  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 04:31 PM) Aramis is one of the best clutch hitters in all of baseball. In that situation, he's about as dangerous as it gets. ugh its just unbelievably frustrating to sit and watch the replays of him and lee sitting on everything on the outer half....lees HR and deep fly out were balls on the outer half hit to right and both of ramirezs HRs were outer half of the plate with him diving out to get em....i hope contreras runs that 2 seamer in on them all day tomorrow
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 04:27 PM) You fault him for giving his SP a chance to win the game by bringing on one of his best relievers? Thats just hindsight working against your intelligence there. Crede doesnt bunt. And Line through a sinker down and in, not even the two same pitches. watch the replay...it was a fastball low and away...ramirez was clearly leaning out over the plate looking fastball (as the cubs were all game) and he crushed it
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 04:23 PM) Except for 3 or 4 games this year, Dotel has pretty much been unhittable. The 7th inning is his. The 8th would have been Linebrink's and the 9th would have been Jenks'. It didn't work out. It doesn't always. I don't like Ozzie as a manager, but I can't fault him today. well said
  4. would someone please f***ing brush back ramirez or lee? my blind grandpa can see that all those two do is lean out over the plate looking for something on the outer half to drive
  5. just saw this nugget....IN ADDITION to playing in the AAAA league called the national league...the cubs have played a grand total of 17 games against teams over .500 vs. 55 games against teams under .500
  6. QUOTE (RibbieRubarb @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 10:56 AM) BTW, I want to congratulate all who hate Jay who visit his column on-line or buy the paper to read him. You helped him get his new 3-year deal. If you don't like him...don't read him. will the suntimes still be around in 3 years?
  7. doesnt this guys arm get tired from constantly trying to stir the pot so much? or is his arm so strong from his non stop masturbation over anything that could possibly even be made into a controversy... hes trying to do this to boil our blood...just dont read him and move on that said the guy is a grade A douche
  8. just for the record AL is up 7-2 tonight with one more still to be decided...that pushes the record to 74-50... that really is a huge difference
  9. no DPs pablo...lets get one home here at least
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 05:02 AM) As of June 19, who leads the White Sox in batting average? is there a minimum ABs requirement? if so....AJ, if not toby? if thats right i doubt many teams can say that about their two catchers
  11. i think id rather have dye over fukudome
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 12:27 AM) Ten more wins for the AL as things stand now. nine if LAA hangs on

  15. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 10:11 PM) AL leads 47-36 47-40 after the AL went 0-4 last night....more than made up for it tonight....they may win 12 of 14 tonight....

  17. ill be there...my first of the year...looks like it will be a really nice night for a game
  18. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 08:57 AM) They fired Rick Peterson also the esteemed pitching coach.Players such as Delgado have massively underachieved. Minaya deserves at least some of the blame for signing aging injury prone players such as Alou. no doubt about it...minaya is simple not a good GM....he came to a team with two budding superstars and a ton of money to spend.... he oversigned beltran, traded for an expensive and over the hill delgado, way oversigned pedro, and frankly IMO way oversigned on santana
  19. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 11:20 AM) AL was 9-5 on friday night, and 8-5 last night....on the season that puts the AL 39-29... AL leads 47-36
  20. AL was 9-5 on friday night, and 8-5 last night....on the season that puts the AL 39-29...
  21. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 13, 2008 -> 11:21 PM) the national league is getting bent over like a dirty, dirty, dirty whore tonight 7-2 AL so far tonight, with LAA, CLE and OAK all winning , granted two of the better NL teams didnt play interleagu (phillies and cards, even though i still maintain that cards team isnt that good, especially sans pujols) but still its ugly....thank god, hopefully now i wont have to hear BS from cubs fans like how pittsburgh is a better team than the tigers looks like i jinxed LAA and CLE as they both gave up the lead....oh well, id rather have CLe lose anyways

  23. QUOTE (WCSox @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) I'm not really complaining, but just disagree with Ozzie's decision. Dotel has been good over the past month or so, but not exactly "fantastic." And Linebrink has been much better. Considering that the Sox were on the verge of getting swept and that Detroit's bullpen isn't all that, I would've gone with Linebrink, Jenks, and then Dotel if it got to the 11th inning. JMO. ok well if you throw out dotels first outing of the year.... he came into the game with 1.86 ERA in 29 IP, 20 H, 13 BB, and 41Ks, good for the best K:IP ratio in the majors...he has been fantastic...dont forget linebrink gave up a walk off HR a week and a half ago too
  24. ozzie blew game 1....game 2 we just lost, thats gonna happen...and game 3 coulda gone either way....its a frustrating series, but for going on the road against a good team (i dont give a s*** what their record is, they are still a solid team) we coulda walked away with 2/3...frustrating to not come away with at least 1, but we didnt play as poorly as a sweep may suggest
