  1. Poor showing by Yankees fans, leaving before the game is over? Weak.
  2. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 18, 2010 -> 06:46 PM) On another note, know any good buildings either in the West Loop, South Loop(though I know you hate the South Loop) or possibly up on the near north side. Sorry for the thread hijack, but you seem to know quite a bit. Me and my woman are planning and buying a condo within the next year together. I'm your guy in the west loop. I just dont think you get much value for your money in the south loop, dont really "hate" it per say.
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 17, 2010 -> 12:20 AM) I was back in Chicago for a few weeks just recently and met up with one of my exes who got married just last January. She was never over me, should have never married this guy, and despite my warnings not to do so, did so anyways. We met at a bar on Wells and she spent about 3 hours getting loaded and telling me how much she dislikes being married to her husband, and harrassing me about why I broke up with her (she does this almost every time we meet for drinks when I am back in town). Then we made out. Oops. Seen it in person as well buddy. I just dont understand why they go through with it. The one girl said "because I was mad at breaking up with you" WTF? You are clearly one crazy b**** then.
  4. Hey guys, I think I mentioned it before, but I am working towards opening up a small business in the West Loop. I am having a hell of a time locating someone who does retail build outs for a fair price. Does anyone know of any that you could refer me to? Please PM me and thanks in advance.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 18, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) Illinois has 3 starters that are seniors. You won't find that very often in college basketball. I'm stunned to see any publication or expert not pick Duke to be #1. Michigan State over them? Say what? OSU will as well with Diebler, Lighty and Lauderdale, with Buford being the experienced Jr in the group. Each team will be relying heavily on underclassmen though which is always a huge question mark. The Buckeyes pretty much have no idea who will be playing PG at the moment.
  6. Mitchell probably would have been up this year without that injury, i still think he has the highest ceiling of the bunch.
  7. Ugh hungover. What happened to my Buckeyes that beat Oregon and Miami? The smallish faster defense just got their faces Big Ten'd on national TV. Knew this was the game that would make or break their season. Another big test in Iowa city awaits.
  8. This is exactly what I was afraid of. Getting kicked in the teeth.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 16, 2010 -> 12:23 PM) Depends on how healthy Head is and is Richmond produces right away. Sucks about Hummel because you could have 3 Big 10 teams in the Top 8 with Purdue, OSU, and Illinois. There are still alot of question marks with Illinois and OSU, they are both relying heavily on young players. I would say they are both top 10 teams, not sure about top 5. MSU is still the team to beat IMO.
  10. QUOTE (The Critic @ Oct 16, 2010 -> 10:36 AM) John Scott is terrible. He should only be out there if you need someone punched in the face. So he may be needed tonight. There is a 100% chance he fights tonight if he suits up.
  11. Cam Newton just trucked a linebacker into the end zone.
  12. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Oct 16, 2010 -> 11:51 AM) Hummel out for the year with an ACL tear. Horrible break for the kid and Purdue. Their season just got f***ed. Still will be competitive with Moore, Jackson, Johnson, etc. RIP to his bball career. That ligament is clearly going to be an issue for life.
  13. The Hawks looked much better with Cullimore out there instead of Scott. And that doesnt say much. Hopefully Leddy continues to develop
  14. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Oct 15, 2010 -> 05:36 PM) Hell, Kobe scored 81 in a game, and he missed 18 shots and 2 free throws in that game. Jordan could score 100 if he tried to. No problem.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 15, 2010 -> 04:33 PM) I'll have to search for the links to some of the draft articles I read. But there were multiple ones stating that while Sale's talent is not in question, his size/delivery could relegate him to the 'pen. And I disagree. A good reliever is not a good investment with your first round pick. You won't convince me otherwise. There are much less expensive ways to find relievers/closers than to burn first round picks. Sale's bonus wasnt even 2 million dollars. I'm not sure if you thought it was more than that?
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 15, 2010 -> 02:20 PM) Again, look all around baseball, past or present. How many legitimate closers were first round picks? Now if something unexpected happens (i.e. an injury) that forces a guy to the 'pen then that's one thing. But there were questions about Sale's long-term projections before the draft. But I'm not going to make this an issue right now. All signs point to him being given every opportunity to start as early as next year. What were the questions about his long-term projections? For the most part scouts loved the pick. Not to mention he was one of the first players up in the majors after being draft and showed dominance earlier than 99 percent of draft picks. He will start for this team, his floor is a VERY good reliever. Thats a pretty damn good investment.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 15, 2010 -> 01:53 PM) Maybe "wasted" was the wrong word to use. But for a system that lacks, well, everything, I don't think it's really good organizational strategy to use a critical first round pick on a guy you're not damn near 100% sure can cut it as a starter. Closers are a dime a dozen these days. It'd be like an NFL team using their first pick on a C. Not even all first round picks make the show. Your evaluation and defense of your viewpoint is remarkably negative. Your criteria for our minor league system is you "being sold" on a player. And using a first round pick on a very good center in the NFL is not a bad pick at all. All-pro centers are most certainly not a dime a dozen.
  18. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 14, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) Rock, Scooters are everywhere in Madison. Im not sure why, maybe because of the hill? It should be a great time, night games are insane which is why they dont usually have them. I think its going to be a tight game, whatever team can run and control the ball better most likely will win. I go up there weekly now becuase of a customer, but my first time I was really surprised first of all how gorgeous it is up there, second that its totally on the water (didnt know that) and third how many students get around on two wheels.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 14, 2010 -> 05:22 PM) Next to nothing outside of Sale, who I'm not sold on if he can be a starter, if not, he was a wasted pick. A first round pick that comes up and pretty much dominates a few months after he was drafted is a wasted pick? Bulls***. Even if he ends up a dominant set up guy or closer its never a wasted pick when a guy can contribute this early at this level.
  20. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 14, 2010 -> 12:05 PM) Hey Rock, You ready? Ouch thats awful, but no I am not ready. I'll be in madison tomorrow already nervous. The one accurate thing about that video though is the sheer amount of scooters on the Wisconsin campus, its unreal.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 14, 2010 -> 12:20 PM) Because 2 How does that cheapen the regular season? You just contradicted yourself by saying that single game was cheapened, but the rest of their games matter. 1 single loss to a bad team can drop any team out of the top 8 which makes the games extremely important, and gives small conference teams a better chance at a national title in case the rest of the big schools stay undefeated. I cant ever see a regular season cheapened in the sport of football. Do the NFL playoffs cheapen the regular season? Sports that play once a week will simply always be an event.
  22. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 08:38 PM) I have to say, I am really enjoying watching Stalberg play....but John Scott... not so much. Big but soooo slow. He's terrible with the puck as well.
