  1. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 05:01 PM) Just really aggressive batters right now. i think gameday isn't tracking every pitch, but rather just the ones that something happens on
  2. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 04:58 PM) Gave up three runs in one inning on 12 pitches. Including a walk. well JVB so far has 5 pitches and 4 outs...both are extremely difficult stat lines to attain edit : i think im a bit slow..it doesn't appear gameday is tracking the pitches....
  3. man sox wasted no time getting after rauch there...lots of first pitch swinging
  4. QUOTE (ChesterCopperpot @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 04:23 PM) Too bad there's no radio. I wanted to hear Viciedo's bat crack. Getz walks. i really think the 2nd base competition is going to be really tight all spring long...getz has the plate discipline, Lillibridge the Speed, Nix probably has the best power of the three and maybe the D....
  5. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 04:19 PM) Dayan's first bomb off Jon Garland hell yeah
  6. someone on the sox reached on error in the first, but nothing beyond that...2 Ks in first inning for Danks
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 02:49 PM) Where'd you find that? He must either be taking it easy or was working on cutting his fastball. first outing of ST, im sure hes just getting going and working on location...

    Headphones/Earbuds

ive had awful luck with earbuds...i guess they just aren't built to last...have had sony ones...and one bud went out after like 3 months...same thing with another generic brand name i had....I love the Bose ones...perfect fit in my ear and the adjustable sizes are nice (I have tiny ears...the regular Ipod ear buds don't fit into my ear, at least not so that they can stay in place) they also sound great...but same thing happened...one bud went out...tried to resauder them, but it was difficult and didnt really work...i liked those so much though i got another pair and they have been good so far.... I also had some Phillips noise canceling ones that fit on ear....they sounded nice, but the noise canceling thing is basically a crock...they also crapped out on me after like 6 months
  11. and this ball game is ovah! looks like a nice job from the pitchers today....Floyd Broadway Egbert and Carassco all go 2....only 7 hits, 6 of them singles...(1 2b off of floyd)..Kruger and Miller helped themselves out as did lillibridge
  12. we used to heckle him at vandy calling him "hook"...evidently it drove him nuts...some guys in high school made fun of him with that nickname...and he wasnt too happy with the vandy player who gave us the dirt on him....so go ahead and call him slayer, just dont call him hook
  13. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 06:13 PM) Anyone see Slayer as a possible leadoff guy when he hits the big leagues? He certainly has shown the tools from what I've seen and heard so far he certainly could leadoff...he's not going to be "prototypical" leadoff hitter like ichiro...probably won't steal more than 20-25 bases....but absolutely ...i actually think its a very good spot for him if he shows patience like i believe he will ....I'm thinkin sort of like a right handed hitting Curtis Granderson....he could also hit 2nd as previously suggested
  14. lillibridge with a hit and SB...corky miller also had a double
  15. no offense northside, but you completely butchered the start time in the thread title....4:10 CT and 3:10 local? more like 2:10 central and 1:10 local lol
  16. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 02:53 PM) Floyd, Carrasco, Egbert, Broadway, Nunez, German all scheduled to pitch today. i think broadway is a darkhorse to make the team as a long man in the pen this year....youd think the organization has soured on him as a starter, especially with poreda, marquez, richard on the way, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they take a guy who can eat innings for when Colon/Jose pitch...while keeping those other young guys as starters in AAA (or in the case of Richard as a lefty in the pen)

    LOST!!!!

Also, how does Locke know about Eloise Hawking? I know Faraday told Desmond to go see her, but I don't recall anything with Locke...am I forgetting something?
  18. according to a good friend...Wood was in the trainers room on Day 2 of ST getting treatment for that sore back LOL
  19. oh and these sites are pretty cool... http://sports.espn.go.com/travel/news/story?id=2909745 i've been in 2 of those 10 seats.. http://www.baseballpilgrimages.com/ theres obviously plenty of cool sites on the topic
  20. A thread is PHT got me thinking about which MLB stadiums you've been to, and what did you think of them? I've been to....(in order of which I liked most) PNC - Saw two games. absolutely amazing experience. Did the stadium tour, sat in club section along 1st base line (best seats - get the view and the special food in the concourse). its not just the bridge and the Pitt skyline though, the statue's to Clemente, Stargell, Wagner are awesome, the Negro League museum, and just the entire stadium....aesthetically pleasing. Everything was thought out extremely well in this stadium. Good food too Fenway - Been to 4 games. Definitely has the mystique about it. The Monster, the passion of the fans, the sweet caroline, its all pretty neat. The concourse is miniature and tough to get around, and you cant walk all the way around due to the monster...but the area around the stadium is just as cool..Lansdowne, Yawkey way, Cask N Flagn Comerica - Pleasantly surprised by it. Thought it was definitely a cool place to see a game. Great feel to it. Felt small even though it was huge. Great Concourse, good food. Cool museum area with statues to Tigers greats. If you can tolerate being in the city of Detroit for 3 hours, the Comerica is the place to do it. Great American - Had high hopes and was disappointed. thought most of the stadium looked like the Cell pre-renovations. OF scoreboard and RF area is kind of cool, but it would have been cooler if it was 100 feet closer to the river. Food was ok..Skyline chili is gross though. Progressive - meh. Not much to say about. Plus I was hammered. Looks better from outside than inside. Was empty when I was there...food stunk. For whatever reason didn't have that "it" quality i thought it would have when I used to see Jacobs on TV. Not sure where Id rank US Cellular since I'm biased. Things I love about the Cell though - great concourse, great food, fan deck, patio/bullpen sports bar. Went to yankee stadium to try to scalp tickets, but scalpers wanted 100 for bleacher seats (where you can't drink) so we watched from a bar across the street, but from the exterior it was definitely awesome. Wish I would have gone now that its closed. Never been to Wrigley, probably never will. This summer I plan on getting to new Busch, Turner, Miller park, maybe Metrodome,
  21. QUOTE (Sec101Row1 @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 11:57 PM) The White Sox play the Reds on June 19-21 (fri-sun) in Cincy. Tickets go on sale this sat. at 9am ET. Anyone ever been to the Great American Ballpark ? Looks like a great stadium. yeah i went there with very high hopes because i thought it looked like a cool stadium as well....i must say, it disappointed me a bit...the OF scoreboard and area you can walk around is kinda cool, and they have the ferry that goes by now and then i believe...but honestly the rest of the stadium reminded me of us cellular before the renovations ....its big, concrete and not very attractive IMO...i was pretty disappointed with it ....though i must admit in the 3 days prior, i was at Comerica in detroit, and PNC in Pittsburgh for 2 games....PNC was out of this world, and I even liked Comerica better than Great American
  22. in no way am i suggesting he should be the starter, but im just curious if Kroger can play CF? if he rakes this spring and everyone else falters, can he play there? or is he strictly a corner guy?
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 11:58 AM) If you're making double-digit returns with a guy who is politically connected up the Wazoo, hanging out with Congressmen, Ex-Presidents, taking them on Junkets to the Caribbean, etc., why would you look a gift horse in the mouth? maybe im just ultra skeptical after the whole madoff thing, but id be leary of anyone who promises double digit returns year in and year out...also its still inexcusable to not at least have enough money for living expenses in some sort of safer account...hell id imagine he at least would have some nice real estate somewhere
  24. man the mavericks really have to be kicking themselves for trading harris
