  1. No doubt. This is odd but great.
  2. By being further a part and having an easier time of it spreading from place to place. In many of the other countries the population is so dense everywhere. The US is spread out pretty well. It will make it easier to keep from spreading.
  3. This is the goal and everyone is educated guessing on how to do it. I don't think there would be a significant enough difference between the 2.
  4. Different scenarios. This country is far more spread out and can handle it more efficiently. Plus, so far Italy is the only one that has had the issue.
  5. I think it would be better in the second scenario. totally shutting everything down will not totally stop it either so its better to keep things going with limiting large groups and taking precautions.
  6. Exactly. There's no way to stop the spreading but taking measures to slow it down and keep it from the most vulnerable population is the goal. It will run its course and in the future will be handled similar to influenza. There will be vaccines, some will get it, some won't . I don't think it will be a "required" one such as meningitis, TDAP and such.
  7. Uh oh. Back and hip issues together are usually trouble. Hopefully, they get it under control quickly.
  8. I would guess they would probably ban fans if it got to the point of not allowing teams out of AZ.
  9. Because large groups of people from the teams won't be moving from place to place and spreading it across the nation. If they stay in AZ, so does anything they are carrying.
  10. He could have just tested positive for Flu A or B which COVID would not test positive.
  11. Agreed. Read all of the data and see what the medical professionals say. They will have varied opinions as well but it should be a narrower view than other sources.
  12. I don't believe so. The reports I continue to see and read say around 80% are mild symptoms. Unless you have other sources of saying there is a greater % that are moderate to severe.
  13. Statistics show only 1500 or so need to go to the hospital.
  14. I don't blame you. As it spreads avoiding large groups especially one where there is a positive result is probably the best way to keep it from spreading as much as possible. My wife's office I ny closed when they found two cases in the building.
  15. Agreed. There's nothing wrong with a solid regular in the MLB. If they get that from the majority of players in the rebuild, the Sox will have a long window for winning because they can add what few pieces they need from externally.
  16. It is a fact that people will get sick. It is absolutely impossible to prevent everyone from getting sick. It is also an absolute fact that people will die. It cannot be prevented. That is not cold-hearted nor callous. It is a medical fact that it will happen no matter what anyone does. These are not my opinion. Ignoring the facts is the worst way to deal with these types of issues. How we can prevent as many of them from happening is the primary concern and paramount in any discussion. If I said I didn't care about or that we shouldn't do anything to prevent it that would be different.
  17. All of these are based on the general population. It still makes sense that if you take out the most susceptible the numbers will be far lower than any of those numbers you cited. The stats are still showing that 75%-85% of all of the cases are going to be mild. Decreasing the large group events also makes sense. i've never said it's no big deal. You continue to say it but I never have. Saying I'm callous and cold blooded is also an insult and I don't appreciate it. I've only presented ways that the medical community is looking at ways to decrease the spread and not have everything shut down which is not realistic.
  18. It would still be the best way as it takes the people most susceptible to severe symptoms of the equation and allows for relative continuation of society.
  19. No, if he was it would have finished with Thank you, "may I have another." ?
  20. The best course would be for people that are at risk for being critically sick to quarantine themselves this way. For 95% of the population you be smart about and do thing you should do anyway with hygiene. Will people get sick yes, will a few die probably. But it will be less than your average flu season if those precautions are followed.
  21. He's got that old fashion whip to it with lightning wrists.
  22. That's just wrong. Making fun of the vertically challenged. ?
  23. I never said it wasnt a big deal. It just that those are the ones that are susceptible and most know which is why 80% or so will have only mild symptoms. People should get their yearly physical and they would know.
  24. Obesity and diet wont qualify as immunosuppressive. Heart disease will. There will always be some but they are still rare I. the population in general.
  25. Deaths in the 20 -50 range are rare and typically are people that have a concomitant issue comprimising their immune system ranging from infections to cardiopulmonary issues. It's rare that any healthy adult would die but they can happen.
