Whoa, slow down. First of all, has he recovered from the off-seaosn surgery? Secondly....Valuing Anderson over Cotts/Honel? Um, no. What did it take to get Pedro back in 1998? And Schmidt ain't Pedro in prime. -
Billy Caesar can go the way his Roman counter-part went for all I care. "Et tu Depodestus!"

All this proves is that German car drivers lie more than their Asian and American brethren. And that they attract more gold-diggers.

Except when you drive in 150 with mediocre line-up, I don't care how many time you K. If Bonds was K-ing 200 times a year with other stats staying the same, do you think his value would suffer? Shammy is a roider, but that ugly issue aside.....his production since 1998 has been nohting short of spectacular. Deal with it. -

I suppose.......Renteria's range blows for a GG'er. Jason Schmidt, is his arm ok? Cause if it is, and the Giants are out of it, which they will be....what would it take to get him around the break? -
Outside of a couple of good baserunning years, he consistently ran his team out of innings, and was always good for about 20 errors, which in those days wasn't all that pretty for a 2B.

I don't know about it "all".....but after 3 years of mind-boggling bad luck, corpseball underachivement and general organizational stupidity....I reckon both I and this franchise could use a little, um, "winning".....And just barely being able to handle TB and Cle AT HOME is not my idea of winning. Give me a 92-70 record. And an ALCS apperance. And a 75 Mill payroll in 2005 and I'll be content. It's about f***ing TIME Sox became the Indians of the 2000's. YMMV.

And luck and all that good stuff.

Don't forget about "Mike Piazza's gay" (disclaimer: he probably isn't, but it's fun to speculate....and to rhyme )

I guess you're right. Still, I'd rather have Jose Cruz, Jr at 1-2 Mill than Maggs at 15. And Charles Johnson thing was funny as hell. Talk about stealing....Althought, compared to Kevin Appier making 13 Mill 2 years ago.... -
Nah man....the calf implant dude. Hi-f***in'-larious. The dude is BUTT-UGLY, STUPID and totally PERSONALITY-FREE...and yet he thinks he is a calf implant away from, what was the term he used -- "total package"? I loved the freaked-out look the waitress gave him when he told her his grandiose plans and later he is like, "She don't know" Brad Pitt Twins were not to shaby, either.

We've been over this..... No way I pay that money to Beltran. I wish people would stop licking his nutsac already. He can't draw. He can't win. He is an ACL tear away from not stealing bases anymore. He is represented by Boras, no? As soon as he gets HUGE payola, he will be advised to stop taking the beating on the basepaths so he can prolong his power-hitting career. You'll have a 370 OBP, 530 Slug hitter with good D and 15 SB making 15 Mill per over 6 years. Come on. Sox can't and SHOULDN'T pay that. Pay Pujols 14-15 Mill or Bonds -- 18. If you're overpaying, make sure you're getting a f***ing STUD in return. And this April aside, Beltran hasn't been it. -
When do you think the fans start coming back??

Hey as long as you're getting a psych evaluation from a plastic surgeon whose livelyhood depends precisely on your departure from reality and/or degree of self-loathing.....might as well consult them all. I remember MTV plastic surgery special and some poor girl went in for a nose job and the doc told her she "needed" a lipo and some other s***....Didn't know whether to laugh or throw up,

Yeah I heard that. What was the mothef***er thinking! Lakeside, state-of-the-art BP would have been such a beautiful move.

yes, but you have to admit those billboards are UG-LEEEE. Besides a minimalist (nothing fancy) HR porch in RF, they NEED to build something admistrative building/fountain-y in LCF as well. Would make for an AWESOME park.

I don't understand why Jeter got all the attention while Jose Cruz Jr's streak was something like 36 at bats... I know....ridiculous, isn't it? He's making 14 Mill this year, so he should stfu quite frankly. When I went to KC and NY games, I didn't go for Magglio Ordonez, but for Chicago White Sox. Watching 10K at games only reinforces the idea that Maggs can't draw s***. If I am JR, I ain't paying Magglio Albert Pujols money until he puts up Albert Pujols numbers not to mention draws and sells mechandise like AP. -
Like I said, it's not 7-5 per se.....it's the MANNER in which it was achieved. Sox played Yankees in a sorry form and should have taken 2 out of 3....but failing that Sox should have definately taken 4 out of 5 against TB/Cle -- and instead they came [] close to LOSING 4 out of 5 -- Danny Baez, Broussard and some scrub reliver gave us a couple of gifts. Winning ugly my ass. I don't care that KC was winning like this in 03 and Minny in 04....We're supposed to be BETTER than them, remember? I have Sox winning 92 games this year, so taking 3 out of 4 at home against Toronto is par de course. Especially when the 3 wins are by a total of 3 runs and we make Cata-friggin-lo-friggin-nato look like Ted Williams.

Mark Delarossa wishes he stayed in bed today, eh matey? Of course Giles has 7 or 8 errors already (catching up Durham and Mora fast), but at least he is hitting 360.

Pretty face. Seriously.

It was Cotts. Anyway you slice it, Wright will never be a control pitcher; his hand-eye coordination/motion precision is simply not top-notch. Him and Kock (and some 70% of all relievers) are in the same boat in that sense. What he needs is 95+ mph tailer to strike some fear into the batters and to complement a low-90s sinker, a solid change and a tough curve. And with the arm speed he is generating now, he ain't gonna throw 93-94, let alone 95-97. Either he gets "healthy" in a hurry, or he's in trouble.
-
Well...duh. Rickey Henderson in his prime having a 400 OBP is more "valuable" than Edgar Martinez having a 450 OBP. But when we're talking about Patterson's 300 OBP versus Frank's 495? Not so much -- Frank is not THAT slow.

Sun GoG: Uribe Garland snagged a liner and Caballo made a good throw to plate for once (he later misplayed a foul ball)....but Uribe had a tough FO, completed a crucial bases loaded DP with Wells busting to 1st and prevented the runner from going to 3rd on a hit-n-run with no outs. That's potentially two runs averted.
