  1. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 09:45 AM) I was in Whistler, BC a couple years ago and it was unbelievably beautiful. Wish I was there for the games. Not so great right now since there isnt any snow there.
  2. QUOTE (chwhtsox @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 02:37 PM) I'm 0-2 in gifts. I got her a kindle for her birthday that she hasn't touched since she opened it and got her a Droid for Christmas that she can't figure out how to use. Any ideas from you guys would be great... Actually, 0-3...she still hasn't used the $100 gift card for the massage joint in Algonquin. Tiffany's dude. Doesnt have to be something expensive, its the box that matters.
  3. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 08:15 AM) I think I am moving in with my girlfriend...this can totally blow up in my face but I guess we have to just take chances in life sometimes. Its a good test for compatibility and I recommend it to anyone who wants to get married. My Ex moved in with me and it feel immediately apart, thats how you know it wont work. You cant hide anything from someone you live with.
  4. I like how savy their PR team is for the Cubs though. How is it that EVERY season a certain number of players are in the "best shape of their careers". Its hilarious. You mean Zambrano wont be a complete headcase on the mound because he lost some weight?

QUOTE (Getupstretch39 @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 09:14 AM) Thanks for the reply. I'm 5'11" 260. Most people are shocked when they find out I am 260, they always say they would guess about 230 or so. I have more of a fullback-type build. I'm fairly athletic, I'm one of the faster guys on my 16" softball team )play OF) and still play guard for basketball. I recently started working out seriously again , started a running program to get me to 2 miles on the treadmill (almost there) and I can rep 225 6 times just to give you a quick snapshot. I went from 185 in high school to 225 in college, since then I've been pretty stagnant in my working out which resulted in serious weight gain, on again, off again, bouncing between 250 and 270. I'm getting married next year and needless to say need to get serious again and I'm really interested in P90X. I just want to make sure I'm not overshooting things by starting it where I am right now. This thing will probably lean you down quite a bit in the core and in your face to be honest. You should see a few inches of your waist peel off in the first 30 days alone.

QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 11:25 PM) Well I'm already doing all those things, I'm just considering doing P90x You will get completely ripped up and can gain mass if you use heavier weights and skip some of the diet recommendations. You could also sub out some of the cardio work for resistance work. The main difference between this and working out is that this makes you use muscles in ways you wouldnt have done by going to a gym. The stabilizing muscles, your core, even your legs will be used like you wouldnt have expected. The core synergistics days (which is during your res week mind you) just tore me apart last night, but in a good way. My lower back and sides are sore, which is good since it shows I havent used those as much as I should have previously.
  7. You stay classy Tom Crean. No need to shake the opposing coaches hand huh?
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) Exactly. Demetri wasn't as aggressive in high school and Turner is such a better team player. The one time I saw him in high school, he was such a ball hog and made bad decisions. Oh yeah, Turner couldnt dribble a ball until his soph year of college.
  9. The presale code is our ticket acct number, so most of the good games are gone under our accts.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 09:14 PM) I saw them (St. Josephs) plays Derrick Rose's Simeon team their senior years. It was funny watching Turner talk trash to Rose and Rose just smiling and being calm the whole game. The funny thing is, as good as they both were back then, they are both SO much better now. Chicago basketball is getting nice representation.
  11. Pretty sure Seabrook gave up two goals on his own last night, the D needs to get their head out of their ass. This is like the 4th game in a row where even Keith is turning the puck over for breakaways.
  12. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 08:31 AM) The fajitas were allright, did somethings wrong, but they turned out allright. Not bad. Past week I've had just terrible mood/appetite. I feel like a women (lol?) I cant eat things i normally eat (I just made egg whites + sausage links + oatmeal, ended up throwing out 3/4 of it), I just cant eat things. All that is on my mind is olive garden, subway, and candy.... Also been in terrible moods this week, ever since that damn sickness. Could be sugar addiction or something of the sort. Preserved foods and fast foods change your body chemistry, moving into eating clean is like stopping smoking, you have to do it gradually.
  13. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 02:50 PM) Why do you care to impress a casual fan who you probably wouldn't have talked to anyway? Not trying to impress anyone, just feel like the Aparicio love i wanted to show may be dimmed a little bit. This is what I'll be sporting BTW http://jerseychannelone.com/jersey/mlb-chi...tml?language=en
  14. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 02:21 PM) Dear Illinois, do not listen to the above post. Interesting fact, out of the 5 home losses that Bo Ryan has, 2 came against Illinois.
