  1. Most agree that Philly isn't looking to add pitching. And if that's the only team, there isn't much leverage to get a good deal.
  2. That's fine but name the teams that are looking to add at the deadline that you would be happy with. Most people on the board have ruled out many of the teams that are willing to deal.
  3. There has to be another team willing to trade. So far no ine like the fit with LA, NY or Atlanta. Baltimore won't trade anyone worth it. Unless dombrowski decides to go nuts they really don't seem to need crochet either. There aren't many teams left and the ones that are do they want to give up a haul for Crochet?
  4. Agreed. If they don't trade him I bet they begin skipping starts to stretch it out over the season. Maybe like Schultz where he the the Friday starter with limited workload.
  5. That's a UCL injury. That's what it looks like when it's it's a traumatic etiology.
  6. Pretty much. It's the fact that you do more of the conditioning but don't stop the pitching. We can do a lot if things fir the arm and body but pitching is still such a unique thing that they need to keep it going to an extent.
  7. Nor out of the realm of possibilities
  8. I agree with him on the deloading. That why I'm still so surprised they pitched Crochet the way they did so gar this season.
  9. Makes sense. Go for value at the top of the draft. Thise a the positions of value.
  10. Why, did JR treat them unfairly with the UC?
  11. Pushing him into innings he's never thrown before? He's well past that already. He's past the number he's thrown in his entire professional career combined.
  12. That would be the smart thing to do. The more innings he throws now the less he can throw for his new team. The tram that is acquiring him will appreciate the shorter outing.
  13. Agreed. Hopefully, some of the advanced college bays they drafted aren't too far away.
  14. That's the wrong way to look at it, in my view. If it's more volatile they need more of it so stock it up through out the pipeline. This way when the team is ready to win they have depth.
  15. Pitching is more volatile with injuries so it's more important to stock up on it.
  16. I disagree. Lean into the strength of having quality pitching to keep the offense down. Obviously, both are needed. However, I like the idea of starting with the pitching then moving to hitting.
  17. I disagree. With offense going down, pitching is more valuable than ever. Start with pitching then move to position players. Looks like they have at least one good one in Thorpe.
  18. Could be. It's been so long, I can't remember that far back.
  19. Dis he have surgery? I thought it was conservative care.
  20. Sure. Once you are cleared to play it doesn't mean there isn't going to be soreness as you ramp up to full playing time. That's to be expected as you increase playing time. That's what the rehab assignments are for. Perdo is odd in his explanation but it's probably exactly what happened.
  21. If you want to look at it that way, I guess. If he's cleared, he's cleared. You are assuming the medical team isn't treating him properly.
  22. You would prefer that they don't tell people that he is cleared?
  23. True, but there were other teams after that which were going to pass on him. The Cardnials were just one that wasn't overly concerned.
  24. I don't see him as captain panic. He seems very patient and thorough with his process. I thought the handling of the Cease trade was good.
