  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 10:25 PM) Terrible having to use the pen like this, the Sale situation, rain delays. That's what made it terrible. Hopefully, making his team pay for his immaturity will make an impression on him.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 10:23 PM) If they have really covered for him multiple other times, my guess is that they couldn't cover this one up for some reason. They tried to with the flu story. My guess is that cutting up all the jerseys was too obvious and a crazy story so it got out.
  3. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 10:12 PM) You don't have to wear them, just give them away. Winning comes first, otherwise this s*** will continue for years and it obviously will until KW is thrown out on his ass You seriously believe that wearing a different uniform makes a difference in winning? This is the difference in winning? Wearing a different jersey? I'm sure KW didn't care about the promotional day other than "ok Brooks."
  4. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 09:09 PM) I can explain. If new info comes out or something I'm using for my assumption is wrong then obviously my stance will change but for now this where I stand. So what I've been seeing is that each staring pitcher for the sox gets to choose what jerseys are worn the day they pitch. Sale told them the '76 jerseys are very uncomfortable and to not wear them when he pitches (exactly the way it's been done to my knowledge). The Sox then basically said to sale (not in these words but the jist of it is there) we don't care that's it's your choice, we don't care that your uncomfortable, we don't care that you may pitch bad, we really don't care if we lose. Sale then decided to cut the jerseys up bc he was sick and tired of the sox front office constantly wanting to put PR and jersey sales above winning baseball games. Now I'm not saying cutting up the jerseys was the best decision or even an ok decision but I'd give Sale a standing ovation for trying to change the f***ing awful culture that exists within the Sox organization that mostly starts in the front office. The goal is to win baseball games and make the playoffs. If nobody does anything this laid back attitude in the front office is never gonna change. Thank you Sale for trying to change the losing culture that exists in the Sox organization, maybe do it in a little different way next time though. Not on days where promotional jerseys are worn and scheduled before the season started.
  5. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 09:08 PM) Which is also partially the FO's fault. Had they set the ground rules years ago that this crap isn't allowed, then these conflicts would be avoided. Sale acted in a very immature manner, no doubt, but come on. This should've never happened if there were established rules in place. Wow, I didn't think was necessary to have specific rules against cutting up your tea mates uniforms.
  6. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 08:23 PM) Not gonna lie. As a fan, I would love to see Sale terrorize the National League. It would be fun to watch.
  7. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 08:20 PM) Sure is a strange way to demonstrate how much you love your organization, and exactly what is it about this team that would make him want to stay on it? I'd guess that he would prefer to be on a contending team and one that could score some runs for him. Don't interpret my comment as siding with him. It's just an observation. Sorry, i thought the sarcasm was obvious.
  8. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 08:16 PM) This is actually your worst post. No kidding. Some people will take any chance to show their bias and just cannot look at things objectively.
  9. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 08:13 PM) This is just yet another White Sox distraction. Always drama with this organization. And of course Sale pulls this nonsense when he's on the trade market and a potential trade return could transform this ballclub. Not that it's going to hurt, but it's incredibly annoying Maybe he really doesnt want to be traded and is using this to lower his value.
  10. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:55 PM) Now we're in a quandary. Do we keep this guy? This isn't somebody I'd want on my team. But if you trade him, do you get the same package you would if this didn't happen? Maybe they could both act like adults and can disagree but still work together. However, that might be a little too much to ask.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:32 PM) Rosenthal said Sale believed Sox were more concerned with jersey sales and PR than his comfort. What an idiot, no one buys Sox jerseys Maybe it was a promotion scheduled before the season even started. He could have asked the team to push his start back a day. Although that would have made him look bad.
  12. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:24 PM) Nice burn Passan.. That is a good one.
  13. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:23 PM) Feels weird. Yeah.
  14. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:21 PM) Seriously... We agree on this one.
  15. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:15 PM) Flu like symptoms are getting crazy these days Maybe the fever from the flu caused the delrium that caused him to attack the bad uniforms.
  16. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:06 PM) Because the front office has made themselves look pretty bad for almost 10 years no? LOL. Or have you not seen the records since 2007? They get NONE, Zero, nada benefit of the doubt in most cases because they haven't earned it have they? Mark None of that has anything to do with a players behavior. Yes they haven't been to the playoffs in years. Doesn't mean they are bad people and treat the players in a way that will influence this behavior. Believe it or not good people can be bad at their jobs.
  17. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:04 PM) Tommy Stokke ‏@StokkeTommy 3m3 minutes ago Not a joke: Source says Sale blowup was because he didn't want to wear throwbacks, so he cut the jerseys up so no one could wear them. IF this is true then that's really stupid by Sale. In this case I can't blame the Sox since this was a big promotional night. I understand the uniforms look like s*** but it's just for one game. Sounds like the trade talk plus another crappy year by the franchise has gotten to him. Mark Still can't believe yo are blaming the sox for his behavior.
  18. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:58 PM) I guess reading is a skill "I don't think anyone will ever really know what happened but IF Sale went off on Robin, Kenny or Hahn and IF it was because he was tired of the BS, tired of the losing in this screwed up organization..." Everyone else is speculating as well. Don't see why you singled mine out unless you simply are on the front office's side. The same front office that has driven this franchise into irrelevancy the past 10 years. Those are the conditions I'd support him. What actually happened may be different as could my support for him. Mark If we will jever know what really happened why did you respond to a bunch of hypothticals and says if it happened the front office is this. You could just have easily said all of the hypothticals about the front office being in the right and then player being wrong. Why did you choose to pick the group of hypothticals where the front office was made to look bad?
  19. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:58 PM) If he did something violent I would agree you have no choice, but that's apparently not the case. Even if he continually verbally abuses them it deserves a punishment.
  20. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:50 PM) SMH...that's even f***ing worse. Why in god's name do you send him home over something like this? I get that he must have thrown a tantrum, but who the f*** cares. If you're sick of his behavior, then sweep this under the rug and deal him. I can't believe you'd actually come out publicly and announce your prized asset is a psychopath a week before the deadline. If its a continued pattern of behavior, eventually you need to do something about it, especially if he went after a clubhouse attendant or someone like that.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:50 PM) There is anger mgmt when you fight over a little kid Only for the one who started the yelling. The other one is just defending himself.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:46 PM) About uniforms https://mobile.twitter.com/JulieDiCaro/stat...998668469858305 There is a anger manaement issue if it started over a uniform.
  23. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:41 PM) Maybe they should have tried to put a winning team around him instead of trying to baby him. Probably would have worked out better... They did try...........they just weren't successful.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:37 PM) Chuck Garfien‏ @ChuckGarfien I'm hearing the Chris Sale incident was over something "stupid." Might have been a joke about getting traded and he flipped out. The clubhouse attendant probably made a joke about cleaning out his locker and he flipped out.
  25. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:29 PM) It's turned into some night eh? LOL. I don't think anyone will ever really know what happened but IF Sale went off on Robin, Kenny or Hahn and IF it was because he was tired of the BS, tired of the losing in this screwed up organization, two things: 1. I'll give the guy a standing ovation 2. I can almost guarantee you he'll be traded. JR will stand by "his guys" over one of the best pitchers in baseball. That's so JR, so White Sox. Remember loyalty is far more important than winning or accountability. Again IF he's had it with losing, I can't blame him. About damn time someone on the field cared about it. Mark There are far too many ifs and could bes in this post to be of any use. Just say you don't like the front office and are on Sale's side .
