Danny lost velocity AND movement off his heater, AND his curve was absolute garbage.....compared to where it was in August-September of 2002 when looked really good.

Pardon, where are my manners... I should have mentioned the 120+ wounded. So there.

Foregone conclusion.

Slightly OT: think about this: 1. Giants are playing in a bigger market. 2. Giants draw 3.3 Mill fans without employing half-price/freebie tactics, and the average ticket price there is higher. 3. It takes more money to win NLW than to win ALC. 4. And yet Sox fans are in their usual "White flags are falling!" pre-season hysteria even though OUR the payroll is only 10 Mill less. Hmm.....

....Part Deux: http://www.nytimes.com/2004/02/11/internat...04&partner=UNTD 100 in 2 days? Not too shabby.

No silly, it's all about obstruction of justice, grand perjery and Presidential Office-humiliation....while the entire world looked on in disgust. Plus, Bubba is clearly responsible for the nation-wide junior-high blow-job epidemic. Moral fabric will never be the same again, you hear!

Success in movie business is a funny concept. You would think that if a flick cost 50 mill to make and 20 to promote and ends up pulling in just a little over 100 Mill in BO, that's a nice 30 Mill gain, isn't? Wrong. To be truly profitable, it has to gross 200 Mill or more-- there's an actual 3:1 ratio applied. One of the reasons why My Big Fat Greek Wedding was much more profitable than Minority Report. Etc. Of course the DVD/rental circuit helps alot....but you'd be surprised (or not) how much the target revenue has to be. I guess the whole industry is in its bloat period or the Disney management is just incompetent or something.

Chernobyl housing is up to 5 times cheaper than neighboring areas still. Quite a few people who actually choose to live there do so because they feel they don't have have their wires crossed. They think they're smarter than everyone else. The joke's on them and their progeny. I do agree with you as far as those hilarious "bottle people".....Then again, if you got the money, I would imagine your and your family's HEALTH would be the FIRST thing to spend it on.....right? Tex said it best.

Yes, it was.

Being creeped out by vaguely satan-looking, wasted slobs in the waiting line...and then having to slide across the vomit-, urine-, s***-covered washroom floor, terrified of losing your balance as a grinning Ronnie Woowoo impersonator in front of you doesn't even bother to zip up on his way back from a stall.....is a rite of passage for every North Side boy under the age of 10. Incidentally, it's also what William Blake once referred to as "endless night"... :puke

That's because D Wright circa June 2003 was a completly different pitcher from DW circa September 2002..... the one whom we all liked and expected big things from. Don Cooper must prove to me once and for all why he shouldn't be chased out of the clubhouse with a electric broom.

Heads, you aren't old school. You're young and stupid. There are so many risks in life that can't be avoided. Why on earth wuld you add a few frivilous ones? A human body is an amazingly resilient lil' thing; it can take all kids of chemical and bacterial abuse....up to a point. Steff is right: just because a human eye doesn't see it, doesn't mean it's alright. 800 foreign subst. figure didn't suprise me one bit. Where I am originally from, it's almost twice that. FlaSoxxJim, it's time for you to put an end to this debate.

I loved Chris Farley's follow-up. But you know what I love more? John Lennon's take on that vomitous line from the Love Story.

Ooops. My condolesces to everyone who picked him. Myself included. I hope either Kerry or Edwards picks him as a VP. They better.

Man, that was totally uncalled for. Everyone knows SoxTalk is for the Beatles. As ODB is for da children.
-
Your guess will be wrong. Totally unsubstanciated. Average ticket price is over 20 dollars per. I feel like I am fogetting something. Ah, yes.........THE MONEY IS FOR RENOVATIONS ONLY

Unlike 2003, we have a somewhat tougher 2004 April that will likely show us and JR whether this team is what I think it will be or what it should be based on 2001-2003 pefromance.

