  1. QUOTE (T R U @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 11:12 PM) lol, yes every playoff in sports history has had the best team win.. The BCS guarantees that 2 of the best 3 teams at LEAST are playing for a National Title.. all a playoff does is make the regular season slightly less meaningful and gives ANY team a chance to get hot and win a National Title.. I prefer the current system where you have to pretty much be flawless to get that Title game.. Flawless in your schedule whatever that may be. You even just said yourself that a team like Boise couldnt make it through tough teams in back to back weeks, so why would they deserve to go to a title game if they win their crappy conference. At least with a playoff a team would have to win its way through similar competition to win. And it would prove alot more who the best team in the country is. You make fun of playoff systems, but what other sport has a championship where computers and polls decide who plays for a title? And let me add to this. If I was a fan of a small school not in a BCS conference, i would hate any system where I have to count on other teams losing for my team to have a chance at not only a championship, but a good bowl game. A playoff system that takes the top teams and makes them play each other would put my team in the driver's seat and would make the regular season just as important as it is now. IN fact I dont see a single reason why a playoff system would cheapen the regular season at all, because you still have to qualify for one of those top 8 spots or so.
  2. Honestly, I dont understand how fans going to the United center cant figure out that Madison St is BY FAR the worst route. I just went on a run and monroe, adams, Van buren and randolph are all empty.
  3. QUOTE (T R U @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 04:42 PM) We had that chance last year and they dropped the ball.. There is just no way that Boise could beat Nebraska, Oregon, Ohio State in consecutive weeks.. a tournament kills their chances at ever getting a National Title.. Then they arent the best team in the country and dont deserve a national title. A tournament would guarantee the best team in the country wins the prize of being called the best. And a quick edit, you almost just said that Boise couldnt win the Big Ten conference, which would mean, they wouldnt even be in the picture in the first place with the current system since they couldnt even win one of the major conferences.
  4. QUOTE (T R U @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) Uh no it wouldn't.. A tourny is the dumbest idea ever, unless you wanna see the same teams playing for a national title every year.. at least with the current system a team like Boise or TCU has a chance.. with a tourny there is no way they would ever get to a title game.. Why is that? Is they are truly the best team in the nation they would make the tournament and be able to advance to the title game. In the current format, if they go undefeated and 2 others teams do they have ZERO chance to win the title.
  5. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) That's not saying much. The Bears have been pretty poo in the secondary for awhile now. Tillman and Vasher in 06 were both b starters, but nothing spectacular. Tillman is a good ballhawk, that's about it. Which is why a lot of people think he should be playing S. BTW, just my opinion, DJ Moore is a better CB than anyone on that Bears squad skillwise, but he lacks size. Tillman is a servicable guy and at his peak, would've made a good #2, but Bears fans need to stop drinking the kool-aid and thinking he's great because he had a good game against Randy Moss 4 years ago. But that still doesnt make him a borderline starter on the Bears. He would be a clear starter on a majority of the teams in the NFL.
  6. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 12, 2010 -> 11:01 PM) I was cracking up in last weeks episode, but yea the first two had a few laughs but overall just "decent" episodes and not Sunny worthy. IMO they really made up for it big time in Mac gets his big break. They sometimes put the weaker ones first in the season for whatever reason.
  7. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 12:27 PM) Well....you can probably drop him now. And Derrick Martin was just put on the IR, he was our only decent special teams guy and backup safety. This is getting to be ridiculous For now I sat him in favor of Greg Olsen.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 01:23 PM) Chris Williams is coming back this week, but probably moving to left guard, Omiyale stays at LT. Garza is getting benched for Edwin Williams, Webb at RT. I may be one of the few like really likes the potential of Webb, he just looks like a beast.
  9. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 01:40 PM) Seriously, as an ISU fan, it's not relevant to me. Either is actually having a football team. But to most folks it would be relevant. A tourney would make it easier for non-traditional BCS schools to get a shot at a national title.
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 12, 2010 -> 08:59 PM) Moss and Tillman were close about 4 years ago, but Moss has stayed close to his 2006 level, while Tillman's barely a starting CB on his own team - probably more of a safety by now. He's clearly the best CB on the team, who is better?
  11. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Oct 12, 2010 -> 03:46 PM) It's very good. Name drops all sorts of players... But seriously, this really isn't all that surprising to me. I know a guy who's dad used to pay a decent college football player $400/month. From the moment I learned that, I knew tons of players were on the take. At my alma mater they got around paying the players by loading up their student cards with cash. The players then could buy expensive items at the bookstore with their cards and return the items for cash instead of credit. Alot of players would make several hundred bucks a week by doing this.
  12. Honestly, do they have Macs or PC's? Because ichat works pretty good over long distances.
  13. YAWN, more articles about Oregon's "unstoppable" offense. Looks like the same offense that dropped 17 points on an actual defense in the Rose Bowl.
  14. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Oct 12, 2010 -> 12:08 PM) Now I'm seeing 3-6, initial reports I saw were season ending but most likely just speculation. Yahoo fantasy says 3 weeks. Otherwise I would have dropped him.
  15. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 09:15 AM) I don't know. Am I the only one who has been disappointed with almost all of the Always Sunny episodes so far? Thursday's may have been the best one ever, definitely in the top 3. The 80's montage was genius.
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 12, 2010 -> 09:31 AM) He doesn't have a history of trouble, so hopefully he only gets one game, but yeah that was more bad luck/timing then trying to hurt somebody. After Boynton got one game for this throat slash gesture, I wonder how many our old friend Wisniewski will get for this move. He may get a bonus for doing it to Avery.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 12, 2010 -> 08:38 AM) Marian Hossa is on a God damn mission. He legitimately looks like a top 5 player in the game right now after actually having an offseason without rehab. That Hjalmarsson game misconduct was bulls***. In the end, Crawford looks like a serviceable backup, and that was a nice win to take us to 1-1-1. Hammer will prob be suspended and fined for that hit. Not sure I agree with that.
  18. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 11, 2010 -> 05:09 PM) Some how the computers would magically find 2 different teams to end as 1 and 2. Computers can get paid too. Some SEC team would slither its way in there.
  19. Worst possible scenario for an upset. #1 ranking going into Madison at night.
  20. What is Todd Collins doing? NFL QB's should not be that terrible. PLease put Hanie in.
  21. Finally got to see a little more of the Ill PSU game. Wow Illinois punched them in the mouth.
  22. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Oct 4, 2010 -> 11:16 PM) Will anyone hold Michigan to less than 30 points this year? Will Michigan hold anyone else on their schedule to less than 30? This team is not for the faint of heart. Yes, an actual defense will. Your thoughts on today's game?
  23. QUOTE (Real @ Oct 9, 2010 -> 10:26 PM) This team looks like s*** so far, they are allowing too much pressure on Turko i.e. bad defense LOL
  24. I loved the MSU chat about being a little brother. 0-4 Mike Hart's spirit is sill alive.
  25. Tough facing an actual defense huh Blue? Make Denard throw, and run the football.
