  1. Hopeful, but don't trust them and doubt they can get it done. Is that what I've gleaned from our discussion? Or is my comprehension off on that as well.
  2. The problem is it's not incredibly simple to accomplish. Otherwise MLB wouldn't have as many bad teams as they do.
  3. Again, you said would didn't trust the system oerformance and wouldn't give them the benefit of the doubt. I apologize that I took that to meant that you didn't think they could develop good players. Those statements mean something different to me.
  4. Sorry you didn't say that they won't produce anything from the minor, you said it was doubtful they would and isn't a good bet. But my point remains that you don't trust the system to produce productive players. So what do you think would be the best way to get the Sox back to be competitive?
  5. I have no problem with they fact they have drafted poorly because it is a fact. The problem I have is that you need to look forward on how to build the current team. So tell me how you want to do it. If you're convinced that to current results in the minors mean nothing how are you going to build the team?
  6. I think this would be fine. Even if they sign one of the big 2, they need a CF.
  7. I know. That's why I think its their plan B if they don't get either if the big 2.
  8. I'm not being petty. You can't say that the Sox won't develop prospects and at the same time say they can build from within. You need to either think that they will develop at least a couple of good players or go out and acquire talent someone else devloped.
  9. You can't agree with the plan if your premise is that the Sox won't draft and develop good players. You are assuming no internal help.
  10. Then you should be pushing for them to sign all of these free agents because you are counting on no help from the minors. They will need to compete at some point so they better sign free agents now, Grandal, brantley, Lynn and the others welcome aboard!
  11. I guess they should abandoned the plan and sign all the free agents then. If you expecting the prospects to fail, you better sign MLB players now.
  12. No one deserves the benefit of the doubt until they prove it in the MLB. Ut these last drafts have produced better performances in the minors than any in recent memory. Just going by results.
  13. In the short term it may. However, I think Harper will have a greater impact on the lineup if the prospects show up and turn into above average players.
  14. I would agree prior to the last 2 drafts. The last 2 have shown a lot of promise throughout the minors.
  15. I would classify Rodon as better than serviceable. However, your point is well taken. There have been very few.
  16. It would definitely prolong the rebuild. Because other than Jimenez, I'm not sure how many of the prospects will be ready to contribute this year.
  17. That would be another version of plan B. It kind of sounds like they want to get the competitive window started though.
  18. The more I think about it, it makes sense. A team of Jimenez, JBJ and brantley in the OF, the current INF and Grandal at C, with nova and Lynn in the rotation would be the start of a. Competitive team. Add the prospects as prospects come up over the next 2 to 3 years, those players drop off and you start competing for the WS.
  19. Yep. As someone else said, they should have a plan B ready. Maybe that's what all the "white Sox in on pretty much eveyone" is all about.
  20. It's been a debate for years. But a particularly heated one this past year.
  21. The Sox will need a decent CF. They don't have any near MLB ready. At earliest a callup in late 2020.
  22. The spending stupid money comment really wasn't smart business because in reality it is all stupid money. It just going downhill to idiot money now.
  23. You've always said it only comes down to the most money. All of the other stuff like city, team atmosphere, or personnel don't matter. So if the Sox offer the most they'll get him.