I also think less of Nathan, Silva and Crane than you do, we all know how "well" most rookies perform when given a closer's job....and much more of Hawkins, Santana and Guaradado that have been staples of the Twinkie BP for the most part of 2003, taking pressure off of Romero and Co. Guess what? Now we will find out how Nathan, Silva, Balfour, Crane, Romero fend for themselevs. You have but written Sweeney and Gonzo off. Good for you. You apparently think that a 26yo Beltran and a 25yo Berroa will not be as good as last year, especially now with Stairs, Sweeney, Santiago, Guiel and Gonzo (and a LHP-killing Graffanino platooning with RHP-hitting Relaford....as well as a healthy Randa) backing them up and forcing opposing pitchers to challenge them with fastballs, thus making them more dangerous by default.......I disagree. To an extent, anyway. You want to play the "IF" game? --I will bring up Rowand's only average defense, low OBP and inability to hit RHP. --I will bring up Uribe's OBP and point Coors-ward. --I will bring up everything Harris. --I will bring up Olivo's total lack of stick. --I will bring up Konerko's flaws nobody but me talks about and his freakish 2003 meltdown that may always haunt him, the balding perfectionist that he is. --I will bring up Valentin's age and a beyond-idiotic insistence on hitting RH. --I will bring up Magglio's very human (for a supposed MVP player) career 890 OPS . --I will bring up Garland's career ERA and lack of good secondary pitches. --I will bring up Loaiza's career ERA as well as Burhle's disturbing 2-year downward trend that every expert under the sun mentioned already. --I will bring up the fact that we have NO #4 or #5 pitchers, unless you think Shoenweiss and Rauch have more chance at succeeding than younger Affeldt, Ascenio and Gobble do. --I will be merciless toward Danny Wright and will pick apart Billy Koch's lack of control and unbelivale loss of velocity, which you DON'T just buy back at the flea market. Big health question marks both of em. --And Shingo's age and slipping numbers even against INFERIOR Japanese hitters.... --I will bring up Politte's last year --Of course how could I not mention the fact that Kelly Wunsht, ostensibly our second best reliever, has thrown HOW MANY innings and allowed how many inherited runners to score in the last 3 years? --Did Joe Crede or did he not have a sub-740 OPS in his first full season? --Then there is Frank Thomas who will be 36 AND who weighs almost 300 pounds....Talk about high health risks....he is the poster boy. And don't you dare point to Bonds and Edgar.... --Finally, we have a rookie MANAGER who may be a total disaster-- unlike Tony Pena-- he's already shown all the discretion and judgement of an intoxicated seagull slamming into a papier-mache light tower. Unless Appier pulls a Loaiza, there is very little chance Royals will have as good (or rather as overrated) a starting rotation as us, BUT will better on the pads, will have a pretty close bullpen AND might just out-hit us BADLY if they stay healthy....and I've never been one to stoop as low as to actually COUNT on serious injuries befalling other teams' key players in order to pad my point. But we both agree that ultimately this s***ty division is UP FOR GRABS and that's something. I optimistically see Sox winning 92 games and a 1st plce. BUT, I can certainly make a case for both Twins and Royals embarassing us 2002-2003 style. We shall see. I hope you're right about de Royales.

It is NOT natural. . 4 month/80 pounds loss is NOT safe. Even for a teenager.
-
If only it were that simple, Pablo. If only it were that simple.... Also....do you know how f***ing DANGEROUS it is to lose 20 pounds a month over a few month period? I am sorry folks, there is NO SHORT-CUT. Exercise and proper nutrition, combined with some genetic luck will net you awesome results. Resolve the emotional problems that lead to over-eating. Resolve personal/finacial problems that lead to avoiding the gym/personal trainer/nutrionist like a plague. Get over the body ideals that are shoved down your throat. And watch your weight go down slowly but surely but gracefully. Over 6month-year period, you'll lose 30-40 pounds and will be very HEALTHY while doing it, with little chance of relapsing. Or you can line Adkins people' and Dr. Phil's pockets.

I don't drink water during winter, unless after sports./exercise, in which case Getorade is fine as is fountain water. Tea, juice, soup, decaf, milk, pop, fruits, wine, etc, etc provide all the fluids I need. Summer time? Multi-liter galons of water are sold at Dominics for a VERY low price. Evian, etc are trendy status/snob drinks. It's funny how everyone is walking around with them. We snark on those people behind their backs.
