  1. QUOTE (WCSox @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) I don't understand Ozzie's fascination with Dotel. Sure, he's improved significantly since the first month or so, but still. I want Linebrink in there to face Maggs and Cabrera. im not gonna complain....dotel has been fantastic since just after his first game of the year.....not to mention he made cabrera and maggs look silly yesterday....in a tie game i was completely fine with dotel being in tbere
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 02:13 PM) Correct me if I'm wrong, but last time he faced, didn't we get about 6 runs off of him in 4 innings? yeah we got him good earlier this year when he didnt have any command...but historically we struggle against him or any other soft tossing lefty with a decent changeup
  3. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 02:12 PM) They are 8 games out. That's not what I would call 'in' it. theyre certainly not out of it....
  4. a horribly mismanaged game by ozzie in game 1 set the tone for this series...we never touch rogers so the loss today was predictable ...then the middle game verlander beat us.... i dont know why any other team in the majors will throw fastballs to our guys...
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 09:42 PM) This is such a trap series, and I was worried all day we'd get swept (shocking, I know). This Tigers offense is not the same pathetic team we saw earlier in the year. i posted the exact same thing on page 2 of this thread
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:37 PM) Ozzie and Jeff Cox were awful tonight...we can only hope they both learned something and won't repeat what they did. between the bunt, the 2 caught stealings, the throw out at home thats 4 outs given away add to it the 1 run contreras gave up pitching in the 7th when he had no business doing so, and the 2 driven in by cabrera when we had no business pitching to him, and the dropped play at the plate by AJ (which was a tough play, but one that needs to be made)...i hope they learn quick verlander scares me tomorrow...that game has gem written all over it
  7. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:35 PM) I agree with this but I don't think it's our manager's fault that we lost today. The guy who had been our ace to start the season just did not show up at all today. i agree contreras takes some of hte blame...but if he had a manager today he would have had a QS....cant ask for too much more out of jose, especially on a day where he really didnt have it
  8. QUOTE (premo @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) It's hilarious how worried and upset people get over one loss. It's baseball. You aren't going to win every game. nobodys worried...but people have a right to be upset over games against division rivals that are given away....of course we arent going to win every game, but it would be nice to only lose the games in which the opposition outplayed us and that our manager didnt cost us at least 2, but probably closer to 4 runs
  9. im sure hawk is slurping todd jones right about now
  10. good decision to go to boone here....granderson just 3-17 off of lefties of course boone has to throw strikes...ugh
  11. QUOTE (quickman @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:23 PM) I am not sure why i burn Dotel for two innings here. Seems silly in a losing situation. he only threw 17 pitches....im ok with it, he hadnt pitched in a day or two also
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:23 PM) Sick Dotel, sick. Cmon Booney if there was a guy on third with 0 outs and i had to go to 1 reliever in chicago...i would consider goin to dotel over marmol
  13. konerko used to turn 96 mph heat around with ease...couldnt even come close to that...
  14. cq is due...how bout a base hit kid come on
  15. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 09:04 PM) Should of started the inning. no doubt about it...when we are losing and on the road...in all probabilty we would only need the bullpen for 2 innings...and the pen is pretty fresh given how we dominated minny....jose was terrible and ozzie made just another bone headed move by sending him out there especially considerin that part of the tigers lineup has OWNED him in his career
  16. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 09:01 PM) Well he can't be great every night. certainly not...and realistically if ozzie made the obvious managing decisions jose would have had 6 IP and 3 ER...a QS thank you leyland
  17. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:58 PM) I still don't get why they pitched to Cabrera with a base open....let the rookie beat you. bunted in the first inning (drives me nuts, even if AJ did it on his own).....tried to steal third with pudge behind the plate and the 3 hitter up (even if OC did it on his own), stole with alexei twice (worked out once though, still didnt agree with it at the time, though it was nice it worked out) left jose out to die..... all that on top of the inexcusable pitching to cabrera
  18. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:57 PM) This is bad managing tonight. Whats the purpose of leaving him in to get destroyed. this is beyond bad managing tonight.....this is the single worst managed baseball game ive seen in a long time...im sure there will be replies saying wow people really overreact when we lose....but ozzie/our club has made so many bad decisions tonight its not even funny.... GET HIM OUT OF THERE
  19. nice pitch..but jose has been awful and our pen is relatively well rested....with guillen maggs and cabrera up (all own jose lifetime) no reason he should still be in this game
  20. QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:48 PM) Dolsi's first major league pitch was hit over the center-field fence in Comerica Park for a home run by Manny Ramirez. detroit announcers are saying he was really good against the tribe in the last series
  21. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:47 PM) What's the scouting report on this Dolsi? dont know, but he has 9 Ks and 8 BBs in 12 IP.....so he can be wild....dont help him out alexei
  22. come on alexei...we need 1...bust your ass outa that box
