Floyd Landis tests positive for testosterone

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 30, 2010 -> 09:15 AM) You don't know a f***ing thing about me, so don't bring my personal acquaintances into this. Funny how you didnt address my actual point. I just lost another family member this weekend to Cancer, and anyone who has headed an organization on its way to raising half a billion dollars for survivors, families and research would never in a million year cross my mind as someone I would compare to Hitler. Maybe you think he used Cancer as a publicity ploy, but if you spoke to anyone who has actually received compensation or help from the Livestrong foundation, you would clearly see how f***ing off base you are. -
QUOTE (iamshack @ May 29, 2010 -> 06:03 PM) Wow, Rock. I commend you. How warm do you guys keep your thermostats usually? I just did Plyo, and I think it is 81 in here, and I feel like I might faint... Again, Rock, amazing work. Keep it up brotha. And then totally ruined it with a terrible eating/drinking weekend. I try to keep mine at 75ish, but during some plyo workouts ill just leave all the windows open.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 29, 2010 -> 11:18 AM) I couldn't forget if I tried. Only thing that worries me about Chapman is his control. He's not going to get away with a BB/9 of 5 in the majors. But yeah, the potential of the Reds is tantalizing. Yeah, he appears to be quite wild, gotta love that K rate though.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 29, 2010 -> 10:55 AM) I'm a huge Homer Bailey fan. Edison Volquez is a major wildcard. If he can be even 75% of what he was in '08 then we're talking. But that's a huge if. As of right now, I have to go with the proven team that features the two best pitchers in the division and best player on the planet. Dont forget Chapman who has been filthy in the minors.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 29, 2010 -> 10:04 AM) What's the point of this post? He was saying that he beat cancer, and that is a great thing, but he used the fact that he beat cancer to garner positive publicity while he cheated his ass off and left his wife for Sheryl Crow. Adolf Hitler could've beaten cancer...it wouldn't have made him a good person. Yes, Hitler. What is the point of your ridiculous post? Armstrong's charity (or his shield from cheating) has raised $325 million dollars for cancer research, prevention programs and funds for survivors. Amazing that he went through all of that to make himself look good in the press. Maybe if you have a family member who faces a battle with cancer or a loved one who has suffered the pain of treatment or even death you appreciate a program like his instead of taking such a pathetic short sighted view of the absolute bigger picture. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 29, 2010 -> 08:57 AM) Any idea what time ticketbastard releases day of game tickets? I checked just now and there was nothing. Stubhub has SRO still for $255. The cheapest chair was $447. I want to know who all these assholes are that are selling their STANLEY CUP FINALS tickets in the first place. Especially when you think you are getting 600 dollars for a 300 level seat. If thats you, you are a f***ing bastard who doesnt deserve to see the game or get the money. -

QUOTE (kev211 @ May 29, 2010 -> 02:38 AM) Am I the only one upset over the Jordan statue having hawks gear all over it? I mean I'm not a big hockey fan considering this is my first post in this thread, but that statue is basically sacred in my mind. Obviously I am probably going to get ripped on for posting it in this thread, but I still feel that way. Im a huge Hawks fan and I hate it. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 29, 2010 -> 10:15 AM) I'd feel a lot better about the Reds if Harang didn't completely suck. And I think it's just a matter of time before Leake hits the wall. I like the Reds a lot. I've pimped them (along with the Orioles, who have made me look foolish) quite a bit the last two years. Just not sure they're quite there yet. They have two stud arms coming back to the team soon enough. The Reds are a tough matchup.

Plyo+core syn today. Awesome workout day.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 28, 2010 -> 10:55 AM) He had two hard hit outs, a single, and very narrowly missed a home run last night. He's looked better at the plate the last few days, hopefully it's a sign. im willing to stake my baseball rep on him breaking out in the next week or so. He is coming out of it.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 28, 2010 -> 11:00 AM) Lance DEFINITELY deserves credit: he's used beating cancer to hide being a cheater and a bad guy better than almost anybody else could in my opinion. Yeah, beating cancer was probably to cover up doping for a bike race. All the physical and mental struggle he went through was probably nothing. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 28, 2010 -> 09:53 AM) Thats what I was just thinking about too. A big reason the Sharks lost was that their top line would get stuck back on D and just get destroyed. Heatley finished the playoffs -7 and Thornton finished -11 which is absolutely unacceptable. Heatley was the one who somehow lost sight of the biggest player on the ice for the game 3 OT winner. I definitely don't see Phillys forwards being anywhere as easy to score on. Philly's forwards do a great job of getting back and on the PK they stack 4 players very close to the net to force teams to move the puck at the point. One thing that they havent faced however is a team with the puck possession skills of the Hawks. The Hawks arent going to flinch at Philly packing its players in deep because they have faced teams like that and are perfectly happy moving the puck at the point and firing away from deep waiting for rebounds. If I see Philly scrambling to chase the Hawks in the first few minutes of the first game I will feel alot better. If the game starts to look like Nashville where we struggle to enter their zone, then I will be worried. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2010 -> 08:34 AM) Really? He's put up a .511 OPS his last 7 days. Well if you didnt watch the games then I think thats what you would use to evaluate him. Take last night for example, everything he hit was hard, but came up with one hit. Someone who hasnt been watching would say it wasnt a good game, when in fact he squared up the ball almost every time he made contact. I see him coming out of it this weekend to be honest.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2010 -> 09:01 AM) Peavy will skip his usual bullpen throwing session this time through. He needs to play long toss, I've totally bought into the Rangers way of pitching. Much more long toss from greater distances.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 28, 2010 -> 09:32 AM) The SJ top line is more talented than the Philly top line by a little bit, but 3 lines deep, I'll take Philly's forwards. They have some dynamic players over there, and a lot of the 2nd/3rd line guys played up on the first line and held their own with Gagne and Carter out for stretches. Philly's forward depth is excellent. SJ top line is defensively weak compared to Philly, Richards is a beast much like Toews. -
QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ May 22, 2010 -> 11:34 AM) I realize tastes vary, but I'd like input on the following steakhouses, including why you may like one more than another. 1. Gibson's 2. Keefer's 3. Morton's 4. Sullivan's 5. Any others downtown? David Burkes blows most of those away at this point. Gibsons, Sullivans and Keefers are overhyped. Mortons is always good

