QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 11:28 AM) the Twins had 10 days after the WS to pick up an option for the 2011 season. My answer: its a 1000% lock the Twins will pick it up. He is one of the Clubhouse leaders, and a Twins company man (he is the chair of a few Charities and stuff like that). the the Twins really have no right handed power threat besides him. Gotcha, Do you think they will deal Young? I know he has fallen out of favor up there. Otherwise their off season could be done financially.

Sox acquire Mark Teahen, $$$ for Getz/Fields

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 11:32 AM) For the first time in years, this lineup needs some pop. I would have taken Matsui if he didnt just go and increase his price tag in one game. -

QUOTE (tommy @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 11:31 AM) Still no real base stealing threat in that lineup. Rios and Hudson, with a touch from the bench guys, Alexei and Beckham. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 11:25 AM) The Sox will be going after one of the 2nd basemen in the FA market. Nix will be the back-up again, and Teahen will be playing RF for the Sox next year. I think Orlando Hudson is the likely 2nd baseman for the Sox next year. Hudson plays 2B and leads off? OF consists of Q, Rios and Teahen. Not great, but not terrible if you are just trying to put a team on the field to support your good pitching. We still need a DH, preferably left handed and a pen arm or two. -
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 11:19 AM) And the crazies begin.... Conservative Says Hasan Acted On Orders Of Muslim Brotherhood Well on the news today they said that the army was aware of him posting on extremist message boards about suicide bombers being heroes. It really might not be that far off. And BTW, this guy was someone who counseled PTSD cases from Iraq when they got back. Why in the f*** would the army assign a guy who looks like the enemy to work with soldiers who are suffering from trauma from being shot at by people that look like him? It seems like a stupid move.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 11:20 AM) God, i hope it's the 1st. If we really moved a good kid like Getz, because Dye took issue with some generic, young comment of his then i've lost a lot of respect for this organization. Clearly they saw the need to add more versatility and also a bigger LH bat than Getz. I think we are looking at a Dye for 2 players scenario salary-wise. Right now we have I believe 74 million committed for next season? -
QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 11:16 AM) I dont know what to make of this. I loved Gomez's defense, but he couldn't hit for anything. So the OF for the Twins next year looks to be Delmon Young in LF, Denard Span in CF, Mike Cuddyer in RF. I would of preferred LF-Span, CF-Gomez RF-Cuddyer Are they going to re-up Cuddyer?

Classic relationship mistake is faking something because later it will come out that you lied. Better to be yourself and the lady can take it or leave it. It will work out better for you in the long run. Most people try to hard to cover up their true selves through the first many months or even years of a relationship when its really better to just be yourself in the first place and if they arent a good fit then they can go kick rocks. My suggestion: Insult Tyler Perry, ridicule her for going to see that trash, and then tell her that if she needs some lovin, text you later.

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 11:08 AM) J.J. Hardy is awful, I'm very happy to see this trade from a Sox perspective. Essentially the Twins got JJ Hardy for Johan Santana. Epic Fail.

RockRaines replied to pmcochr's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Considerin Teahen's salary is not that much and is predictable over the next 2 years, I think KW has seen that he can have 2 players at the cost of Jermaine Dye and will sign either another pen arm, a Cuban player or will use that cost savings to make a free agent signing of a middle of the road or 2 year player at DH. Teahen and Kotsay have basically every backup position covered outside of 2, and we really need a LHP out of the pen. -
YES!!! Thank god we dont have to face that Sox killer. I'll take facing JJ hardy every day of the week over Gomez.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 09:10 AM) what I think he was trying to do is the condescending fist to the chin pose(sort of like the Thinking Man) and he just had his own take on it. Whatever it was, it was plainly obvious that he was telling the officials they were wrong, when for once, they were right. Even after the game Mike Brown was saying "Maybe I dont understand the rule, I will have to have that rule explained to me..." what rule? The contact was initiated by LBJ, he lost the ball out of bounds, end of story. No rules bended or broken, your star f***ed up and you lost. Get over it. It wouldnt even be that close if the Bulls would have gotten some calls correct. Miller was fouled going up for a shot in the 4th quarter and they get the ball out of bounds at half court. LBJ gets fouled, takes 3 more steps, and they count the basket. WTF? Even Albert and Miller were saying he travelled and it shouldnt of counted. Shaq goes block crazy and starts knocking people down, and he ends the game with 2 fouls. It just doesnt make sense sometimes. Shaq's block was hilarious. He ran into Gibson's arms and torso before he even made contact with the ball. Then he stood over him like it was a great play. Frankly it was a great play by a rookie who went up strong against him and was clearly fouled. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 07:25 AM) Shaq blocked Miller clean, but he bodied Gibson and also had arm contact. Plus he stood over the top of him afterwards, Shaq was getting star calls all night. That last play, Noah and Deng did not make any contact with LBJ until he had already fumbled the ball away. I would be very interested to hear what Lebron was saying after the game when he went out into the middle of the court to talk to someone(the ref?) with that overacted look on his face and the pose he made. It made it even weirder that he appeared to be smelling his fingers when talking to the ref, maybe thats the new thing? -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 09:51 PM) Bulls got a generous call there at the end. Win's a win though. Oh and Deng's ball definitely did hit the rim. It ended up evening out. Yeah right, that wasnt even close to a foul. It was a correct call. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 4, 2009 -> 09:26 AM) Granted its a small 5-game sample size, but so far this season Greg Oden is averaging just under 23 minutes per game, 6.8 pts, 9.8 boards, 2.2 blocks, 4.8 fouls, 3.2 turnovers. Think the Blazers might regret passing on Durant now... Remember he was injured, but I think it was pretty obvious the guy wasnt going to become a dynamic scorer right away. -

I am a big Tyrus fan, but we have to deal him, hopefully to someone who overvalues him. It's pretty obvious the organization thinks Gibson is his replacement. -
Shoulders/Arms today, didnt have the energy for Abs, still getting over the flu I guess. Anyone have interest in starting a 60-ish day support group aiming towards being healthy for Jan 1?
