  1. I love the idea, but to play devil's advocate, where would the Angels put Kendry Morales? He had a breakout year last year and provided very good defense at 1B. If they were to move him to LF, then they'd either have to trade Rivera or platoon them (and I don't see that happening). If Paulie's designed to replace Vlad in the lineup and switch off at 1B/DH with Morales, it stil seems unlikely to me considering Paulie's lack of speed and declining hitting. Believe me, I'd love it, but the Angels don't seem to be a good place for PK.
  2. JBTV also used to have great live performance footage that you couldn't see anywhere else.

Let the Right One In is great but you have to read the subtitles that were on the film version of it to get the full story. The dvd ones are different and not as accurate.

QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 06:41 AM) Okay so instead of bumping the thread of the year I will post this here. "Precious" was an excellent movie. The acting really got me with it and I actually enjoyed it more than my girl did . I will still never watch a Tyler Perry comedy but his drama's I will give a chance cause it was just that well made IMO. It seems extremely depressing, like Monster's Ball meets the Color Purple. Is it that bad?
  5. QUOTE (Felix @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 10:33 AM) It probably isn't particularly hard to do that (I think I've done it in the past with some googling), but I'm being loyal and waiting for the CD to arrive. I think their leaking of the CD on YouTube a week before it was officially released is a pretty interesting strategy, and I'll "honor their trust" (or something like that) by not torrenting it or ripping the YouTube audio. Believe me, Dave Grohl doesn't care about downloading. He's encouraged it at several of the FF shows I've been to.
  6. QUOTE (beck72 @ Nov 10, 2009 -> 02:15 PM) The sox could very well be looking at this type of lineup in 2010. Can't say I'm overly impressed. But it would be an upgrade defensively. 1. [DH] Scott Podsednik 2. [2B] Gordon Beckham 3. [LF] Carlos Quentin 4. [1b] Paul Konerko 5. [C] AJ Pierzynski 6. [CF] Alex Rios 7. [3b] Mark Teahen 8. [sS] Alexei Ramirez 9. [RF] Jordan Danks Bench: Tyler Flowers Jayson Nix Mark Kotsay De Aza Yuck.
  7. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 12:51 PM) What album did they cover? Exile on Main Street. I was not there though. I don't like Phish altho this would have been interesting to hear. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 9, 2009 -> 04:48 PM) Did he make one? I thought the whole thing was it was a free internet download sensation, I'm pretty sure he'd be eff'd copyright wise. You can download it from pretty much anywhere. The Beatles would not let him legally sell it, that's why he put it online for people for free.

