QUOTE(mreye @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) Wait a minute. You included the Daytona 500 with all those other sports? I NEVER said anything about it being a sport. Just something people bet on.

Sox vs. "Insert Location"Angels "Location?"
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) I think at some point during the season, everyone will picture what it would be like to have Vladdy in a White Sox uni... I'm sick today, so I get to see B-Mac. First time I'll actually get to sit down, no distractions, and watch the kid pitch. Lucky you!

Frank Thomas condition
QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) I'm kind of out of the loop these days. What condition is big Frank in and will he be ready for opening day? And if not why do I seem to remember that he's already played some this spring? Frank has not played. There was a box score that had him listed as having played in CF in, I think, the very first game. He wasn't even in camp and he damn sure wasn't in CF. Frank will not be ready for opening day. Maybe, just maybe, late April or early May.

Bernie Ebbers
A possible 85 years sentence. Now, let's see what he really ends up with. I'll wager he spends less than 10 years in prison. Probably less than 5.

Willie over Iguchi?
QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 11:41 AM) KW is telling Oz to manage, I like that. KW is taking responsibility for the contracts, I like that. I love competition and if Ozzie believes Harris is the starter, I like the fact that KW has given OZ the green light to play a guy based on merit not paychecks. I read that quote and I thought, "Of course, that's the way it should be." But way too often it's not. That was something I kind of took for granted. But actually. it's something you RARELY hear from the front office, because they want to have their greasy mits on everything. Great post, Tex. It made me take notice and give it some thought.

QUOTE(mreye @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) Watch a pitchers arm in slow motion throwing a curve ball. It's unnatural. Hell, pitching over the top or 3/4 is considered unnatural.

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) I'm so glad to read stories like this. I hate when fans of womans basketball act like they could ever compete with men's/boy's teams. They are two different games, it doesn't make the woman's game any worse, it's just a fact What did you guys do? Just run them out of the gym or use physical play? Male chauvanist pig!

10 questions for Kenny
QUOTE(mreye @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 10:34 AM) I don't agree. The moves he's made that have back fired were good at the time save for Todd Ritchie. The Wells move was brilliant. Shingo. Uribe. Garcia. On and on. This team is one big question mark. I'm generally an optimistic type Sox fan, and I am again this year. But, there are a lot of "ifs" that need to fall our way.

10 questions for Kenny
QUOTE(mreye @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) Wow. A lot of pessimists. I don't think we should be down on Iguchi yet. Shingo sucked in ST last year too. I'm encouraged my KW's optimism and his confidence. I like his "tinkering." Oh, I can understand the pessimism. There are as many reasons to be pessimistic as there is for optimism.

piece on HBO's 'Real Sports'
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) I was watching a piece on Tommy John surgery last night. They were talking about how many teens and even younger kids are needing the procedure nowadays, some as young as 9 years old. This is mostly due to year round leagues which leads to overthrowing. Another reason is that more and more younger kids are throwing curve balls at a younger age. A Dr. on there said no one under the age of 19 should be throwing curves. Anyone have kids or coach little leagues? Not any more, but I always emphasized fastballs and change-ups. I wouldn't let my kids throw curves.

Lot of stuff on the terrorist front ...
There has been a major bust of people trying to acquire and smuggle missiles and the like into the US. Also, a DC post office has been closed due to a possible anthrax scare. Keep an eye on the news as things are sketchy now.
