I totally beg to differ. Sosa was one helluva prospect. He had a couple of years of big league experience that hadn't turned out too well. But Sosa was a potential five tool guy and had a ton of talent. That's why Larry Himes traded for him twice. I guess that technically a propect is a minor leaguer, but I feel different about that. A guy that has talent, but hasn't put it together at the big league level is still a propect in my eyes. I believe to many around here want us call up "prospects" too soon, and then are way ... No ... WAY ... too quick to bail out on them when they don't produce like Albert Pujols. I say leave the in the minors ... let them learn how to play the game with their brain as well as their talent ... then bring them up. Keep the from ages 25-31 as arbitration eligible but not free agent eligble players ... and have them through their prime.

I'd just hang on to it for a while. Consider the jersey on "suspension." Never, ever put your own name the back of a jersey. You might as well say ... "Hey! I'm a dork." Fisk, Ventura, Aparicio, Fox, Thomas, John, Horlen, Peters, Allen .... any of those guys would be good on a Sox jersey. But then, I've always been partial to Tommy John, Joel Horlen and Gary Peters, so maybe that's just me.

Comparing position by position is a good way to compare yeams. It gives you a head to head comparison ............ IF you are talking defense. Then compare the line up batter by batter. Finish up by comparing rotation, bullpen and bench.

They sure didn't want to make a head to head between Corey (the second coming) Patterson and Aaron (Who's he?) Rowand.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 09:33 AM) LOL! I bet he tried just that and got shot down. That explains it then. he couldn't admit being shot down, so he had to blame the cops.

He's not getting much sympathy, is he?

QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 06:09 AM) For 6 years I have been doing the job and seems like every day that I hear something or see something new that makes me shake my head in disbelief. And after reading your post, today is no different, and it's my day off. shagar, I don't know where your at and I can't speak for the police force there, but you got off easy. I hope when you sober up and read this today, you realize how stuid that really was. I'm very thick skinned, so the f*** the police comments and everything else do not bother me. But, I will never figure out stupidity. Sorry for the rant, but I'm just shaking my head :headshake Don't take that example of the ignorance of youth personally. Yet, it's something that shouldn't be brushed aside or excused because of that youth. I'm glad you gave him that rant. He had it coming, and some day he'll realize it. As for those of us that have been around while, know that you are appreciated for the service and protection that you provide to your community.

I am just so totally stunned by this. So many people think oil is the big corporate thief. Look at this industry. Hell, they put you in the hospital when you get sick as an elderly person, give you all these treatments that don't really make a damn bit of difference, keep you alive long enough to use up your insurance and any estate you might have, then let you die.

Well ... I think this thread speaks for itself. :headshake

You guys just cannot stand that there is a television station that gives the conservative viewpoint. For the first 30 or so years of my life, you could not get this point of view from radio or TV unless it was on "Meet the Press" or similar show. Of course, you'd had to listen to the liberal rhetoric as well. I think it's about damn someone started putting it out there and making all the left wing dings squirm.

Just a guess here. But since "Lamb of God" is term commonly used to represent Jesus Christ, they felt it was innappropriate to be used in any other way. Since, they own the venue they have every right in the world to do what they did.

We'll see how these NHL'ers feel about this type of thing when the owners bring in replacement players. -

The reason the Brewers won't sign Sheets to a multiyear deal is that he had back surgery over the offseason. They want to see if he can hold up over a few starts. Maybe we should use caution as well.