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ May 22, 2010 -> 10:52 AM) I'm heading up to Chicago for the first time in 6 years or so for July 4th weekend. We'll get in Thursday morning and leave on Sunday the 4th. I need some suggestions on things to do. Time will be somewhat limited. We'll have all day Thursday, but are going to Cubs-Reds games (yes I know its a Sox board, but the Sox weren't in town!) My questions are: 1. Tell me about Taste of Chicago. Is it worth spending time there? Worth catching after one of the afternoon games? What kind of entertainment will there be? 2. Does anyone know of any other events going on that weekend? Has anyone ever done any of the boat tours? There is an architecture tour and a skyline tour? Any input? Are there dinner cruises at night? 3. Will there be a big fireworks show downtown on Saturday the 3rd or will we miss out having to fly back on the 4th? 4. Suggestions for places to eat? We'll be doing pizza one night for sure. Mostly likely Giordano's or Lou Malnati's. We like dive type places, but wouldn't mind a nice dinner one night either. Definitely not looking for chain or corporate places. Want something unique to Chicago. We're staying at the Sutton Place Hotel which is a few blocks north of the Hancock Tower and west of Oak St. Beach. Is Oak St. Beach going to be packed that weekend. I figured on walking to it at least one morning, but not staying long. Thoughts? Any input on the above or any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. We're using public transportation and time would be limited, so unless something would just blow us away, it needs to be pretty convenient to downtown. Thanks! DONT GO TO THE TASTE. Repeat: DONT GO TO THE TASTE. Its turned into a very dangerous gang-infested event. You would be wise to spend time in a neighborhood street fest if thats what you are looking for. Blue 13 is my fav boutique restaurant in Chicago at the moment. Unreal experience and food.

Well, Gordo appears to be breaking out of it, so now we just need Carlos to remember he's awesome.

QUOTE (JuiceCruz16 @ May 20, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) Livestrong Lance, Livestrong. LOL the guy is clearly a doper like all of the rest of them in worldclass biking, but you go ahead and Livestrong Lance! Landis just got busted, Armstrong is no different, he's worse for that livestrong campaign he kicked while knowing he is a doper as well. Soooooooo, he DIDNT beat cancer? -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 25, 2010 -> 09:07 PM) They aren't evently matched, even with the Flyers now healthy. The Flyers also haven't played a team anywhere in the same universe as the Blackhawks in terms of talent in these playoffs. They do have a good team though (albeit not as deep as the Hawks), and are strong on defense with some hot goal scorers up front, so the Hawks aren't going to smash them. However, it would be a significant upset if the Hawks don't win. Well, they've played NJ who is a f***ing good team and the Flyers played the Hawks and beat them. Their top 2 lines match very evenly with the hawks as well as the top 4 d pairings. The hope is that the overall depth for the Hawks will prevail, but that is a small percentage of ice time in a cup series like this, especially for the blueliners. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 26, 2010 -> 04:09 PM) Problem is he's gone from mediocre or average (2009) to replacement level this year. This year hasn't come out of nowhere. This year is over then huh? His numbers arent very good, but he doesnt have a downward trend since his worst year ERA and WHIP wise was 2006 and 2007 and 2008 were stellar. 2009 was decent for a closer, but not what you'd call dominant. There is no trend in there that I can see other than the trend of soxtalkers screaming for someones head 2 months into the season.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 26, 2010 -> 03:31 PM) You'd be better off just saying that you refuse to in life criticize any member of the 2005 White Sox, no matter how despicable their current performance is. Bobby Jenks is HORSEf***INGs***. So far this year yes, but he is not horses***. Thinking that 2 months of his performance makes him worthless is pretty much horses***.

I got my last one done on Taylor street just east of racine, pretty good work there too. My first was done at a since closed down shop in lisle by an absolute hack, its all raised because of the amount of scar tissue cause he was an idiot.

QUOTE (G&T @ May 25, 2010 -> 08:02 PM) So I am going to be driving from Albany, NY to Palos Park on Friday. This is a 13 hour drive. We are trying to figure out when the best time to leave is. The latest we will leave is 4 am, but we will get to northwest Indiana heading into Chicago at around 4pm on the Friday of Memorial day weekend. Anyone have any idea how bad the traffic will be? Will most people be heading the other way? Should we be leaving earlier? Thanks! Skyway to stoney island to lakeshore is a good bet.
