FS: Jake Burger: Forgotten, but not (yet) gone
He's been insisting that he is over weight and out of shape due to his build since they drafted him. He is consistent. Just like he insists that the elite athletes like JJ Watt and Serena Williams have to be one PEDS because no one can look like that without help. Genetics plays a large part in what your body is and can't always be changed to a great extent. Or sometimes people have an genetic advantage and can build more muscle and coordination than the average person, thus why they are elite athletes. He's correct for many people but there are genetic exceptions.

That would be a tough sell for the agent as it guarantees one of the clients is a backup. I dont think he would do that to trubiskey unless Mariota gets no other offers.

FS: Jake Burger: Forgotten, but not (yet) gone
But is a real possibility. Rehab from one rupture is tough enough. It's not surprising that he had other issues after a second one especially heel issues as the physician probably tightened it up pretty good.

FS: Jake Burger: Forgotten, but not (yet) gone
It possible but there is usually information released when this happens, especially with a high profile pick like this.

FS: Jake Burger: Forgotten, but not (yet) gone
He can't be away from the team after the mandatory reporting date without the team's permission. So it's obviously something the team is ok with. Maybe it's retirement but I doubt it.

I think the stats from last year were 1% of illinois taxpayers earned 400,000 or more. That isn't very many in the super stupid rich category. That makes probably 99.5% of the population in the "not free" classification.

I'm pretty confident that very few people have insurance with no deductible. Not sure were you found that but nearly everyone through our clinic has a substantial one per family member and per family.

You've obviously haven't spend time living and working in those countries. It absolutely not true by your definition. They are beholden to the almighty currency as anyone. Especially Switzerland. I've worked in Zurich, the cost of living there is impossibly high. It puts Chicago to shame.

Reinsdorf makes money off Cubs network
They said in an earlier release that Hulu will carry it but not until closer to the regular season. They said way but I don't remember what it was.

Reinsdorf makes money off Cubs network
Did they say if it is truly a JR ownership or the White Sox or Bulls ownership groups that own it? Just curious, as they are all distinctly different groups.

Sox in Discussions for Moncada Extension per Y2Jimmy
This is all true. however, my question is, are all of these issues directly from the FO or from JR? There is no doubt that the FO hasn't shown results yet. If they don't win this year and start competing for the playoffs next year, they should be gone. In the end it is all MLB results. However, with the way they have implemented and executed the new plan, they really don't seem to be incompetent.

Sox in Discussions for Moncada Extension per Y2Jimmy
It's not that they couldn't win with the old philosophy, it's that that it was difficult to win with the old philosophy and the restrictions from JR. they did not succeed at it, no doubt. However, with the restrictions they have a total rebuild with young affordable players was the best chance of making it work. the FO is doing all of these extensions because it gives them cost certainty in the future and they will have a better budget plan.

Sox in Discussions for Moncada Extension per Y2Jimmy
It may not be successful, that's why I said maybe. But i don't think the drastic change in philosophy was just because the FO woke up one day and said, "let's totally change the way we approach this team." KW said for years that he always presented two plans to JR for the year. One to continue to add to the team and another to rebuild and start over. Being a player development guy, he knew which one he wanted. I think everything changed when Sale and Eaton "mutinied" in the clubhouse and they finally convinced JR that it wasn't working and JR gave them the go ahead for a total rebuild.

Sox in Discussions for Moncada Extension per Y2Jimmy
My point exactly. Was it their change in philosophy or was it they were finally allowed to pursue their philosophy.

Sox in Discussions for Moncada Extension per Y2Jimmy
This wasn't an attempt at trolling, I've never done that over the 15 years I've been on this board, rather to make posters look at the bigger picture. Maybe it wasn't solely the decisions of the FO guiding the previous philosophy. Maybe they had orders from someone above them to not do a rebuild. Once they were allowed to maybe, it's not over yet, but maybe they had the right philosophy all along.

So how can the same people be bad GMs and know nothing, yet know what they are doing and make good moves now?
-
Sox in Discussions for Moncada Extension per Y2Jimmy
Before this offseason most posters did. They've been trying to fire them for the last 6-7 years at least.

"Too loyal" has been viewed as a negative by many here in the past. Maybe some will rethink the "too loyal" and start to appreciate it.

Keith Law's Top 100 for 2020
I thought that's what people were doing. They were freaking out because of what he's said about certain prospects. That would mean they value his opinion enough to rail against it.
