  1. I agree with JimH. It's way too early to give up on a solid veteran like JD. Though, I don't know what his problem is defensively. He's reputed to be a solid defensive outfielder.
  2. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 11, 2005 -> 12:56 AM) How many squeeze bunts have we seen already this year with the boppers coming up. Its almost like Ozzie is in a panic to get some runs in before 3-4-5 get up to kill the rally. How about this for some changes to spice things up Pods LF Iguchi 2b Uribe SS Everett DH Konerko 1B AJ C Crede 3b Arow CF Brian Anderson RF To answer your question .... One.
  3. If you take a wife and little kids to the game, you should bring a glove with you. Could make all the difference in the world. Just saying.
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ May 10, 2005 -> 10:19 AM) Gotta gripe about something.. I'll be nice here and make no gender based remarks.
  5. Fox News just stated the the Trib is reporting that charges will be files today on the murder of the 2 little girls in Zion. Link
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ May 10, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) Robin mentioned it during his broadcast in ST, so I would say that Hawks surgery was known about then. OK. Even with that. To have people expecting the guy to get coaching for a 3 day gig, when he doesn't have any apparent long term plans to try and make a career out of it, is asking a lot.
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ May 10, 2005 -> 10:05 AM) Robin knew he was doing the Tampa games in ST. Didn't this just come up due to Hawk's detached retina surgery?

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 10, 2005 -> 08:39 AM) I've read it three times and still can't picture what exactly happened. Not that it's any consolation, but that family is gonna get major bank. You are correct. It's is no consolation what so ever. Money means nothing under these circumstances.
  10. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 10, 2005 -> 10:02 AM) EXACTLY, it's not so much what Ventura and Pall say, it's how they say it. You'd think they'd get some coaching. They were last minute fillins doing a favor for the Sox. Damn we are a critical bunch.
  11. I think we need to stop trying to examine the personal details of Willie Harris's life and let the family mourn in peace.
  12. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ May 10, 2005 -> 06:17 AM) well yeah....we're 6-0 against a weak team.....you want us to be 3-3. We should always beat weak teams. Everyone has to play "weak teams" 18 or 19 times in their divisions.....we happen to start off 6-0 against ours....Which is what we should do against them.

  14. Still watching with interest. Thanks.
  15. And Joliet used to be such a nice town. :headshake Congrats!

  17. Hey guys. I've been thinking about this "weak schedule" BS. Usually, when someone brings that up, they throw a comment about 6 wins vs. KC in there to empahsize their point. The best response to that has got be something along the lines of, "That's true, we are 6-0 against a weak Kansas City team. However, if you just throw away those 6 victories and not even count them, WE'D STILL BE IN FIRST PLACE." Feel free to use this against any imbecilic Cub fans you encounter.
  18. We don't need Frank in our line up? Have you looked at our team OBP lately? I can't believe anyone could possible think that and consider it logical.
  19. Chris wasn't a bad ballplayer for the Sox when he was healthy. He came down with a bad wrist or something, and couldn't hit a lick for a while.
  20. QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 8, 2005 -> 07:11 PM) Sweep ......................................................record in 1 run games is awesome. Our record is awesome!
  21. I've actually enjoyed DJ and the Pope.
  22. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 8, 2005 -> 06:47 PM) Ozzie explained why he stuck with Marte and didn't bring Shingo in at all in the 9th... Ozzie says he goes with his gut instinct, but he usually has a pretty damn good reason behind that gut instinct.
  23. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ May 8, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) Shingo has earned the Job back. Marte had no business being out there in the ninth after Zaun was up. It's like even when he pitches well Ozzie still has no confidence in him. Shingo has pitched well lately and he should be the closer. I have more faith in Shingo than I do with Marte. Hermy should be out there if Shingo is tired or the matchup dictates it. The matchup didn't dictate Hermy being out there. Marte should only be out there if the matchup dictates it. Unfortunately for you, you're not the manager.
  24. Glad to hear they don't think it's anything serious. Great news.
  25. I can usually sit back and figure out why the team makes certain moves, but calling up Walker has me stumped. Is it because Tampa Bay and Baltimore are loaded with lefties? That's the only thing I can come up with as a possible reason. We are six days into a string of sixteen consecutive games without a day off. That may play into it.
