  1. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 26, 2011 -> 02:31 PM) Looking to make sure I did this right or thought it through properly. I am an average user of technology, I know my way aroud the web, stumble from time to time on my wireless network at home but have four wireless (laptop, Blu-Ray, ipod Touch, and Wii) and four hard wired (2 desktops, Blu-Ray and DirectTV) all on a Cisco Router that is a year old. I do not have a Smart Phone but will be going this way shortly. Anyway, my home network grew over the holidays with the new Blu-Ray players, Wii and the ipod touch joining our network. Previously after I connected my laptop I never used the wireless for anything as there was no need to. I want to download movies and use Netflix and Vudu on the Blu Rays and Wii and they never load. I think it is my modem. I could download on DirectTV but that loads to the DVR where it resides and is not really streaming video like Netflix and VUDU. My modem was AT&T and it was 1.5mbs which is the fastest DSL AT&T will give without Uverse. It works for music and e-mail but not forstreaming video to the BluRay and Wii. I like DirectTV and do not want Uverse which will give me 18mbs. I moved to Comcast XFinity for home phone and Internet as the price is the same as what I currently pay for AT&T home phone nad interenet. Comcast is 15mbs. Will this allow me to do what I need? I know that I can not use all of the compoents at once. Uverse only gives the speeds they list if you are close to the source, DSL gets progressively slower as it moved further and further away. DSL pretty much sucks. If you really want fast download speeds I would upgrade to Cable internet and get a wireless N router if your endpoints have that technology.
  2. SI cover Jinx for the packers and the "Fearless" Aaron Rogers who "carried" the Packers to the superbowl. Seriously, thats what it says.
  3. I had to at least comment on that ass-raping of purdue last night, so enjoyable.
  4. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jan 25, 2011 -> 09:54 AM) Well, Purdue finally has to play a real team tonight. Hopefully they lose by 40. I think they finally knock off the Buckeyes, they are due to lose one of these games.
  5. QUOTE (T R U @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 10:58 PM) Its not to incite anything, you don't have to agree with me but I didn't think the Bears were that good of a team.. and guess what, im not the only person who thought that as well.. they beat like 3 third string QBs during the season and got a gift of the Seahawks at home in the playoffs.. the Bears were very fortunate this year Who else did they beat, since you talk about the bad teams, who were the other wins? Hint: They beat 2 of the other 3 final four teams.
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 07:40 PM) Vick and Ben are both scumbags. If Ben did indeed rape that girl than there's no such f***in thing as paying your dues. Raped a girl wearing a name tag that said DTF......Slut turned money grabber. People dont hate on Kobe anymore.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 07:17 PM) The injury he sustained was also a bit different. Again, Rivers is a class guy. He's not going to call Jay names or say what Jay should have done. What he did say, was that he would have been out there playing if he could walk. He basically says he would have done things entirely different but felt bad for Jay because he wasn't at 100%. Doesn't really side with him at all. Rivers is a first class prick. I've never seen him called a class guy before.
  8. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 04:08 PM) Was going to comment on that. 86.19% is a pretty strong showing for us, I think. Seems pretty high compared to some of the recent years, though I don't know the numbers. Lot of home games next year (8, including 5 to start the year), so hopefully people will come out again. I think the entire conference had a pretty strong showing.
  9. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) Good catch. Lovie didn't do anything to help Jay by referring to it as a sprain instead of a tear. Most people don't associate significant injuries with sprains or strains, even though a Grade II can be bad and a Grade III sprain can be devastating. No kidding, f***ing Lisa Turtle won a dance contest with a sprain.....doing the sprain
  10. Big Ten attendance figures came out. Wow, I can honestly say I am amazed at how well the conference did top to bottom. The fans are still coming out en masse.
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 03:21 PM) He told Lovie to use the washed up, never-really-that-great veteran instead of the young prospect! Ozzie would have brought in the situational lefty at some point in the fiasco.
  12. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 01:51 PM) way too small True, my stock JGC came with 20's on it. Gotta go 24's on an SUV.
  13. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 01:44 PM) I hang out with Big Ben all the time, and hes a colossal douche bag. Payton Manning is also my godfather. And Favre is my best friend. Wasnt trying to brag, just pointing out why i am rooting for the Steelers. Miami is a really small school in the summer.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 01:48 PM) There is a LONG list of guys who have played a variety of sports with ligament tears in their knee. I'm not going to get into the s*** throwing fest that some are engaged in throughout this thread, but that's just the truth. I dont know what an MCL sprain feels like, but I have to think that the Bears staff could have shot him up with numbing agents enough for him to play.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 01:47 PM) Terrelle Pryor played 4 games including a BCS game with a ligament tear in his knee, and ran for 220 yards with it as well. /OSU plug Then he drove off from the stadium in his free SUV on 20 inch rims. He drives a Dodge Charger, its registered with the Big Ten. Come on, do a google search!!! ;-)
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 01:30 PM) The delusional projecting of sports fans onto athletes is something that drives me away from a lot of sports conversations. Everyone thinks they'd cut their arm off if it was holding them back, because they bought a jersey and sit on the couch to watch games. Half of those people couldnt make it up a flight of stairs without oxygen.
  17. I love Big Ben, went to school with him and really liked him when we played golf a few times. Go Steelers.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 11:04 AM) That dude is going to rue the day he turned down Google's $6 billion offer. insanely dumb actually, the competition in the market is just starting to get going.
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 12:23 PM) This is exactly it. I really don't feel bad for him because his chickens have come home to roost. I defended him for much of the year, but it's really difficult to defend him when you see this kind of overwhelming backlash against the guy. I generally think NFL players defend their own, and not too many people are willing to defend this guy. Just makes you wonder what we don't know. I dont think NFL players defend their own at all. For each guy on a team, theres plenty of people that come out hating on him. Tom Brady, Philip Rivers, Big Ben, even Kyle Orton have been s*** on in the media by other players.
  20. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 10:28 AM) I want to give my points. I was at the game had incredible seats right under the press box at the 50 yard line. First time ever at revamped Soldier Field, that place sucks. You lost me right there. The new Solider field is so much better than the old stadium its not even funny. Every seat is a good one.
  21. Looks like they arent selling the premium seats, but there were some near mine which are damn good for the friday Rays game.
  22. I'm checking to see if they are just trying to sell out the upper deck
