  2. QUOTE (Cubano @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 08:41 PM) I feel lucky to be in the USA. I'm glad you're here!
  3. Contreras should be starting Saturday now that Peavy can't go. Otherwise the Sox have to cut/DL somebody to make room for the spot starter. Since they haven't used Jose out of the bullpen, they might as well start him Saturday.
  4. I'm in. I'm frustrated, but I'm still in.
  5. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 07:25 PM) granted Thanks. Now make them hold on and make the Tigers lose.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 07:18 PM) Need one more hit here to blow this game open! Need three more hits here to score three more runs.
  7. Bases loaded, no outs. GOTTA score here!
  8. Whatever they did to Dank's finger, it's working!
  9. We need a nice long offensive inning here.
  10. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 07:00 PM) Wow. Great job. I hope he's ok, but DJ is going to have to come in. Then who's going to do the color with Farmer?
  11. Way to battle, Danks! Now let Hermie and Coop have a look at that finger!!!
  12. Danks battling, but I don't see him going much longer tonight.
  13. Another fine display of defense by the White sox.
  14. These 3-1 counts are going to jump up and bite Danks tonight.
  15. Danks has no control tonight.
  16. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 05:39 PM) There's going out on a limb, right there. I like living on the edge.
  17. QUOTE (daa84 @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 04:22 PM) i said it when it happened, and i'll say it again now, i wish we never let charlie haeger go I was always pulling for Charlie Haeger when he was with the Sox. I guess I'm partial to knuckleballers since the Sox had Hoyt Wilhelm and Wilbur Wood.
  18. It's sad that so many people are still enslaved by oppressive communist governments. I hope the day comes soon when talented Cuban baseball players don't have to risk their own or their family's safety just for the opportunity to compete in the Major Leagues.
  19. I think the White Sox are going to win the World Series this year. Unless they don't step it up for the rest of the season, then not.
  20. CHICAGO -- Forget about breaking down game film or looking for flaws in pitching mechanics during side sessions as a way for Jose Contreras to correct a recent disastrous six-start run on the mound for the White Sox. All Contreras needed was to speak with an old friend and make a recommended wardrobe adjustment in order to shut down the Royals over seven innings during Wednesday's 4-2 victory at U.S. Cellular Field. Contreras received a phone call from Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez, his countryman and teammate on the 2005 World Series champions, receiving words of wisdom concerning, of all things, Contreras' uniform pants. "El Duque called me and said, 'If you want to win, wear your pants up,'" said Contreras, through interpreter Ozzie Guillen Jr., after first laughing when he heard the question about the pants comparison to El Duque's style. "I'm not going to change that until something else happens."
