This is not about Jews, 'sider. This is about one Robert Fisher. Apparently, he is insane.
  2. I knew Clayton couldn't carry Jose's unwashed jock. Him grounding into twice as many DPs as Jose is another proof. Take that CW!

Ted Turner biased and historically-selective? Such Yankee blasphemy!
  4. Hey, as long as they win, they may prostitute Ozzie for all his worth. Afterall, he's already their puppet/mouthpiece, anyway. If he is fine with this, I don't care. Give me exciting baseball, 1st place and very good attendance....and the rest matter very little.

Ah, the Khomeini-Satanic Verses mishap... Bobby Fisher could certainly play chess, though. Such a waste of talent on this hateful weirdo.

"America deserved 9/11? Death to America? Death to Jews"? WTF? Both his parents are Jews and he was rabidly anti-communist during Cold War..... The mofo retired before Garry Kasparov could kick his hateful wunderkind ass. Thoughts on this dude?
  7. Yes, do you remember which jamaican/raggae tune was playing as the credits rolled? Bob Marley? I completely forget.....Man, the cops throw that party instead of bringing that weed to the station, so seamless.... Re: museum:
  8. From the Bulls games I've seen he is OUT of breath by the end of 1Q, has to be rested. Then gets another rest during half time. Finally, completely slows down at the beginning of the 4th Q to the point where he doesn't even bother beating people off the dribble, splitting double teams, cut to the basket, etc and instead just passes the ball around along the arc line, with next to no foot work. Contrast it to the 1st Q and it's startling. I don't know what he did in Kansas, but when they say he's hit the wall, they ain't kidding. Of course when you compare him to Chandler and Curry, he may may indeed have good ensurance, but compared to star points and shooting guards around the league, the dude barely cuts it as far as conditioning IMO. It's expected. He's only what 22? He'll have a chance to get better. Now he's basically a 1st/3rdQ player. If he stays healthy, he'll be an All-Star, mark my words. Maybe not in Jason Kidd's league, but still pretty damn good. IMO.
  9. Nah, sadly I was more Bart than Lisa. It's uncanny really. Complete with mild undiagnosed ADD. I think you're right. That first flashback episode (there's been a lot of knock-offs since) with HS Homer tryin' to get into Marge's pants, the French lessons, the unwanted 3rd pregnancy....I know exactly what you mean. That's what separates Simpsons from the pack, I think. At their best, they manage to be hysterically funny, creative AND somehow emotionally resonant, poignant....without the usual cloying, sacharine overkill you get from "very special" sitcom moments on Friends, etc. It's funny with the Beatles Anni up on us, I remembered the ending to the Lisa vegetarian ep, with her making up with and riding on Homer's shoulders to Paul Mac's "Maybe I'm amazed the way you love me all...." as the pig is flying through the sky.... Hell, they even had that hilarious and flawlessly executed post-ending in the Lassie the Blind-leading dog Ep when right as the ep was supposed to end (it spoofed some 70s cop show, too), the smart dog sniffed some some weed on the "kind" blind man character and Chief Wiggum had this priceless questioning look on his face, and after hearing the old man's weakass excuses, looked at Lou-- flash forward to the rolling credits and that well known mellow jamaican party music starts playing as the credits keep on rolling as it gets darker and darker outside, with police cars pulling up to the house, with women laughing......Just so low-key, timed so well and so f***in priceless. Do you know which ones I am talking about? I am not big on ep titles so maybe I am remembering it wrong...
  10. I see that rerun ep maybe once a year or so and the end brings a manly tear to my eyes-- I start thinking about childhood, about my father and the whole sentimental nine yards..... :headshake I don't know what it is really, my friends gave me s*** over it, too. It's a frickin' cartoon! Check that, it's the Simpsons.
  11. Don't forget about depth and breadth-- it goes (or rather used to) beyond cheap sit-com punchline humor. I caught one old ep on TV-- Homer recounting how he got Lisa her saxomophone-- and that corny Baker Street montage gets.me.every.single.time. It's ridiculous. OT: While I always root for Cubs to lose...... I cannot STAND people who make fun of Ron Santo's amputations and other health problems. You people are absolute f***in' SCUM. If I were running this site, you'd be BANNED long time ago. :fyou POS.
  12. Heinrich will be a 17pt, 10as, 2stl, 4reb, good defense player....... once he learns the league, starts "getting" the art of coming off screens and knocking that mid-range jumper, gets on some serious endurance bulding-program during the opff-season AND gets some players around him who can actually make an uncontested lay-up once in a while.
  13. Since he got "all right" in June (his bat look a little slow in April in particular), he was a 1000 OPS player for the remaining of the year. But his symbolic value to this franchise must also be considered. 3-4 more good Frank seasons and he will be a first ballot HOF'er. Sox must win 2004 and nothing short of Perez having a excellent seasons is going to get it done. Can we count on it? I am high on him, but even I am sceptical. Why would people want him and his 6 Mill out of town this badly? Perez is not going to get it done, and he is simply not worth Miller AND Jackson, especially not in a pitcher's park in the NL where he'd have to play 1B, so Dodgers would laugh at this offer. It looks like this trade is not in the interests of either team. Forget it.
  14. Judy is more than 2 years younger than Perez, has pitched in a hitter's park, in the offense-heavier AL....AND he makes less than HALF of what OP does. It looks like I am going to have more free time this summer. Which can't be bad.

Then how can you criticise it? I've read parts of the script re-writes, but until I see this abomination, I reserve my judgement. Not wanting to line his pockets is one thing-- and I would agree with not going to see it for second, third, fourth times.....but not seeing it AT ALL? I dunno, maybe I am not getting something.
  16. Certain people over at BSI think this organization is stooping to new lows with this. Meh....all this won't matter if Sox are in 1st place by 7-10 games around June-July. Go Sox!!!
  17. That would partially explain why I am creeped out s***less by any and all twins, especially of the Siamese kind. All that telepathic and teleological prowess concentrated in two human beings? Pretty unsettling and, if I may say so, evil.
  18. She's got a romp to die for. CW, is she approachable?
  19. Roberto, I thought you was a Republican. Why do you care?
  20. I do not think he is washed up, not by a long shot. Still will take him over Ponson and probably over Colon too given his huge contract. But at the same time, 20 Mill over 2 years for a a 38-year-old? No way.
  21. Like I said...save your breath. This guy's idols are Sen. McArthy and Rush Limba, for crying out loud!
