  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 10:56 AM) Pippen was arguably HOF and top 50 of all time. I just think its premature to suggest that Turner is a better leader or star than Pippen, considering Turner hasnt played a single NBA game. If Turner turns out to be as good as Pippen hed have an amazing career. Just seems odd to already be suggesting hes better. Clearly you didnt understand my point. They are different players, I never said he was better than Pippen, you took it to that level. Turner is the heart and soul of a team, its personality. Pippen was more of a recluse. On the court they have similar skills, but IMO they are different players. THATS the point, I wasnt saying anything about who is better since Turner is still in college and that would be foolish.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 10:11 AM) Not sure that Pippen was second fiddle in College. He averaged 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4.3 assists as a senior. If Evan Turner gets drafted by a team with Lebron James, hes going to be second fiddle. Its not a knock on Turner, but hes unlikely to be the best player of his generation, which Jordan was. At Central Arkansas....Yeah thats true, but even when Scottie was on his own he showed serious lack of leadership during crucial moments.
  3. scored 4 for each day vs the Cubs, which means some lucky SOB will be sitting in my seats during those games.
  4. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 09:28 PM) Turner to me is like Scottie Pippen. Just a stat sheet stuffer. And can play almost any position on the floor. Except he's a leader and the star, Scottie was a second fiddle.
  5. Evan Turner is easily the best player I've seen at OSU since Jim Jackson, I would put him up there with Glen Robinson, Deron Williams etc in the Mt Rushmore of the conference. Unreal player.
  6. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Feb 6, 2010 -> 10:53 AM) Darn right. Jerry as far as I know, paid for his own stadium. Me thinks Ricketts should not have bought the team. He's trying to get everyone else to pay for them and will be cutting payroll two years in a row. They won't fire Hendry, even though he doesn't fit in with that philosophy because it would cost more money to do so and replace him. "WE are the Cubs, pay for our company" Get the f*** outta here. Guess what, you ARE the Cubs, you havent won s***, nobody outside of your crappy uninformed fanbase gives a s*** about watching you in Spring Training. Enjoy another terrible season.
  7. Well, I guess i picked a bad game to sit 5th row from the glass. I f***ing hate Aucoin and seeing him win a game pissed me off more than anything.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 07:47 PM) Oh wow...a double with plyo is insane....gotta hand it to you on that one... I did yoga tonight and felt like a complete slacker because I shut it off after the basic balance poses. Yoga is terrible, the vinyasas are the only real value IMO. I've pretty much completely cut that out for either vball or another plyo session.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 09:55 AM) I hope the kid realizes that Kiffin is gonna leave USC for another job way before the kid steps foot on campus. He'll get canned before then.
  10. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 02:41 AM) Anybody do the long distance thing? Ive been with my girlfriend for over two years, from senior year in high school to present and about a hear and half of that has been long distance. Ive been at UIllinois and she went to GVSU her freshman year and is now at Purdue. I still have feelings for her (which astounds me still) but this whole long distance thing is really getting to me. There are some periods where I cant stand it and other times I dont mind it. Im back in that I cant stand it stage though. I did it for several years while in college, its literally the worst idea ever. Talk about jealously, fights, etc. I would have broken up with her if I could do it ever again. And this was someone that I was crazy about. Move on for the time being, if its meant to be, you'll hook up when you are local some day.
  11. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) This has to be the most depressing thread ever. Besides the stupid Jayhawks, nobody's team seems to be doing well this season. Nah, my favorite player is making a run at POY, and my Bucks just tied for 2nd in the conference. Maybe its just you.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 08:46 PM) I didn't describe them right. I mean the last exercise in the routine...the one Drea does like 25 of and pisses off Tony. AH, side-tri-rise. Love it. Shoulders and Arms and ARX tonight, crushed it! Did a double with morning plyo, dont try that one at home! Tried to double with vball and S&A last night, didnt work out.
