I'm sorry people ... Use all the logic and political arguments you want. I feel that France has been anything but an ally and if somewone invades their pussy ass country, as far as I'm concerned, they can fight their own battles. They are not worth one drop of American blood.

I still say they can rot in hell. f*** france.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 10:32 AM) An all or nothing foreign policy will work. Any country that doesn't 100% capitulate to US policies, wants, and desires is cut off forever. That should stop any country from going against US. Why have all this power if we don't use it? I see you didn't bother with green type. I agree with you, in a convaluted type way. I don't want to use our power to bail out France's ass again. We've done it twice and they still don't appreciate it. As I said ... let them rot in hell. We'll save our power for true allies. Thank you.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 10:21 AM) Just an observation not necessarily about anybody on the board but just in general. It seems weird that it is deemed "patriotic" to call France a group of "cheese eating surrender monkeys" or "brie eating snail slurpers" but when somebody does it to the US, then its all of a sudden its wrong, evil, etc. etc. etc. If we can't take it, dare I say we don't dish it out. Just saying -- as a country, if we go about razzing other countries that aren't on board with our policies with insults etc., then its pretty thin skinned of us to not be able to take it in return. And I'm with Cerb -- I'd love for more of these to come out with Kerry and the rest of corporate whores in our government. C'mon who wouldn't like to take a leak on Rick Santorum or Tom Delay and the rest of the idiots. That's all well and good, until the next time an equivilient of the Gestapo is running France. When that happens, the French can rot in hell as far as I'm concerned.

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:56 AM) Why bother talking common sense.. it falls upon deaf ears unless it's a KW slam. :banghead

QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:52 AM) Laffo, that's pretty funny. Truth be told, if I entered a bathroom and saw a "Piss on Me: John Kerry" sticker, I'd probably do it quite eagerly. But then the sticker would probably lecture me for several minutes. f***. You mean you'd do it liberally!

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:48 AM) Congratulations on your 1,000 post slamming Kenny!! Not many people have the tenacity to post the same thing over and over again!! Way to Go. $2mil for Frank? I guess you don't want him. You don't want to reward loyalty, you don't want your #1 draw, you don't want the only guy who will be in Cooperstown wearing a White Sox cap the past 20 years. :headshake It seems like some people think we can put a bunch of $2mil a year guys out there and win something. If you load the team with all average players, you will get average results. Also, without some star drawing power, the casual fans aren't coming out to the game. So you could trade away anyone who ever makes an All-Star game to wins a post season award, but it costs you in the end. Imagine a promotional campaign built around Joe Crede and Russ Gload. Yeah! Now that's not true! He wants to pay for Orlando Cabrera. :headshake

Who does Ben Gordon remind you of?

Jordan was one of a kind. Period. Any comparisons of Jordan to anyone on a basketball court are ridiculous. -
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:41 AM) As long as Frank comes back for 2mil a year I be happy on keeping both. 2/7 of our payroll is realistic, 20 mill of a 70 mil payroll, I don't see JR raising that, unless we have a huge attendance this year. The only good thing if we do rebuild it should be with a new GM.. something that should have taken place 2 years ago IMO. You're opinion ain't worth the screen space it's written on .... IMO.

QUOTE(mreye @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) Funny you should post this today. I just yesterday finished a 754 page Biography about George Washington. Tough read, but very interesting and informing. I had never known that he freed his slaves and wanted all slaves to be free until I read this book. I knew he had slaves, though. Why is that? Spin?

QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 08:22 AM) Barry was a HOF-caliber player before that, although maybe not "one of the best [ever]." It's unfortunate that he felt the need to tarnish his reputation towards the end of his career. The point was that he said still one of the best players even without steroids and I'm saying there is no way he can know that he is if Bonds has been on the juice for 5 years. He may have been one of the best, but Bonds may also have been a shell of his former self by now without steroids.

I thought it was worthy for SL&P. This is part of America's past and culture. Washington played a huge part in laying the foundation upon which the United States was built. Sometimes, America's heroes need to remembered as more than an excuse for a three day weekend.

The following was written by Thomas Sowell. Capitalism Magazine. February 19, 2002. I just ran across this tonight, so pardon the fact that it's a day or two late. The author: http://www.capmag.com/images2y346y/people/thomas_sowell.jpg

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 08:56 AM) If a woman ever cut off my missile, I'd use the same knife to kill both of us. Game over. Kill her and claim self defense. What more proof could you need?

This will get the s*** hitting the fan.

It would serve the NHL and the NHLPA right. They don't seem to give a crap about the cup.

QUOTE(soxhawks @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 09:28 PM) i love barry, i think he still is one of the best players even without roids. i love how he takes no s*** from the media assholes. How do you know he's one of the best without roids? He's been on them since for the past 5 years.

QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) Well, if an insect flew into the batter's face, or a hot dog wrapper blew across the plate or if someone ran onto the field, the umpire would of course call time. It's just the interminable "pitcher looks in, gets the sign, sets, starts windup, batter asks for time, time is granted" crap that happens seemingly every AB. It's annoying, it's unfair to the pitcher and the fans and it doesn't matter in the game since it helps/hinders both teams equally. Baseball is the only game with unlimited timeouts. That makes zero sense. The thing is, if you implemented the timeout rule, and the rule about the batter's box that initially started the discussion, you would notice that the games were faster, but you wouldn't really notice why. Why do Nomar and Chuck Knoblauch (just to name two) have to step out after every pitch and mess with their gloves, jerseys, etc. Play baseball, for Pete's sake. There's also the problem of the pitcher just not delivering the pitch. A batter can only stay primed and ready for so long until he loses concentration. The delays are one thing, but not allowing a batter to call time won't work.

QUOTE(Tmar28 @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 06:34 PM) he's got pee stains on his knees. I don't think Iguchi's ever been to Wrigley Field.
-
Willie Harris seems to be a square peg trying to fit into a round hole. He just doesn't matchup with what this team needs right now.
-
I was noticing on that picture of Iguchi about to make contact as he swings .... check out where his eyes are looking. He's not following the ball all the way to the bat.

QUOTE(JimH @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) I'm going to try and be as polite as possible here, but this is a stupid post. I get the sense you're just trolling for an argument, knowing you'll get one with such a far fetched off-the-wall statement like this. When you actually try to, you post some really good things and your knowledge of the game comes through. But stuff like this is just drivel and it ruins the threads. Which is the vast majority of what his posts represent.
