QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 11:36 PM) I've seen ripping of Chris Williams in this thread, but Williams' scouting reports said that he was quick and athletic but not overpowering, a good pass blocker, but mediocre run blocker. Meaning he should be a LT, not an RT. Pace is playing LT mostly because of his name but Williams never profiled very well to be a RT. Square peg, round hole. Williams isnt the problem, and BOTH tackles are crappy run blockers, which isnt ideal. Pile on top of that the hole at LG and the aging C and the non-pass blocking RG and you have a ton of issues. If we have a good run blocking RT our running game would be alot better, and thats where I think people are confused about Williams. Its not that he is bad, its just he's in a bad spot. -

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 28, 2009 -> 07:18 AM) For all of you having a contest about what college head coach is the biggest tool, just be happy you didn't have to live through Jim Walden telling you the team is losing because they are wearing do-rags under their helmets. Jim Walden >>>>>>>>>>> ALL on the college football head coach tool scale. John Cooper. "Michigan is just another game." Idiot -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 07:51 PM) Yeah. That DVD's going in right now. Yup, I watched it too.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Oct 28, 2009 -> 11:21 AM) The "drunk and consensual" defense worked out pretty well for wealthy Adrian Missbrenner and his other scumbag Burr Ridge buddies who actually videotaped their gang bang of a Naperville girl at his home in 2002. At one point, Missbrenner fled the country ala Roman Polanksi to escape prosecution. After he surrendered and returned, his smart lawyer played the video frame by frame at his trial, and created reasonable doubt by pointing out shots where she was supposedly "smiling" (this was the case where at one point Judge Kerry Kennedy threatened to jail the woman if she did not watch the tape of her alleged assault during cross examination). Missbrenner was found not guilty. If defendants have money, never underestimate the possiblity of acquittal. I forgot about that bulls***. f***ers. And what loser 20 year olds hang out at HS dances? Get a f***ing life.

