  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 10, 2011 -> 11:51 AM) I read the story from ESPN, so I missed that "Anywhere" quote. I'll agree that if you do say something like that, you can't turn down Wisconsin's offer. But since then, they have joined the BCS and beat the Badgers in the Rose Bowl, so they are in a different position than they were 2-3 months ago. If Wisconsin had offered that game the day he said that quote, I wonder what he would have said. Well now they can be in the conversation of BCS teams that protect their record instead of traveling to tough games. They probably know they can win the Big East and make a BCS bowl with regularity now and dont need to prove anything to the computers. It's just that Anywhere, Anytime quote that kills me as well as the billboards they put up around Columbus. Just back it up. OSU fans already knew it wasnt true when they backed out of the game in Columbus. And for the record, I'm not trying to say they arent a good program, I wanted no piece of them in a bowl this year, I just hate the hypocrisy in the comments and the billboards.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 10, 2011 -> 11:41 AM) Wisconsin doesnt claim that they will play anyone/anywhere. TCU on the other hand has been screaming about how if a big time program would offer a game, theyd play them anytime, anywhere. That is without qualification. Wisconsin happened to have an open game this season, they offered to play TCU. TCU refused. I agree that TCU is probably smart to not accept the game, but it completely destroys their whole "No one will play us" and "We will play anyone anytime" argument. Its a real smart move not to play the game, because it would probably be a loss that would immediately drop them out of national title contender status at game 1.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 10, 2011 -> 11:31 AM) Meh. They don't want to play in Madison without a return trip to Fort Worth and UW only offered one game. They are a Big East team now, why would they accept that? Would OSU accept a game in Fort Worth with no game in Columbus? OSU accepted a home and home with them. Just dont say Anytime, Anywhere if you dont mean it. Especially if you put up billboards.
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 10, 2011 -> 11:25 AM) Wisconsin should have beat TCU. Would have been a great game, but TCU wont play anyone, anytime, anywhere. If they would theyd have been glad to take on Wisconsin. I understand completely not wanting to play on the road at Wisconsin, just dont claim that youll play anyone then. They've talked like that for a few years now. They left OSU holding the bag 2 years ago and luckily Navy was nice enough to fill the void on the schedule. OSU even game them a return game in their memorial game. I would have liked to see how TCU could handle a game on the road in one of the loudest stadiums in the country.
  5. collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/02/09/tcu-says-no-to-2011-rematch-with-wisconsin/ TCU apparently wants no piece of Wisconsin. But apparently they want to continue to fake like they want to play OSU who they backed out against 2 years ago. Come on, lets make the first game exciting and get your p**** asses up to Madison.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 10, 2011 -> 10:25 AM) I wonder if the Blackhawks guilted Tallon into that one. On the surface it doesn't make any sense. We get a pretty talented young goaltender as well as the most talented player in the deal in Frolik. This looks like a really strong trade for the Hawks. Frolik is a huge upgrade from Skille. Tallon loves Skille for whatever reason.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Feb 10, 2011 -> 10:17 AM) Caught up with Shameless last night. Good episode. And I know it's been said already, but I will say it again: Emmy Rossum. *boner*
  8. This is a political debate. Mark is an awesome pitcher though.
  9. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 9, 2011 -> 09:33 PM) Wow what the hell. Anyways get the out of Iowa and never return is my best advice. Guess we can face OSU now but not sure what Wisconsin's mental state is now. Matta hasn't won at the Kohl center with some really good teams, most likely you'll have a good Saturday. And Gary Williams is clearly becoming senile, he apparently thinks a lot more of the ACC than actual stats do.
  10. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 9, 2011 -> 08:21 PM) Has to be the worst shooting half in the history of basketball. Wisconsin was 2-19 at one point and had more offensive rebounds than points. Even with a 3 pointer being waived off and horrific shooting, Wisconsin is barely down at Iowa. Hopefully Wisconsin shoots 30% the second half and comes out with a victory. Most likely they are looking past Iowa, Bo will refocus them for the second half.
  11. Did Utah offer Boozer the same contract the Bulls did? Otherwise i don't get the boos
  12. I wouldn't mind seeing my boys up against Duke. They have good guard play but I think Sully would give them fits.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 9, 2011 -> 04:59 PM) When I am done crate training my pup, he will NOT be sleeping in my bed. I will buy something for him to lay on in my room, but he will never sleep with me. Thats what I said, but then that one time you pull the dog up there and its over.... The good news is my current dog isnt protective of the bed or anything, she just likes to lay in it with us sometimes.
