  1. Maybe they are doing all sidework just to build the arm? I would doubt they send him down. They seem to want thise limited innings in the MLB.
  2. Wasn't his comment related to right field exclusively? Maybe he think an SP is still a possibility?
  3. I've always been interested in Sousa. He seemed to take awhile but always adjusts to the new level.
  4. I wonder if they are saving his arm for the season because of his limitations or if there is an issue? If there is an issue already, they are in deep poo.
  5. I know. It was a joke. This board is not representative of typical Sox fans.
  6. Unless they read this board. He runs like hes in cement Hit like a toddler Less power than Madrigal Mental makeup was a strength
  7. You have wonder if this came from earlier kimbrel trade discussions that fell through but the Sox liked this guy as part of that deal and found another way to get him.
  8. With him leaving the organization for a time for personal reasons, he may have just needed to move on.
  9. Agreed. It's much more important this year with the byes. Last year they seem to wait to long to rest the pitching. This year with the decreased spring training this may be more important. However they can push a little more at the end and receive rest with getting a bye. It will be interesting to see the strategy of teams toward the end of the year.
  10. There shouldn't be total consistency here. The are in 2 different classifications. They have very different responsibilities and very different interests in the team.
  11. No it's something I said. However if you read the next paragraph you will see it was made with sarcastic hyperbole about too many people overvaluing the effect of the manager and undervaluing the effect of the players.
  12. Oops. Yep, obviously meant to type managers for the first part
  13. Much of it is the competitive nature of these human beings. To get to this level they are very competitive. It isn't always about the absolute money value it's about making more than another player they deem themselves to be better than. Take a look at tyreek hill. He almost had a deal with the chiefs until Adam's signed that deal with the raiders. Then his demands went up because he had to make more than Adam's to be the highest paid WR.
  14. Didn't he have UCL reconstruction in the middle of last season? That puts him about 9 months out. He is just getting into pitching again. He is just starting his buildup.
  15. Doesn't have anything to do with when people were born. I would also add Girardi to the old school.
  16. Agreed. In my opinion it should all be internal and never brought to the media. Unfortunately, it far to often makes it out there in the media today.
  17. I wouldn't disagree In fact I think I said this at the time, as long as it goes both ways.
  18. I wouldn't disagree with this as long as it applies to the players as well. Again it goes both ways.
  19. This is true. He did go overboard. Bit the premise still stands on the throwing the player under the bus. If you are a marginal player and ignore the manager, nothing good will come of it. The pint about anyone being alive when he started managing is irrelevant.
  20. That's is one thing we know from the literature, the more you stretch (passively anyway) the more likely you are to be injured. ?
  21. There is a distinct difference. But I can see why you would want to obfuscate it.