The more I think about Where the Wild Things Are, the more I like it. Saw it over the weekend, and it's not an easy film to digest. I was surprised by how different it was from what I expected and I really liked that. Thumbs up.
  9. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Nov 10, 2009 -> 06:51 AM) i thought that too, but they aren't charging for the view. then, i also found this... Rented or Purchased Movies May Be Played By Teachers Without a License Section 110(1) of Title 17 of the United States Code grants a specific exemption from the copyright laws for: performance or display of a work by instructors or pupils in the course of face-to-face teaching activities of a nonprofit educational institution, in a classroom or similar place devoted to instruction, unless, in the case of a motion picture or other audiovisual work, the performance, or the display of individual images, is given by means of a copy that was not lawfully made under this title, and that the person responsible for the performance knew or had reason to believe was not lawfully made .... This means that no license from the copyright holder is required when a teacher at a public school or non-profit educational institution uses a lawfully purchased or rented copy of a movie in classroom instruction. It doesn't matter who purchased or rented the film, so long as it was legally obtained. The exemption is granted for "face-to-face" teaching activities only. This means that the teacher (or a substitute teacher) must be present. The exemption covers a "classroom or similar place devoted to instruction". This gives teachers some flexibility. For example, it is likely that a gymnasium used for large educational presentations in which several classes are convened together would be covered so long as a teacher presented the film. Note that remotely accessing a film from a central memory storage facility is probably not permitted. See 17 U.S.C. § 1201(a). This is accurate. How else do colleges and universities get away with screening whole films for Film classes?
  10. It would be the best rotation of all time but there would be no one to hit the ball.
  11. QUOTE (joeynach @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 11:37 AM) Ok so if Bacon is going be our future 2B and were keeping Alexi at SS isn't it more crucual to find a stud defensive 3B. Especially considering how bad our D was last year and how improving your defense really improves your pitching. You would think Tehean fits that role KW was talking about a DH that can be rotated in and out of the lineup, like the way the Jays or A's do it. That leaves 3B, a crucial defensive position, open for maybe Figgins, Beltre, or another defensive stud or even leadoff hitter. The other, less likely option, but still a possibility nonetheless is that Teahen is a bench player and Kenny signs Chone Figgins for 3B. That would be real interesting.....
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 11:14 AM) ~3.5M this year...probably will get closer to 4M. arbitration? or why is it not set?
  13. Acquire is spelled wrong in the thread title too!
  14. Rooting for the Yanks - can't bring myself to root for the NL. Yuck.
  15. According to Bubba the Love Sponge (Hogan's best friend), Hulk is the main booker now in TNA. Here are his tweets: 1. Hogan will anounce that he has signed with Dixie Carter and tna and he is the boss. Period. Him and Eric biscoff will run the show. 2. The boss boss. No work. He wouldn't go back to only be the work boss. He is the boss boss. Promise. 3. he is the Booker. Period. Saw it in his contract 4. Terry and Eric won't make the same mistakes that they made at wcw. Oh my God, this is going to be craptastic! He's the booker now! http://twitter.com/BTLSRadio
  16. I support Jamie. She was the brains behind the operation anyway.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) Hopefully Hogan won't be wrestling. Bischoff is a great on camera personality. Bischoff won't be on-camera apparently. He'll be trying to produce new shows for them to extend their brand. Hogan has been non-committal in tv interviews about actually wrestling for TNA, but as he definitely is on the Hulkamania Australia tour, I don't see how he won't. What remains to be seen is how often and how much of a presence he'll be on tv. It's hard to believe he'll have any interest in helping the company get their young stars over, which is what they need. TNA's main problem is that it often seems like they don't know what their main focus should be. One moment it's the X Division, the next it's the Main Event Mafia (and who cares?), the next it's the Tag & Womens divisions. They lack a singular focus the way (for better or worse) that Vince McMahon has. So apparently Dixie has the power now and Russo has the book completely - they book Bound for Glory, their self-described version of Wrestlemania to get their young talent over. AJ retires Sting, Morgan over Angle, dynamite women's matches, and they set up a rematch three years in the making for the next ppv of Styles v Samoa Joe v Christopher Daniels. This looks good. And then they bring in Hogan. WHY???? Almost like when they brought in Kevin Nash TO ACTUALLY WRESTLE instead of do backstage vignettes. HOW DOES THIS GET OVER THE STARS YOU HAVE TO BUILD YOU COMPANY AROUND????? Dixie will learn the way Vince did recently - there is no money in Hogan anymore. None. Hopefully, it won't be after he pins Styles clean in the middle of the ring, with a leg drop that no one cares about anymore.
  18. Hogan signs with TNA, and Bischoff comes with him. Ugh. http://pwinsider.com/article/42534/hulk-ho...th-him.html?p=1

QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 11:20 AM) Hopefully a bunch of questions are answered in this one. What is in the box given to Jill? What happened to Dr. Gordon? What happened to Daniel Matthews (eric matthews son)? I still think Detective Tapp is still alive, I know he was shot in chest in saw 1, I still think he is alive and saves the day eventually. As for Erickson who called medics at end of saw 5, I'm sure he will be tested or killed but idk, curious how that end scene finishes. Tagline for saw 6 (Game comes full cirlce), interests me the most about this movie. Didn't we see Daniel's death in Saw 3?
  21. QUOTE (The Critic @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 12:40 AM) Impact spoiler: Nigel McGuiness will debut as Desmond Wolf tonight on Impact after WWE rescinded their contract offer. Apparently there was some medical test results WWE was skittish about so they never delivered a written contract to him. The story I read specifically said there were no PED's or anything like that, just something in the test results that concerned them enough to pull the offer. Bryan Danielson is still expected to sign with WWE and debut soon. Apparently the medical tests just reinforced their qualms about his two torn biceps muscles and multiple concussions. I don't blame WWE - that's a big financial risk if the guy turns out to be another Kennedy.
  22. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 09:37 PM) Stras hung that curve, C.J. did not miss it. didnt know they wear the big league jerseys - why not the Peoria team jersey?
  23. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 21, 2009 -> 12:16 PM) I hate when people talk about the Yankees buying the World Series. Yes, they are doing that this year, but I'm pretty sure the Red Sox had the highest payroll ever to win a World Series in 2004. And they had an even higher payroll when they won it in 2007. I called Boston the "New Evil Empire" all year that year and ever since. They're just as bad, and their fans are worse.
