracked and bled. Ouch.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 31, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) Even though I created this category, knowing I'll use it over the next 2.5 months or so I did just run and pick up an extra shovel and 3 bags of salt. Just in case. Pet friendly salt I hope???
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 31, 2011 -> 12:28 PM) The difference between us and Chicago? We have two of those 16"+already in the last month and a half. The lake just dumps snow on you. Alot of people dont understand how much SW Mich and NE indiana gets crapped on by snow.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 31, 2011 -> 08:46 AM) Spartand needed OT to get past Indiana by one point in East Lansing. Has Crean figured something out or are the Illini & Spartans just that bad right now? Its conference basketball, all rankings are thrown out the door. MSU is definitely not what people thought they would be, but the conference as a whole is still #2 in RPI. They are just beating up on each other like always.
  19. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jan 31, 2011 -> 11:44 AM) I don't have that much to enter but I use TurboTax and it took me about 15 minutes. Would've taken 10 if I had paid the $20 to have it transfer over last years info. The exemptions is what takes f***ing forever. I spend about half a day to a day working through it on H&R block's site. I usually use some of it to pay off my yearly May Mexico vacation.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 30, 2011 -> 08:27 PM) In 2004, I felt the same thing about Ben Gordon, then I watched that team force the ball to him game after game, and realized...you're so much better off if you run the offense. If the offense regularly runs through Kobe Bryant, then you run that offense. Run a play, and convince him to give the ball up if needed. There's a reason why Jordan didn't hit the last second shot until title 6. If I have a great post player that can shoot free throws, im going inside. Either they wont call a foul and he can bowl over the defender, you'll get 2 shots, or an and-1.
  21. Im excited to see how much snow we have on the ground in SW Michigan when I go up there in a few weeks. Im guessing 3ft+
  22. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jan 30, 2011 -> 12:54 PM) what have you been dealing with as far as mainframe? Theres been alot of movement in the industry to get off of the mainframe since the workforce is getting extremely old and its hard to find talent with that skillset. However I believe that the mainframe is an extremely cost effective and powerful platform if you run it the right way. There are several platforms now that allow a new person to learn the mainframe because you make it look alot like open systems instead of green screen. I've worked with many companies to both insource and update their mainframe systems so that they can rely on it for a majority of their centralized processing. I feel like the virtualization movements with distributed platforms really make all those boxes look like a giant mainframe which is exactly what those people tried to move away from in the first place.
  23. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 30, 2011 -> 01:29 PM) I wasn't judging him on one game, but the destination is the NBA. He's gone after this year so college isn't very important to him in the long run. He has a long way to go to be a top NBA player, which is common for a freshman obviously. I would be worried if I was taking him in the top five though. He's actually said he's staying for 2 years. And not alot of NBA scouts or execs would agree with you that he is a question mark in the top five. He is probably one of the most if not the most polished post player in college basketball.
