If Mitchell and Phegley look healthy out there (they don't even have to look all that great), this will be great.

Yeah, we need Mitchell to hit the ground running next year. I don't want to have a ton of Mike Trout jealousy a year from now.

where is thompson?

mitchell, escobar and phegley are all double A's right

Thompson is too raw for the AFL this year. Mitchell hasn't played at AA so I'm not sure of his classification for the AFL.

You can have like one player who isn't at AA or above in the AFL, can't you?

I think two.

Anyone know if he (and who else) will be in the "junior" AFL or whatever they're calling it. I think starting that last year was an A+++ idea by MLB by the way.

If Mitchell would have been healthy this year I can say with confidence that he may have taken some at bats in Chicago right about now. I am hoping he picks up where he left off before the injury.

Which of the AFL prospects can we expect in Chicago next year at some point?

Not sure any are likely to be in Chicago... other than at O'Hare as travel from spring training back to the minors.

The Sox seem to be very, very aggressive in promoting guys, especially the last couple years. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Mitchell in Sept., and a couple of the pitchers as well. Phossibly Phegley if he's over his health issues and has a good season as well.

Will Leesman be apart of that group that is up there?

I think anyone on the AFL list is a good potential candidate for starting in the upper levels of our org next year, if they perform well this offseason.

Thanks for the heads up. I might have to check it out.

Games start today. Saguaros play later this evening.

Mitchell is leading off, playing CF tonight.

(yay)

In Mitchell's 1st AB, he smashed a double off the LFC wall (opposite field).

EDIT: His 2nd AB he was called out on strikes. His 3rd AB he laced a single into CF. 2/3 with a 2B, and 2 runs scored so far.

Another single. Up the middle. Then caught stealing.

Leesman takes the loss.

Good debut for Mitchell. Hopefully the steals will come around.

It's only the AFL, but I'll take any positive news I can get from any legitimate minor leaguer in the system.

After last year, any of them being healthy enough to play is a huge boost.