  14. My rotty is like that, but i think it's because i didn't train him properly to allow humans near his food. My current mutt will let anyone put their hands in her food and she doesn't get protective. Based on my last two dogs as well, i most likely will only get females moving forward.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 9, 2011 -> 03:28 PM) Well holy crap...my mother talked me into going with the Great Dane on account of the lower activity level requirements. Had to check with my building to make certain there were no weight restrictions...and there aren't. No weight and no breed restrictions, just no more than 2 dogs. Going to have to get a bigger car eventually though. I just put a deposit down on a puppy from Somerset, Ohio. Great Dane, blue male. Currently 8 weeks. Oh my, my life is about to change drastically! Your bed is going to get extremely crowded shortly. Those dogs love to cuddle.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 07:16 PM) [/b] Nothing personal, but, good. These should be weekday games. We know they are selling out, so why take up prime dates? Stick them on days when we don't sell out. Hell I wish they were weekday games in April, so we could get an extra 30,000 people in those crappy days versus summer weekend dates which would have 30k at them anyway. Disagree, Cubs/Sox should be on the weekend since its a large party atmosphere. I like the inter-city tailgating and partying that takes place during the series, it wont be nearly as fun on a monday/tues/wed
  17. QUOTE (zenryan @ Feb 9, 2011 -> 03:00 PM) Looks like Forcier is headed to Miami. I would rather have gotten Savage from Rutgers transfer here but I'm good with this from a depth standpoint. I honestly didnt see that coming, I thought he was going to the WAC.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 9, 2011 -> 06:56 AM) Well, keep in mind that most people believe that the only way for muscles to repair themselves and grow is through rest. So if you're working your entire body on a daily basis you may be doing more harm than good. It's usually very productive to work certain muscles one day, and then give them at least one or two days to recover and repair themselves. Some people believe that. I prefer functional training as I know you do as well. Things like plyo, yoga, core exercises uses a ton of muscle groups right after you used them the day before. However, they arent used in the same way. I fully disagree with his strength "routine" above as you will blast certain muscles, but alot of the complementary muscles wont get any work and while his primary group gets used to the routine, he isnt doing the rest of his body any favors. I havent done a bench press in over 5 years. I've used dumbbells for a chest press, but I've never done a set number of reps and then doing them over again. One day you should do a regular set, then the next do a 2-2-2 set meaning 2 seconds up, 2 second hold and 2 seconds down. If you want to do it again the next day do a 4-1-1 or some variant. I also fully believe in doing an exercise then switching to something else before the second set. I also prefer body weight exercises when you can utilize then and fully engage core exercises into your routine like squats, lunges, planks, stability balls etc. Currently I am also doing a heavy circuit routine twice a week for conditioning. The routine I am currently doing is called the 1000: 2:30 on, 1:00 off Gold standard is 100 reps of each exercise 1. Push ups 2. Suspended pulls (lats) 3. Squats 4. bicep curls 5. Crunches 6. Chair dips 7. Alternating Lunges 8. Bicycles twists, both ways is one rep 9. Tricep pulldown 10. Swimmers with bands

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Feb 8, 2011 -> 03:10 PM) aka Emmy Rossum that sex scene was epic
  20. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Feb 8, 2011 -> 03:13 PM) Was that game televised? I just went off what I read after the game. All I really know is Kanter ended up with 34-13. i Saw some of it on the internet, he looked physically gifted, I was VERY relieved to see he was ineligible. LIke I said, he's the only player I've seen be able to at least stop and bother Sullinger with regularity.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 8, 2011 -> 10:04 AM) So after a run of pretty good episodes I thought HIMYM was pretty bad last night. It might be because I think the Zoey storyline is awful and pointless but I guess we will see where they go with it. She clearly is not the mother and I fail to see how Ted having yet another failed major relationship adds anything to the show. I thought it was excellent, the plot isnt really why I watch it, the parts with Jason Segel living at home were priceless. And I watched the first episode of Shameless last night, Wow.
  22. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Feb 8, 2011 -> 10:24 AM) I realize I'm way late to this party, but I'd say Kyrie Irving can be a pretty solid PG if he gets over that weird toe injury and Perry Jones, while raw, has a ton of potential. Some might also say Enes Kanter, who hasn't played this year but supposedly destroyed the US big men (including Sullinger) at the Nike Hoops Summit. There's certainly no slam-dunk savior at the top though. Kanter is the only player I've seen give Sullinger problems from his defense. I wouldnt say he destroyed him though.
  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 11:36 PM) Glad to get Tubby out of Minnesota, should help Bo land some more Minnesota recruits. Ill take that as well. That would be a pretty big hit to the Gophers program.
  24. Why does a guy with 15 feet o sidewalk have a 2 stage 2k snowblower?
  25. Hope everyone knew today was the day to get single game tickets for Season ticket holders. Since the Sox f***ed me on Cubs/Sox this year since its on a mon/tues/wed I got 4 to each.
