QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 4, 2009 -> 05:58 AM) Has anyone see "Man On Wire"? I thought that movie was very bizarre/strange...it won so many good reviews, but I would watch Borat, Bruno, American Movie or Waiting for Guffman about 100 times before watching that movie again. great doc - why do you list it amongst mockumentaries? A lot of it was re-enacted, and the main character was nuts, but it was extremely well made, and real.

Wolverine was AWFUL, a total abortion of a film, and so laughably bad, I did just that, numerous time sin the theatre - laugh at a supposed serious scene. It was worse than Daredevil - completely unenjoyable, broke all kinds of logic that it sets up, and adds nothing to the character's story, which (i thought) was the point in the first place. s***. Pure s***.
  3. Have you guys heard of the Sass Dragons? A friend swears by them, but I've never heard of them.
  4. why was Miller even on the floor at the end of the game - that's my question.
  5. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Apr 27, 2009 -> 09:32 PM) thats the only reason i continue to watch stuff like miz messing with cena, MVP vs. Orton (duno where the hell thats heading, as sadly, it looks like mvp will just be burried back to mid card), keep me watching. i love the idea of mvp vs. ____. I vote for The Miz. Or a Miz/HBK feud where Michaels decides to teach him respect.
  6. QUOTE (The Critic @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 10:19 PM) Anvil kicked my ass tonight. I went to Metro fully expecting to enjoy the documentary and leave after they played two songs. I could not have been more wrong. They were excellent tonight. From the first note to the last, they left it all on the field. Robb Reiner is maybe the best drummer no one's heard of. He was phenomenal. What a total shock, and a very, VERY pleasant shock at that. Oh, and the movie is terrific too. I will absolutely purchase it the day it comes out on DVD. All in all, I give it a: :headbang :headbang The movie was UNBELIEVABLE - can't wait to see the band. Are they still playing as a three-piece?
  7. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 21, 2009 -> 10:52 PM) I didn't do the entire fest, but I was in and out a few times. It was nice to be able to drive home, take a shower and get in my bed every night and not have to go stanky for 3 days. Yeah, me too - did Friday & Sunday, slept all day Sat - we didnt get home Fri until 6am. Great fest.
  8. GREAT ppv last night - way better than Mania imo. Terrific matches given the time they needed. Loved the heels walking out with the belts - Edge is theman, and props to creative coming up with something newish for the end to that match. Loved that HHH took the pin in his match - wonder how long both guys will be out. Cena/Show on Raw, with Cena leaving in a month for a movie. Edge/? on Smackdown good good stuff.
  9. Funny - reading a lot of the above made me wonder....isn't this the Democrat thread?
  10. Coachella was awesome btw - McCartney, Leonard Cohen, M Ward, Los Campinesos, X, Silversun Pickups, Murder City Devils, My Bloody Valentine (loudest show I've ever seen), and The Cure (who continued to play even after the promoters pulled the plug on them about three hours into their set.)
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 06:12 PM) Actually the more I read this the less I see about anything to flip out over. State secrets are state secrets for a reason which is something that privacy advocates can't get with and never will - there is openness, and then there is damage to national security. It's not really something that can be looked at in a vacuum, but of course it's neatly summarized into a sexy headline "Obama's DoJ Defends Bush-era Wiretapping" The other issues is that the people who perpetrated the warrantless wiretapping in the Bush Admin need to be PROSECUTED - and this is disappointing that it looks like Obama's DOJ won't do that. I mean, the 4th Amendment is pretty clear - people that go around it need to be taught a lesson.

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Mar 31, 2009 -> 07:38 PM) Considering you thought Miami Vice was great, I'll take that as a positive sign, and I'm not even a fan of Star Trek. The costumes look Ben Stiller Starsky and Hutch-level bad. If you're going to reinvent everything, why not that?
  13. If you didn't like the MITB match then maybe you need to question whether or not you like wrestling at all. What a great, fun, spot-filled car wreck (in a good way). One of the best MITBs.
  14. Btw, Brian, lots of feuds are started at Mania and not just ended. Backlash has always had good amounts of rematches. I didn't like the ending of HHH/RKO either, but just sayin......
  15. I thought the PPV was pretty good - Taker/HBK was a masterpiece, MITB was excellent, Hardy v Hardy was terrific, Steamboat/Jericho was a lot of fun, and even the three-way was pretty good. The Ending to the Orton/HHH match was ridiculous - yes, they were running out of time, but Orton doesn't even get to kick out of the pedigree once? BS. Kid Rock was completely extraneous and wasted valuable time - there were no introductions to the Diva Battle Royal, so we didn't get to know who were the former Divas in the match. Other than that, I had a good time. Taker/Michaels was worth $55 by itself.
  16. I think Urlacher was just going out of his way to not look like he was trashing Orton. Orton was a captain and a good teammate so sometime you just need time to adjust to change.
  17. Apparently he gave a speech to players the night before urging them to stay at USC. What a dick. http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/...sy-of-tim-floyd
  18. No, and I'm of the mind we shouldn't have made that trade in 05 either.
  19. Even the buildup for HHH/RKO has been bad - until Orton finally got his heat back, Trips continually was upstaging him, and the IED thing was beyond lame. Orton's promo the other night was ok but was he really saying he's waited 5 years for revenge after the Evolution-turning-on-him angle? REALLY? 5 YEARS? That being said, I think the match will be good, and as much as I dislike him, Orton better win or this whole thing has been for nought.
  20. April Fools is LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME
  21. Mania might be good, but this build was dismal. Any fence-sitters out there opting NOT to get it?

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 29, 2009 -> 09:10 AM) He usually is, yes. But that 2006 Miami Vice resurrection film was awful. I thought it was terrific actually - waaaaaaay better than I thought it was gonna be.
  24. I watched a flag football game for 10-yr-olds this weekend and after that, I have to say I greatly disagree with the original author. As boring as I find soccer at times, I think it's very valuable for children to learn - both the teamwork and competition angles but also that it doesn't really stop like football and baseball does. With all the video games and such, I think it's great for kids to run around for a change.