  15. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 01:39 PM) I'm curious as to why that is for you. How does it devalue what Aparicio contributed to the team? To the game. It's a number, isn't it? Because to the casual observer who doesnt know thats its a representation of the actual Jersey Luis would have worn, It'll look like I'm a big Vizquel fan, and that makes me angry.
  16. So I bought an authentic Aparicio to wear for this season and essentially its been completely ruined for me.
  17. Come on Illinois! Knock the badgers back a notch in the standings
  18. QUOTE (scenario @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 12:49 PM) Back when I was single I asked a married guy I respected how you knew when you found the girl you were going to marry. He looked at me like I was a complete idiot and said... "Here's how it's going to happen. Someday a girl is going to come along, grab ahold of your a**, and not let go. You won't be able to shake her. That's how you'll know." Which is pretty much exactly what happened to most of the guys I know. LOL. Eventually you get an ultimatum.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 12:41 PM) I have been struggling with the eating as well. I am supposed to be getting around 2600 calories right now (adjusted down a bit after losing some weight from my initial starting point), and it is darn near impossible to eat that much, like you said, without eating Big Mac's and Taco Bell. I'm doing my best with the protein shakes and the yogurt and vegetables, but I usually have to have one heart meal a day, which does have more fat in it than they would like, more carbs in it than they would like, more condiments, etc., but it is the ONLY way I can get anywhere near 2000 calories even. My strategy has basically been to eat cleaner than I was before, but also, as with everything, moderation. I am not going to kill myself or make myself miserable here. I am not trying to be on the infomercial. I just want to get into kick ass shape, and this seems to be getting the job done. After I get through the program once, I may do what you're doing now, Reddy - try to add some bulk. I plan on purchasing the Powerblock adj dumbbells soon, and so that should help in accomplishing that goal. The adjustable dumbells have made it an entirely different experience this time through. Instead of leaning out my arms and shoulders, I am totally adding lean muscle. Its pretty awesome. I also do what Reddy said with the pullups, I do em until I have to use a chair, and still then I get a ton of work done.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 11:52 AM) The one time I ate there in Pasadena I was unimpressed. Worth noting right now, Restaurant.com is running one of their "80% off sales" and so you can get say a $25 credit at a number of restaurants for say $2. The code is PAYPAL. Might involve some searching based on distance/zip code, but a lot of them will have menus online also. I've had it in the Gold Coast many times and its been phenomenal. Not quite Joe's good, but a notch below.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 11:44 AM) We've done Petterino's and Catch 35, but you're on the right track. Something with a touted chef would be fun too, but close enough to Ford that we can eat then hit that at 8pm. mccormick and schmicks is good. Trattoria no.10 and of course down the street, Frontera with one of the best chefs in the world.
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 11:17 AM) Something tasty, open to whatever. It'd be dinner for before a show with the wife. Catch 35. I am going there this friday. Great seafood. Petterinos and 312 are good as well.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 11:14 AM) love that this thread has gotten busy, so i'm gonna join in had Chest/Shoulders/Tris yesterday and damn do i hate that workout. i just hate doing basically every move - haha but hey it gets the job done. i'm nice and sore this morning. fortunately i've been consulted only to do about half of plyo because i'm trying to add bulk, and while plyo is great for slimming and toning, it does the exact opposite of the progress i'm trying to make. so i usually stop after the the third set - with jump knee tucks and mary katherines. on the flip side, i double time both so i'm wasted by the end of it. ok and i'd love to preach the value of yoga. what is it about it you guys don't like? The fact its 90 min and boring as hell. I've taken it out of my routine subbing in more cardio. This is supposed to be my rest week as well, but instead im going to do a few days of doubles and core the other 2.
  24. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 11:56 AM) Oops, lol, I read that thing straight from NBA.com's draft history page too. He hadn't dominated college, but he was being talked about like he was the next LeBron. I'm just saying there's a difference between dominating college (or having the hype of dominating as a freshman prospect) and dominating in the NBA. Check out all the really solid players in the last 10 draft years that went in the lottery. There's only a handful of all time greats in there. I'm not saying he's an all time great, but Turner is doing things at the college level that only some all time greats have done. Doesnt mean he will be, but he's a much better player than those guys mentioned above.