  13. www.mlbtraderumors.com well, they just got better. Bigger signing than Thome.
  14. Soooo.. a day after NLOI day, the Florida DC quits. How long till Urban officially takes his leave.
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 12:24 PM) Perhaps I'm a conspiracy theorist here, but it seems to me a little unbelievable that the one conference which just signed a multi-billion dollar TV contract with a certain "worldwide leader" has gotten more and more pub over this than any other. Is it really because these programs are better (and if so, why?), or because they want to hype up a product? I get that a lot of talent is in the south, where players play basically year round, and it makes more sense for them to stay near home, but the disparity here is a bit alarming. Eh, sometimes they mean something, sometimes they dont. The coaching staff still has more to do with they results anyway. 2006 1. USC 2.Fla 3.Tex 4. Georgia 5. ND 2007 1. Fla 2. USC 3. Texas 4. Tenn 5. LSU 2008 1. Bama 2. ND 3. Miami 4. OSU 5. Georgia 2009 1. OSU 2. Bama 3. LSU 4. Georgia 5. UCLA If you look at top tens you'll see teams like Michigan, Pitt, South Carolina, etc. Sometimes the talent eval is dead on, other times its spotty. The one consistent you'll see is teams with good coaches take the talent they are given and succeed. The most consistent predictor of success is the coach.
  16. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 10:07 PM) Apparently. That's why I was surprised. Also, any of you Big 10 guys worried about the fact that the entire conference brought in 1 5-star prospect (Gholston to Michigan St)? I don't see how that can happen. Florida, Auburn, Alabama, LSU, and Tennessee all had at least 1 5-star guy in their classes alone. Really a down year for the Big 10 in recruiting. OSU brought in 1 as well, Andrew Norwell. PSU brought in 3 and Michigan and MSU both had 1.
  17. I didnt think Huet had a bad game at all, the defense did however. He let in one goal that maybe he could have saved, the other two were ridiculous redirections, including one off Seabs shin to the very corner of the goal where Huet was screened. Keith, Seabs, Soup and Hjalms played terrible.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 07:47 PM) I didn't think it was weird. Looked like you've been doing some good work. Shoulders & Arms today...damn those lying down tricep raises....so hard to do them without cheating... Those are my fav exercise. Rocking 30's on those today.
  19. That was a quiet anthem. Must be new fan night.
  20. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 03:55 PM) Answers to the questions. 1) Simple crush. Kind of like I figured. 2) Not ready to date yet (aka friendzoned). Also kind of the vibe I was feeling. Yeah, not sure what I'm going to do now, but it will all come in time. Just going to keep my options open, and if something with another girl comes up, I'll pursue it. Lets be honest, she should be begging you to be with her, if she doesnt see that, some other hot broad will and make her regret it.
  21. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 10:55 AM) There's a new rule this year in the SEC in which no team can sign more than 28 players in a class. This basically happened b/c of what Ole Miss did last year, so you won't be seeing numbers like that tip the scales so much anymore. Sooooo. when does that take effect? LSU has 29, Auburn has 32, Bama 29 etc
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 10:51 AM) Looks like a really poor year recruiting for the Big 10 (well on paper from internet rankings anyways). Michigan and OSU both with down classes, and PSU with the only really good class. Numbers-wise they did terrible. Ohio State lost out on pretty much every top 25 guy they went after hard. PSU only picked up 20 guys. Avg star wise they did ok. Ohio State didnt have many open spots and ended up 7th, with PSU 4th and UM 13.
  23. Of most of the people I know who are married, alot were before 25, and I would say half are divorced if not more and several feel "stuck." Make sure you are doing it for the right reason and not just because you are supposed to or because everyone else is doing it.
  24. Looks like the BUcks arent getting anyone they need, James to ND, Moses to UVA and looks like Henderson to USC.
  25. Way to go Wisco. Michigan has to be one of the biggest disappointments in the country.
