  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 09:09 AM) How many other teams do we see trading for guys that perform in the AFL but struggle at other levels? I dont know, why dont you answer that question yourself. I bet nobody on here actually knows or follows that at all.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 09:46 AM) I am still thinking about it, but the tickets are just so damn expensive, even at face value. I have been contemplating hitting up a rooftop. I might not be able to see one end zone, but for the same price as a ticket to the game I will have free food and booze. Either way, I am definitely gonna hit up the neighborhood for the game and check out whats going on. And you'll be warm. Thats actually a good idea.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 08:46 AM) The defense by the guards was horrible. Rose was getting toasted by Toney Freaking Douglass the entire game. They couldn't guard the three point stripe to save their lives. I know the percentage the Knicks shot was ridiculous, but at the same time, they almost all were wide open looks at the basket. No close outs, no fighting over the screens. Nothing. Not all of that was on the guards though. Alot of the pick and rolls were horribly defended by the entire team. If the Knicks dont knock down 70 percent of their 3's though the Bulls win that game.
  4. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 08:20 AM) The SCORE was talking about the cub needing to trim another $10M before next year. The Dunn and Cliff Lee talks are nonsense. Going to be a long couple of years up there. They literally cannot add much salary if any at all for next year. They already have 100+ million committed to their roster.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 07:29 AM) But Danks doesn't want to be a White Sox by evidence of his turning down the exact same deal Floyd accepted. He's the Sox biggest trade chip. Clearly, I'm sure agents werent involved at all.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 09:14 PM) Are you serious? I was in SF last weekend as well....crap Oh yeah, stayed up at the Fairmont in Nob Hill.
  7. This is why the NBA sucks at times, the refs have totally changed parts of the game with no calls and phantom fouls.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 07:38 PM) Not to mention Guillen being coveted by the Marlins. I know the idea is that the Sox are a ship of fools, but the rest of MLB sure doesn't seem to think so. Well to be fair, that idea is mostly echoed by Sox fanatics on a message board. That's where most irrational thoughts and comments on any team come from.
  9. I hope someone else just saw what DROSE did there. Holy s***.
  10. QUOTE (since56 @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 05:11 PM) If they are so good then how come one playoff year in the last five? Because funny as it seems, the players actually factor more into the final results than the coaches.
  11. QUOTE (The Critic @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) I'll take Nick Leddy's growing pains over John Scott giving me intestinal pains any day of the week. My thoughts exactly. At least Leddy bring some talent to the ice.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 02:47 PM) It may be "huge" but for some reason it feels fine in my pocket and seems to take up less space than the Palm Pre. That's probably because it's so slim. Palm's are notoriously huge as well. I dont think its an issue for most people anyway these days since our phones seem to be glued to our hands 99 percent of the time.
  13. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 02:26 PM) Agreed! Despite its huge size, it is pretty awesome. The screen needs to play some catch up however. I've always liked sprints network though.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 08:34 PM) Have to agree on this one. You can get all the anecdotal evidence from others that you want, but what matters is how the network performs where you will use it. I hear countless stories about AT&T sucking, but in Vegas, it is very, very good. And of course, I think the iPhone is an outstanding device, especially with all the developer support they get, but I'm sure like others have said, any of these new phones you get will probably knock your socks off if you've been rolling with the old school equipment. So true. I was just in SF last weekend for vacation and my iphone 3g literally wouldnt be able to render web pages or download emails fully. It was AWFUL. Here in Chicago I really dont have many problems with ATT much. Anyway I just upgraded my iphone 3gs to an iphone 4 and its amazing how much brighter and clearer the screen is if you place them next to each other. Truly unreal.
  15. QUOTE (3E8 @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 01:15 PM) That is him looking for pickoff/pitchout signals, not which pitch to call. You will notice he only does that with a runner on base No, I've clearly seen the bench call pitches in certain games throughout the season. This season was one of the first times I noticed it to be honest.
  16. Looks like Jim Hendry is after Nick Johnson to play 1B for the Cubs. Thats about the caliber of GM I would expect to sign this guy to start.
  17. QUOTE (hitlesswonder @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 09:07 AM) I think he's already better than Rose. Much better defender, faster with the ball, better passer. If I had to choose between the two, I know who I would take. WTF, 3 games in and he's already better than one of the best in the league? How many passes have you actually seen the kid throw? Wall is a good player, but he's a rookie that hasnt even shown what type of player he is in the NBA yet. Saying he's better than Rose is ridiculous.
  18. I'll personally drive John Scott to Rockford if it means getting him out of the lineup. Cullimore looked just as I remembered him last night, slow with bad hands. We obviously need our guys to get back healthy, but I really dont think we have the best talent in the system on the roster right now.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 07:32 AM) If AJ leaves and plays for a team that goes to the postseason, the posters sort of saying get rid of him right now will pull a Uribe and suddenly love him. There is a lot AJ adds to a team. The White Sox bench does not call pitches, so while its ultimately up to the pitcher, the staff has trusted him through the years and that's a big plus. Problems with catchers, no matter what their stature is trouble, see Burnett and Posada. He also is a workhorse. Not having to play your back up catcher 60 games a year is something we haven't seen for a long while. There is a reason they are back up catchers and usually its because they hit like pitchers. I hope they retain him. I just don't see anyone better than him the Sox have a reasonable chance of acquiring. The Sox bench called pitches alot of the past few years. Watch AJ look to his left constantly before calling the pitch. Its his cost that is the question here, not that he can be a capable platoon.
  20. QUOTE (Pale Sox @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 07:30 PM) Realistically, couldn't Quentin and Jones platoon with each other? It would never actually happen, but it would make sense. Quentin has always hit righties better than lefties, and Jones is obviously the opposite. In theory somehow Q finds his MVP-esque talent and De Aza is his defensive sub late in games. That would be my idea platoon. Jones just doesnt have much value to me at this point.

    P90X

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 14, 2010 -> 06:02 PM) If there is a hell on earth, it's definitely the plyo from p90x. Torture but got it done yesterday. Also sparred, ran a few miles and did the p90x core work out today, a lot easier than the plyo. Insanity literally kills people. I have to take breaks out of sheer exhaustion at times, but so do the people on the video. Plyo was cake tonight other than a small hammy tweak.
  22. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 04:28 PM) Seems like guys fall off from their highs in the NFL faster than anywhere else. Careers in the NFL are shorter than most pro sports including superstars. Look at how many top RB's sustain production over more than 5 years. I was just looking at the fantasy drafts a few years back when Larry Johnson was one of the top guys, now he can barely make a roster. Its amazing.
  23. Posey did have some very good mentoring, but he is a Joe Mauer-esque young phenom. Kinda hard to compare that to AJP. However AJ does handle a pitching staff quite well but without his offensive production he become a bench guy to me. Frankly I am willing to cut ties with him based on cost.
  24. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) I like this Morel kid but I bet many here wondered if Kenny will try to explore the FA/Trade market at third base. Bottom line is Morel is huge question mark and while I wish him the best we have no idea how he is going to perform, what if he tanks? Then what do we have, Teahen? Vizquel? Viciedo? In that list you have two good bats and a great glove as a backup to a guy with already a good glove. You have to take risks if you want to build through the draft and play your minor league guys.
