  1. Agreed just trying to figure out why they may take one package over another
  2. Maybe the preference was to get younger players for the future as they won't ne competitive for a couple years.
  3. Not like Kopech was having a stellar year. He's a talent project who hasn't lived up to any potential. What was he really worth?
  4. Maybe the league just isn't sold on Fedde being able to continue this performance.
  5. I think it's all about what they need to give up. It looks like the ask for Crochet is pretty high from that return. I guess we see if anyone meets it or if Getz folds under the pressure.
  6. I disagree. I like the Cease trade and the Grossman trade.
  7. Wasn't that the reason JR gave as to why he hired Getz? It shouldn't come as a surprise.
  8. How can it not? That limits the teams that will pay for an extension with a player that has 2 more years of control.
  9. I agree. The really did well to get out of that contract and get a good starting pitcher.
  10. Right, he is only playing dh as he can't play the field yet. So hiw long us it going to take to get up to playing speed. I guess he could be ready in a few weeks. Just seems weird that, the cardinals get out if his contract and he may not play much while getting a decent starting pitcher and a 4th OF.
  11. He also had wrist surgery and probably won't play this year.
  12. Yeah, how do the cardinals give up only edman and get fedde and pham? I'm not sure edman will ever play much with his weird wrist injury. The cardinals killed it here.
  13. How much are the Dodgers giving up for only Edman? Can't be a ton.
  14. I really can't see him ever managing. He is right where he should be for a career. His knowledge and grasp of the game makes that role perfect for him.
  15. Unless his personality has changed since his playing days, which is possible, he doesn't have the interpersonal skills to be a successful manager.
  16. That's fine. I just disagree and am willing to give the new group a chance before everything is condemned.
  17. I don't disagree. I wouldn't call him good but his teams overall have a better history than some. The hyperbole of he is the worst and nothing will ever go right just gets tiresome as it just isn't true.
  18. I don't know. The orioles had how many 100 loss teams in a row? Seattle has never won the world series. I'm not necessarily a fan of JR but he is not the worst. Again I don't think the single worst season makes him the worst owner. Over time he's probably average to below average.
  19. I would say that JR is the most successful sox owner when it comes to that. Overall his teams and history is nowhere near as bad as teams the orioles who had multiple 100 loss teams or the Cleveland browns or vikings who have won nothing in the modern era. JRs probably aren't as bad as the Bears reams of the modern era.
  20. As the worst owners in sports? I don't think so. He sunk a good amount of payroll for Hahn to give early big contracts to Eloy, Moncada and Robert as well as benentendi. That sunk the rebuild and lead to this.
  21. That's not the topic. The topic was expecting doom because JR is the worst owners in sports. I disagree he is the worst in sports.
