This game is so brutal it's almost funny. I'd put money on the RSox scoring 20 tonight. -
No, I don't think he's ever been with WWE. Are you thinking about Colt Cabana ie Scotty Goldman? Danielson was trained by Shawn Michaels, and is a big international draw. There were reports from the past about Shawn telling him he could be with WWE whenever he wanted, but he didn't want to go to them and be a jobber. He had an asking price unlike some of the other "indie" guys that have been signed, and now it looks like that price has been met.

PWInsider reporting that ROH star Bryan Danielson has agreed to a contract with WWE. Also, totally agree with the above about SSlam - surprisingly great. Loved the main event, and the DX match I thought was going to be super-boring, but it wasn't.

Man, the Mariners bullpen just sucks.

Aarsdma looks pretty bad here.

Let's go M's - 3 outs!

QUOTE (longshot7 @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 12:54 PM) Why the hell did they send Rowland-Smith back out there after the delay? Oh, they didn't - I misread the feed.

Yup.

2nd time thru the lineup problems it looks like. Not good.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 10:48 AM) Rod Allen: "Those two out walks are deadly." really? worse than the lead off walk? What about the one out walk, Rod? this is pretty stupid, but the whole, I like Rod Allen a lot. I feel he's knowledgeable and does a good amount of homework. Impemba not so much, but Allen is good.

Wed, Sept 2 in Minnesota instead of the 8/28 start in NY then.

They are wrong - this won't be his last start in the minors per Kenny from last week.

QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 10:27 PM) A lot is going to hinge on Freddy's performance tomorrow. If Freddy looks good and uses all his pitches, the leash on Contreras just got a heck of a lot shorter. One good outing by Freddy plus one more bad outing by Full Count should mean Hudson is up until Peavy is back, because then there will be only 2 starts(?) left out of what is essentially the 6th spot of the rotation. I have more faith in Freddy tomorrow than I've had in Contreras and Colon all season. The guy flat out knows how to pitch and is a true competitor. If Freddy can consistently work in the 88-91 range he has enough secondary stuff to shut down any lineup on any given day. I really hope he's back for the rest of the season because out of all the other 5th starter options, nobody is a better bet for a stretch of big games than a healthy Freddy. The guy shut us down with Detroit last year for about 5 innings or so before they went to the pen, and I believe he was only working in the 83-86 range at that point. A healthy Freddy is a huge addition to this team and, if we make the playoffs, potentially a huge addition out of the bullpen as well. I'm not saying he could do what El Duque did against Boston, but he could be like another El Duque in the sense that if Linebrink gets us in a real bind like Marte did back then, Freddy is one veteran with enough offspeed tricks up his sleeve to work his way out of a jam. So tomorrow I hope Freddy is lights-out for at least 5 innings, and then Contreras bombs out on Wednesday but in a game we come back and win. That way we get Freddy as our #5 for the rest of the year and we also get to see Hudson make his MLB debut and at least get one more start afterwards. Of course Freddy could show his fastball is still way down and end up getting torched, but IMO the above is the best case scenario. Why would you hope for Jose to get bombed on Wednesday? I couldn't care less about Hudson if it means Jose regains his stuff and is lights out the rest of the way. Unlikely, I know - but isn't that the best case scenario?

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 01:29 PM) The Tigers defense has been better then us all year. The move for Huff doesn't improve it at all. The fact is we've been on their heels all year. Ideally, another week of Nix at 2b, and now with, Rios in CF should close the gap even further. As to the Huff trade, yes you are right. But overall since their defense is vastly better than ours, it's not insignificant. That's the only gripe I had with your post.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 01:01 PM) The Tigers defense remains superior to our own, but ultimately, I’d say this does little to affect the divisional race. I completely disagree. Don't you think we would have won 3 more games (at least) if our defense hadn't been so shoddy? There's probably a stat to back up this claim.

One is premeditated murder, one is manslaughter. Not the same.
-
Don't forget the Sox defense committed two errors behind Jose in the 4th on Friday, both of which led to runs.
-
That ball hit to Nix was definitely an error. Hard to stop the flow when you're not that good and your defense commits two errors in one inning that leads to runs.
-
pods dh, beckham5, jd9, pk3, rios8, q 7, ram6, nix4, castro2. Contreras pitching.
-
I actually like Farmer.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 05:15 AM) Seeing how Minnesota and Detroit are equally as bad right now, and the Sox are only 2 games back, I think this kind of talk is silly. Thank you! Someone I agree with. Why can't we be the 2006 Cardinals?
-
I don't think they will move Carlos there until Spring Training at the earliest, where he can get used to it - reading balls off the bat and whatnot.
