i had mixed feelings about the 300 level. i prefer the atmosphere of being in the 100 level but its nice how the concourse is indoors. we went once when it was really cold in april and it was nice being able to warm up inside. also, all the indoor tvs they have, they dont just put the sox game, i remember they had the bulls game on. i also rather get whatever i want to eat than to have a waiter or get something in the bar. prefer going to the hotdog/slushy-margarita stand myself in the 100 level

QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 11:21 AM) The Bulls are decimating the bench mob to stay under the luxury tax while matching Asik, bottom line why do the bulls want to match asik? is it to trade him so they wont lose him for nothing ?

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 08:24 PM) Matt Harrison looks good. great job by washington starting verlander when sale or weaver deserved it more and for choosing harrison over sale. oh and no one wants to see harrison pitch anyways -

QUOTE (almagest @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 03:34 PM) I know it's been said before, but you guys know greg is probably just trolling the s*** out of all of you, right? Especially considering every time the Ozzie talk dies down, here he comes with another article or statement praising Ozzie for something. And even if he's not, who cares? He has his opinion, he loves Ozzie, he's not rational or objective in any way... whatever. It's not worth it to argue with him because you're never going to change his opinion, whether he's trolling or not. exactly. this is basically the greg loves ozzie thread and everyone argue against it lol

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 12:45 PM) Jeez, Richardson is actually an ok fit for that team. Wow, the f***ing Nets are going to be damn good. PG Deron Williams SG Joe Johnson SF Jason Richardson PF Gerald Wallace C Dwight Howard as annoying as howard has been(and it sucks he didnt want to come here), i still would rather have them, or anyone else, beat the heat. i hate lebron/wade and the heat more than any team

QUOTE (High Mileage @ Jul 7, 2012 -> 03:42 PM) I've been a Royals fan all my life. I'm 26 years old, I was born in 1985 when the Royals won the World Series. It's been a rough ride, but no matter how s***ty they are or have been, they are still my team. This year we were pretty much told we should be competitive in a weak AL Central, but probably wouldn't be able to keep up with the Tigers. We were told the rotation was legit with Hochevar, Bruce Chen, Danny Duffy, and Jonathan Sanchez with Everett Teaford, Nate Adcock, Felipe Paulino, Vin Mazzaro, and Luis Mendoza competing for the 5th spot. The front office didn't do anything like go after Oswalt, Lose, Edwin Jackson, Paul Maholm, Gio Gonzalez, or any other halfway decent starter. Jonathan Broxton was brought in to be a set-up man. Jose Mijares was brought in as a quality lefty reliever. We were told that should be plenty. We needed a utility fielder, so they brought back Yuniesky Betancourt. I don't understand that one. We dumped Mike Aviles to the Red Sox for Yamaico Navarro, the flipped Navaro after 6 games to the Pirates for two mid level, marginal prospects. Lorenzo Cain was suppose to step in and be a big defensive upgrade over Melky Cabrera, while still bringing a decent bat. Then he got hurt. Salvador Perez shoe flashes of greatness last year behind the plate and with the bat, but he got hurt before the season and just returned last week. Joakim Soria got hurt and got TJ surgery for the second time. Then Lorenzo Cain got hurt, he's on his rehab assignment still. Meanwhile Melky is an All-Star starter for the Giants and a serious MVP Candidate. He's shown that his huge year last season with the Royals was no fluke. Jarrod Dyson has been our primary centerfielder. Reliever Blake Wood got hurt, TJ surgery for him. The FO went out and traded two different mid level, marginal prospects to the Astros for catcher Humberto Quintero and former White Sox great, outfielder Jason Bourgeois(sp?). Brayan Pena and Quintero have been pretty s***ty with the bat, Perez, has been hitting since he's been back. Quintero has been released. Danny Duffy went down, TJ for him too. Felipe Paulino. Injured. TJ surgery as well. Eric Hosmer still isn't hitting much. Mike Moustakas has been a huge surprise offensively and defensively. He has expressed his desire to sign long-term. Billy Butler is a well deserving All-Star. He's finally show ability to hit homers on a regular basis. Alcides Escobar has been spectacular defensively and offensively. They said when we got him that he wouldn't hit much. He's arguably the best hitting shortstop in the AL and was All-Star worthy. Alex Gordon started off really slow but has cone around and he's been pretty good offensively and he's made some huge plays in left this year, do.t be surprised if he wins his 2nd consecutive Gold Glove. Jeff Francoeur has regressed. He's pretty much blocking top prospect Wil Myers. Our GM Dayton Moore has had a hard on for Jeff Francoeur since he scouted him in high school while Moore was with the Braves. They are close friends. Moore won't be pulling the plug on Frenchy anytime soon no matter how bad it gets. Frenchy is under contract for another season after this one for $6.75M. Chris Getz has been good when he's been on the field, but he's been on the DL three times already. He's on rehab in Omaha, and hitting well. Johnny Giavotella can't hit or field, his window may be closed. Betancourt has seen a lot of playing time at 2nd, he's awful. They need to go out and get somebody. The bullpen has been rock solid all season. They been the best in the league, and have pitched more than any bullpen in the league due to our starters being so s***ty. TIM Collins had All-Star numbers. Broxton has been shaky each outing but also was a worthy All-Star. Aaron acrow and Greg Holland have been solid as well. Mijares too. Ned Upstate has done some really, really stupid things this season. Like sitting our best hitter (Billy Butler) for three consecutive games against an NL opponent at their park, so we could have better defense at 1st (Hosmer). Francoeur has been our primary clean up hitter. I don't think this team can be taken seriously until something is done with the rotation. Jonathan Sanchez needs to go, dude is worthless. I am going t be upset this off-season when the Royals don't even attempt to sign Greinke or Kansas City native Shawn Marcum. Top prospect Jake Odorizzi was the key piece in the Greinke to Milwaukee trade, and he appears to be ready. He along with Wil Myers will be playing in the Futures Game. This years' 5th overall pick, starting pitcher Kyle Zimmer is suppose to be quick to the big leagues. This team also seems incapable of winning more than four in a row. I've got to say they are out of it as of now despite having 15 games left with the White Sox. If they make a run and make a real move or two that could change, but I'm not holding my breath. Bottomline is that money needs to be spent in the free agency to fill in the gaps. Our farm system has produced well and there are more guts coming, but it hasn't produced much starting pitching. The FO has been relying too heavily on the farm and scrap heap finds. Our $61M payroll says it all. It's 4th lowest in baseball. Attendance is up over 5,000 fans per game. They got the All-Star Game this year, money needs to be spent. the royals dont have the best bullpen(orioles) and alcides escobar is not the best hitting ss in the a.l. not even close, there are atleast 7 better hitting short stops , with asdrubal leading the way