f***ing ridiculous. I would have stomped out those kids if I saw something like that. I have the unfortunate experience of seeing an attempted rape in college and it was immediately stopped by several people.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 05:02 PM) I don't understand the fascination with Nix. We already had this type of player on this team before, Uribe. And he drove me nuts. The main difference is Uribe played plus defense at 3 positions and actually did hit 20 dongs in a season. Ha, I never put 2 and 2 together, Nix is alot like Uribe.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 01:44 PM) Its official. Iowa lost its co-starting RB, Adam Robinson (True Freshman) for the season. That leaves them with Wegher (True Freshman and the other Co-Starter), Paki (not that good), and Rogers (True-Fresh that was being redshirted). I have to believe they are going to be forced to pull the red-shirt on Rogers and hope they can get to the Ohio State game un-beaten and hope that Wegher stays healthy and that Rogers can prove to be solid as well. This is a huge huge loss for the Hawkeyes who already suffered a massive loss at the start of the season when there stud Hampton was lost for the year. What made Hampton a stud again? You keep saying he was their stud RB, but I wasnt positive where that came from. He didnt do all that much last year because Greene was the man, and he wasnt highly recruited either. I am just wondering, not baiting. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 11:37 AM) Dallas Lauderdale to the NBA really? A guy who had terrible rebounding numbers and has shown no offensive ability? Do you mean David Lighty? Because he hasn't shown anything in his first three years injury or not which would lead one to believe he is heading to the NBA. He had a lofty ranking coming out of HS and he certainly could have a huge SR year but his production to this point has been extremely mediocre. Yes, I think he has an NBA future. i see you looked up his soph year stats, I am not basing it on his stats. He had an NBA body as a soph in really his second year of serious basketbal development. I see him as an NBA ready guy in two years. Lighty did not play last year FYI, he was a med redshirt. -
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 01:08 AM) The campus recruiters were talking up alot about SAP work so I figured that would be a good path to follow, plus it sounds interesting and there seems to be a good market for people who have SAP experience. This company is growing on me, everybody I have met has been extremely friendly and real, and they have been really generous to. Theyre reimbursing all interviewees for travel expenses up to their location, which was really unexpected. Hope it turns out well. SAP is the 800 pound gorilla in the ERP space. If you know it, there will be work.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 10:17 PM) Do they really like HP? Yea, thats pretty much what I said in my first interview, I said that I worked with SOP and CSV mainly but was interested in learning about SAP and other parts of IT. I did really well in the first interview, the guy even said that my resume was fantastic and I had the exact personality they were looking for. Not bad for my first campus interview! I feel like they are a good company to work for, supportive yet demanding for top quality work, exactly what Im looking for. Yes, large HP shop. SAP is a good in there, they have many ASUG members that go to meetings and events. Its a well organized dept.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 07:43 PM) So I have been invited up to Lake Forest, IL for a second interview after having a terrific on campus one. Its for an IT internship at WW Grainger. Anybody have experiences with these types of interviews or advice? I really have no idea what to expect. The first interview was standard HR, behavioral/personality type questions. At Grainger? Mention how much you love HP. Then I wouldnt focus on what skills you have now because most likely you will have to relearn alot of stuff, be honest focus on how you pick up things and also what you want to do next after this position. You'll kill it if you are well spoken and honest.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 07:30 PM) No disrespect to anyone posting in this thread, but I am not sure any of us have anywhere near the expertise required to accurately claim whether the Tampa 2 or Cover 2 defense has been solved by opposing offenses. The NFL is such a competitive league. The most minor of advantages or adjustments can create such mismatches or make a scheme look absolutely horrible when in fact only minor adjustments are necessary. I know enough to tell that having Urlacher would help a lot, but what I don't know (and seriously doubt any of us can know) is whether this style of defense has run its course in the NFL or not. I suspect it has not. I happen to believe our issue is personnel related, especially considering the injuries we have in our linebacking corps as well as our currently weak line play. But that's just me. I dont think it has AT ALL. Its just the bears dont have the key players to make it successful. They have terrible db's, inexperienced safeties and an awful linebacking core. You cant run a good cover 2 with a good dline and ONE good LB, you just cant. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 04:58 PM) Because no one uses Rivals for basketball. They're 16 on Scout, 14th on RSCI. gotcha, too much football recruiting reading. One thing that the conference has in basketball that they dont have in football though : Top notch coaching from almost top to bottom. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 11:47 AM) The Bears have always traditionally been built from the lines out. The defensive line is having injury issues, but the offensive line is exactly that... offensive. The secondary is easily one of the worst I've seen in many years. When Tillman is considered your shut down corner, you know you have an issue. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 04:55 PM) Actually for all the comments against the Big 10, Big 10 players have pretty good success in the NFL. I believe its because they run pro style offenses and play in all weather conditions. Big 10 even produces a good amount of QB's for the NFL. Wisconsin has at least 2 back ups and they were barely even fringe Big 10 players. My comment was meant to say that the Big 10 produces a lot of NFL talent, so they must be doing something right. http://www.bigtennetwork.com/news/article....TORY_ID=3225114 -
Sorry, I like to ignore. PM me. I am sure if either you sent me blank Dvd's or if I purchased some from bullk that we could work something out. Problem is that I have switched from my PC to a new Mac and im not sure how to copy encrypted DVD's with this yet.

QUOTE (Felix @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 04:28 PM) Wow. While I realize the Big 10 is a very improved conference, I think you're drunk if you think Wisconsin and Ohio State are going to end up better than Minnesota this year. We've got a legit chance to be third in the conference and make some serious noise in the NCAA Tournament. We return 9 players from last year after losing a couple of dead weights (Abu-Shamala, Payton, Williams) and adding a legit top 15 recruiting class (White, Williams, Cobbs, Mbakwe [assuming he plays]). Add in the development of our freshman big men from last year, and we're going to be a very, very dangerous team this year. I saw them ranked as 24th on rivals, why did you move them up 9 spots? And I think OSU has a decent chance to end up where he put them based on the talent they put on the court, having Evan Turner and William Buford back makes them dangerous enough. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 02:57 PM) Clay is solid, as is Royster from PSU actually, but those guys really aren't difference makers at RB. The Big 10 really needs to improve their recruiting at the skill positions. Out of the top 4 RB's that came out last year to the NFL, 2 were from the Big Ten. The Big Ten has been producing some good WR's as well. I wouldl argue the lack of QB play in the conference is a big reason why it has been down for a few years, but the Big Ten recruits alot of top tier talent, especially from the south. No school outside of the state of Florida recruits more top players than OSU from that talent rich state. -

Da is right, both Bama and Fla could have their way with any team in the Big Ten. Not only do they have the best defensive teams in the country, but offensively they can move the ball. I think a Big Ten team would have many many issues putting the ball in the end zone on both teams.
