Correct. Which means they are locked into Giolito, Keuchal, Cease and Kopech for next year. If they go top tier FA (which I still maintain is not a wise investment) that means neither Dunning nor Stiever got a shot. Let's see how Dunning looks when they bring him up before making off season decisions.
I assume then no one wants to give any of the young, inexpensive, cost controlled pitchers like Dunning or Stiever a chance.
Giolito, keuchal, cease, kopech. Or is Cease gone instead.
Do you think Vaughn (or any minor leaguer) will be ready for next year with really no developmental games this year? I would think they would all spend the majority of next year in the minors.
The real positive is that there are many quality hitters so they can be moved around a little to account for inevitable slumps. The are very few overall "easy outs" except for slumps.
It's not like this is unique to this year. Like i said i get it . I'm just not as emotional and the wild swings of emotions during the games is entertaining.
And before this it was Ventura and before that it was Ozzie. The manger in baseball means very little. Especially in today's game runs by the statisticians. I'm not a fan of Renteria per se but when players are slumping there isn't much too do.
Maybe recently, but overall there's always freaking out whenever a loss happens. The shortest game threads are wins. People go nuts over every loss. I'm not picking on any one person just entertained by the whole concept. I truly think most posters here can't just sit and enjoy a game. But I guess that's just passionate fans.
It probably came from RH. They want to find out if Mazara can be an everyday RF or if they need to find a new one next year. The only way to find out is to play him everyday even against LHP.
Yes to all. Until the next game. Baseball is a game of failure and dealing with it is the hardest part of the game. It's a good thing the posters here arent MLB players. Or maybe that's why. ?
