QUOTE (Cali @ Mar 7, 2009 -> 05:23 PM) Man, Phillipe Aumont has some NASTY stuff. WOW. Give him a few more years and watch out... yep and hes only 20....he was a first rounder for a reason
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 7, 2009 -> 04:05 PM) God love Kenny Williams, but that trade and extension of MacDougal is right up there as his worst move as GM. yeah turned out to be pretty bad...but don't forget how good macdougal was down the stretch in 06 for us when we gave him the extension...its too bad he's lost all command...though thats basically teh danger of giving middle relievers contracts based on relatively small sample sizes
  3. QUOTE (ChesterCopperpot @ Mar 7, 2009 -> 03:51 PM) Clayton looks great on Gameday. when he commands the ball, hes gonna get alot of ground ball outs...the more i see of him the more i like him...

thornton throwing some ched....looks in midseason form already
  8. man clayton just looks good out there..confident and comfortable....when he is throwing strikes like he is now hes pretty effective, won't really blow anyone away or be an ace, but a solid back end guy...makes me feel good should Colon or Contreras go down nice play by Dayan

Youuuuuuk! im so biased toward the AL....i feel like i am going to unfairly give the NL players (peavy) more blame if we lose, and the AL players more praise if we win...

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 7, 2009 -> 04:09 PM) Dude, he's Derek Jeter. According to Sutcliffe, just taking batting practice with Derek Jeter before the game inspired Kevin Youkliss to drive a single into left field in the 1st. Remember Jeter ain't far off from Jesus. haha im glad someone called sutcliffe out on that....i literally wanted to reach through the tv an punch him in the face when i heard that...though i think he said it about the mccann sac fly, not youk

  15. owens LF, Wise CF, Dye RF, Konerko 1b, AJ C, Betemit DH, Viciedo 3b, Getz 2b, Torres SS facing padilla owens bunts into an out on 1st pitch
  16. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Mar 7, 2009 -> 05:14 AM) That's a pretty bold statement. I'm not saying that he's going to win any gold gloves but you can see that he takes great routes to the ball and gets good jumps which makes up for his diminishing speed. He also still has a good arm. Just because he's old doesn't mean that he can't play defense. I think that he's head and shoulders above many other starting RF's in the game right now- Abreu, Vlad Guerrero, Magglio, Mark Tehean, Geoff Jenkins and Milton Bradley are the ones that come to mind who I think JD is better than overall defensively. it may be bold...but its also correct...dye, while at one point in his career was solid out there, is a bad RF now
  17. i can't believe you guys didnt like season 6..there were some bad epsidoes, i'll grant you that...but the anonymous donor and the therapist i thought were two of the best in the series...the last one of the season i didnt like at first, but after watching it again i really thought it was funny too...i laughed so hard at so many of the leon scenes....the line in "the ida funkhouser memorial" where larry says marty funkhouser isn't his best friend...oh man i laughed for like 10 minutes
  18. i wonder if we just gave them rote for the day since they were burning through their pitchers, and thats why rote doesn't have a number, cuz he's not on their roster i found online
  19. did the announcer say ryan rote is pitching? as in the ryan rote from our organization?...didn't know he was australian ....hes from milwaukee
  20. these ausssies are really having a tough time making contact
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 05:13 PM) What did Slayer do this AB? BB after a 1-2 count
  22. by august beckham will be leading off IMO
  23. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 04:57 PM) I know he'll be 39 years old but Brian Giles would actually be a good top of the lineup hitter. Walks a ton, doesn't strikeout at all and hits a ton of doubles. There's a reason why Epstein/James tried to get him last August. .891 OPS away from Petco last year
