  1. I continue to disagree thise are the priorities. However do you think either of those would be cheap when they near the cap? Not saying I agree with everything they've done. But you aren't asking for easy additions.
  2. That team was not as good as this one and they've spent near the cap which was what everyone always asked for. You will be the person that if they win a world series you will be unsatisfied, call it luck and refuse to go to a game unless they add 3 more all star players.
  3. Not with the prices and length of contracts they are going for.
  4. Really, with a team this good? You really can't be happy no matter what they do.
  5. Just depends on your perspective. If the the big market contracts are out of reach, you go elsewhere.
  6. Correct. But I meant after the lockout and after that. Once they equalized what the market was, they went elsewhere once they were allowed to sign again. So the last couple of weeks when everyone has been saying they are signing RP help and not an OF.
  7. True. There is the distinct possibility they knew the market for FA OF was starting at 5-7 years and 125 and they just decided they would use the resources elsewhere. I know many think they got caught with their pants down or misread the market. Maybe they knew the market and that's why they went elsewhere.
  8. But then the media gives them a gard time for not talking. When they are stuck there is no good choice, they need to determine which is the lesser of the evils.
  9. It's a calculated choice as to which is worse. I think all sports execs lean away from the whole truth and prefer to appease the fans a little.
  10. Because after the off season of postponing games it would really bad in the media. Everyone on this board would go nuts saying they shouldn't be crying poor.
  11. This was the biggest issue last year. I knew it was go8ng to happen when Katz said he was going to treat his pitchersike it was a normal year. Hopefully he learned something. This is also why a deep bullpen is going g to be very important regardless of people complaining on here about spending too much of the resources on the pen.
  12. You do realize Hahn has never said anything about Conforto nor has there been any real credible o formation about it. It's just this board and media saying g he would fit. Maybe they never wanted him for a variety of reasons.
  13. I thought everyone said during the CBA negotiations he was just a mouthpiece for the owners.
  14. Hopefully I'll be retired and gone by the time this is ready to go. I really don't want to pay another PSL, but probably will if I'm still here.
  15. That just means they aren't voiding it, not the insurance coverage. It was a scaphoid fracture? He went 3 months without treatment. There is a good chance that he will lose significant wrist ROM. That is tough to come back from if it's treated immediately. This will be an interesting one to watch.
  16. He does need help not that one of the stars is out for half the season with a non-baseball injury. I wonder how much of the contract was insured? They should be able to put some of that towards another player.
  17. He said are not were. Instead of the very round and normal timeframe of 14 years, how about the last 5?
  18. Probably. But there are worse places to suffer 187 million dollars. Could take 300 but have to live in Baltimore Ala Correa.
  19. Thus was his one big paycheck. Need to take care of the great-grandkids.
  20. Denver is an awesome place. No better place for the big contract especially if you're a hitter.
  21. Finally, something worth talking about.
  22. Unfortunately the OF market is now set. Yeeesh.