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 12:56 PM) I don't know what happened between him and floyd. I was referring to the comments from the giants pitcher before the Sox signed him. yea i know. i remember about that, also how one year in spring training , the sox faced brett tomko and aj offered $100 to whoever hit a hr off him....i was just wondering about the ny thing with floyd since the thread topic about him being a cancer made me remember this

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 11:46 AM) The work ethic stuff is all wrong. He works as hard or harder than anyone on the field. That stuff was said because the guy didn't like him. AJ is a grade A jerk but is a good ball player and works hard at the game. i never read anything on it, or saw when it happend,(saw a video online i think) but what happend between aj and floyd in ny?

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 10:57 AM) This Sunday is another White Sox "Kids Day." I've taken the family to a couple of these, and my kids really enjoy running the bases after the game. We've never gotten to the park early enough to take advantage of the "kids only autograph session" and I'm wondering if its worth it. Does anyone know how they work it or if the A-Listers particpate? I'd hate to force my kids to fight through a horde of fellow kiddies just for Eduardo Escobar and Brian Omogrosso. Thanks yea the better players do participate. my nephews went earlier this year. they got rios ,danks, morel, deaza, to name a few. i remember when i went before, i got ozzie and magglio. so yea, its worth it.

QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 03:00 PM) Im sure they are. He doesnt deserve those votes though. Leads the AL in walks. he shouldnt have been on the final vote ballot. the rangers already have 7,8 guys going. they should have put someone more deserving, maybe willingham or kipnis...there were better options. but hey, washington knew to put darvish becuase of the japanese vote -

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 09:02 AM) Remember how many White Sox went to the 2006 All Star game because Ozzie was the manager. I'm all about rest for the guys, but it would be nice to see the actual best players make it to the game. With the fan vote, you have some great players that just won't make it if they play for the Sox, Pirates, Royals, etc. If the All Star game means something (which I'm not a fan of), the best players should be playing, not the most popular. yup so we cant really criticize washington. not that his numbers are bad, but darvish is not an all star this year. theres a few that shouldnt be there like altuve, lahair ,weiters, kinlser(should of been kipnis) and kershaw(cueto, greinke)etc. but its never going to be perfect -
QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 12:00 AM) I don't think Konerko won the final vote last year. I think he finished second and got in on an injury somewhere. Also will never forget when Scott Podsednik beat Jeter in this thing in 2005. So awesome. Now every team does the huge campaigns though so its effect is minimal. not that it matters, but pk did get in on the final vote last year. it was him and victorino.
-
maybe i missed it somewhere else, but its hilarious that lahair made the all star team. hes not even a first baseman anymore, hes a platoon player now (doesnt bat vs. lefties since hes batting .079 against them) and has been very average at best since may. may: 5hr, 8rbi , .253 june:3hr, 6rbi, .231 so he became an all star because of what he did in april(.390,5,14) theo needs to trade him this month since his value will never be higher.
-
QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 12:50 PM) I'm won't be surprised if Peavy replaces CC Sabathia on the roster since he is injured, I dunno how Felix Hernandez got in ahead of Peavy wasnt felix the only mariner to go? they needed someone to go. yea and i dont think anyone will beat yu with all of japan voting for him lol

AJ Pierzynski is not an All-Star

the players voted in weiters, theres no way that the players who voted aj the most hated were going to vote him in. everyone hates him and thats his own fault
