    PC help please ...

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Dec 31, 2005 -> 03:40 AM) Start->Run Type 'services.msc' and hit enter. There you should see a service called 'Print Spooler' and you can set it to automatically start up all the time. Same as above.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) Start --> Run Type 'CMD', hit OK. Type 'net start spooler', then Enter. Response to this procedure: The dependency service or group failed to start.
  3. No "Wait till next year", this year! 2005 was great and cannot be topped. but let's hope 2006 brings another parade through the south side of Chicago in late October.
  4. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) Yes what all us liberals represent. You don't have the first clue about what liberals represent. You really don't. Every time it tries to get explained about what a genuine conservative or liberal actually represents in this forum, it just gets shat on - because people would rather have their own opinion uncluttered by fact, or perspective. And that's fine. And it goes for both sides. Nobody listens because it gets in the way of their pissing match. It's sad really. That's exactly what has me turned off about listening to anything from "the other side". There have been issues on here over the months that I have changed my stance on. There have been others that I came into the fray agreeing with basic liberal stance. But, I see none of that openmindedness from the devout liberals on here. None. It's made me take more of a hardline conservative stance just to combat the rhetoric. Now, as I type all this, I realize that I'm becoming what has pissed me off. Screw that. It's not worth it. I'm going to step back and try to be more openminded again. You guys blather your always anti-Bush pro-liberal garbage, and if one you ever makes a point that not based on the party line, I'll consider it.
  5. I saw something about on TV. I can't remember where. My buddy looked at me and, without realizing exactly what he was saying, said "No way I'd drink any of that s***."

I'll let you guys know how it went after I get home from from work. Thanks for the suggestions.
  7. Do you guys remember how much b****ing and whining there was around here because because locals couldn't get Sox playoff tickets because of the out of state guys buying them all? That's what this is all about. The Bears, however, should include Indiana into the equation because of the close proximity. I don't think that would have been difficult or required much forethought.
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 31, 2005 -> 03:07 AM) I'm sorry but Taveras for Contereas is insane when you have Brian Anderson. They'd have to offer at least a stud prospect, or someone like Chris Burke as well, to at least get KW thinking on this one. Total agreement. Taveras should be a throw in along with whoever the Sox really want.
  9. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) If messageboard rhetoric is what influences your vote, maybe its best that you just stay home on election day. No. Absolutely not. I'm getting a first class view of what all you liberals represent. I'll be at the voting booth, you can bet your ass on that.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 12:36 PM) As soon as Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi can request and get free air time on all the networks for speeches to try to bump up their approval ratings, we can talk about their PR Offensives, ok? They get their fair share of air time. All they have to do is open their mouths.
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) This discussion of AA Opened with others bashing AA for taking donations. I responded by pointing out that all of the other media guys do almost the same thing - it's just a question of what they're giving away. O'Reilly can do whatever the heck he wants or sell whatever he wants, I could care less. If people are willing to pay that fee, it's a smart business move, and I have no interest in bashing him for it. But I find it totally contradictory to say that AA is clearly losing money because they're asking for money when guys like O'Reilly, Limbaugh, etc., are all doing the same thing, and that the statement I've been trying to respond to. If AA is asking for "donations" they are in serious need of financial help. A conservative offers a service or product for a fee. A liberal sticks his hand out.
  12. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:18 AM) That kid has some serious balls. And a serious shortage of brains.
  13. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) They are selling something different than O'Reilly. They are selling passion and ownership in what its fans see as a "movement." You may call it pathetic, I call it - and most bottom line folk in the communications industry see it as "maximizing revenue." I call it .... eh ... never mind.
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:16 AM) So Air America gets bashed in this thread for selling exactly the same sorts of "Memberships", but then when I try to turn it around and point out how O'Reilly, Limbaugh et al. do exactly the same thing, I get that as a reply. It seems to me that you bashed O'Reilly, then gave kudos to AA for asking for donations while giving away bumper stickers and stuff as a thank you.

    PC help please ...

I know some of you guys are PC geniuses. I have a problem I cannot seem to solve. I am trying to install an HP printer onto a Dell PC that runs Micrsoft XP. The printer and software will not install because the print spooler is not running. I have tried various fixes thru Dell websites and HP support, but I can't get the spooler enabled. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  16. This can turn out to be a very good move for the Marlins. You know Olivo has the tools. Now if Girardi can get inside his head and teach him to think like a good catcher, they may have lucked into something.
  17. I found this little nugget of info in a Denver Post article about Willie Harris:
  18. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 06:47 AM) Put yourself into Baltimore shoes. Would you rather have a package with Jose Contreras or Mark Prior / Carlos Zambrano as the main ingredient to a trade? That's why if the Cubs have something on the table like that, a deal with Contreras and Uribe won't be enough to get Tejada. We shouldn't go any higher than that in my mind (unless you throw in a prospect who isn't top 3). Somebody's gotta play SS for the O's. They could do much worse than Uribe.
  19. Out of the Boston Herald: I wonder what KW really has on the table, if anything.
  20. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 01:03 PM) And thank God George W. Bush righted that wrong and launched an invasion of the people who were responsible for the Cole when he took office. What a brave act that was, and it certainly saved thousands of American lives from future attacks. It happened on Clinton's watch. It was his responsibility to respond. If Bush had responded two+ years after the fact you would have screamed bloody murder. I'll tell you something, in all honesty. The rhetoric you guys put out here has about driven me to the point that I won't even consider voting for any democrat for any office.
  21. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) I dont really pay a great deal of attention to opinion polls anyway. You're always gonna have 40% that will back Bush no matter what, 40% that will oppose Bush no matter what and the fickle middle 20% that are actually swayed by news events. About the only exception to this was in the aftermath of 9-11 when Bush was like 89% approve or whatever. Clinton fits both criteria.
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) Actually I'd say that I didn't know that myself, I just grabbed that from a press release. Does the money from his $50 memberships go to charity as well? What? O'Rielly has to give everything away? Or is being successful and making a buck against liberal principals?
