3E8 --- I apologize. I overreacted. That comment got all over me when I read it. That having been said, you still have no clue as to what it means to be a parent and therefore are in no position to judge anyone on that matter. Steff --- Thanks for taking my back, but I did jump the young man's s*** a bit too emphatically. He didn't deserve what I dished out. SuperSteve --- I am not an advocate of violence. Not by any stretch of the imagination. If you knew me personally, you'd agree with the above statement, I'm sure. Having said that, there are times when violence is the only answer. Some people do not understand anything else. The saying "A man has to do what a man has to do." applies here.

Who would you rather have as starting 1B-man?
YASNY replied to Wise Master Buehrle's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This poll is irrelevent. If Konerko and Gload are on the '05 Sox, PK is the starting firstbaseman. End of Story. -
You can bet your ass that any Magglio signing will be contingent on him passing a physical. Though the way Boras is handling this, it's like he certainly has something to hide. I cannot see how Boras's actions are in Magglio's best interest.

Don't forget the shrinking head and body.

Stick a fork in Henderson. He's done.
-
In my opinion, Jose Contreras is a bigger question mark than Jon Garland. If both remain with the Sox, I predict Garland has a better year and move ahead of Contreras in the rotation.

I was glad to see that Gload got a little recognition.

Clarett rips into OSU, tells all
YASNY replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I'm shocked. -
Steff, I totally have to agree with you. I'd beat somebody to a bloody pulp, at a minimum, before it went to the police just to be sure that some degree of justice was served. And whatever the consequences of my actions, I'd live with them .... happily.

That's a helluva concept, asjking when you don't know something as opposed to spouting off when you don't have a clue. I commend you for realizing that as a young adult you don't know all there is to know about everything. Keep that attitude, you will find it to be beneficial to you in the long run.

Yes. An 8 year old can get an erection. They are called "baby boners". It happens.
-
I repeat. Shut the f*** up. You still don't know s***. Most 8 year old kids don't have a clue about sex, what it means or what it entails. Sure, there was "something odd" about the perpetrator, but the kid isn't going to know that and it was hidden from the kid's parents. There is no way any 20 year old can have the slightest grasp about what it means to raise a child and the difficulties you face as the child is growing up. This is not about maturity and age, it's about the knowledge one acquires with life's experiences. You don't have that knowledge yet. Until you do, at least on this particular subject, you have no basis to judge anyone as an unfit or bad parent. So stop acting like you actually have a f***ing clue. You don't.
-
Just asking here but ... How do you know this was terrorists as opposed to a natural outbreak?
-
He will if they pay him enough and give control. The Bears wouldn't do that.
-
Who in the hell are you to judge anybody's qualifications as a parent? According to your profile you are all of 20 years old. If you are a parent you are just beginning the process and have no clue what you are going to run into in that role. Talk to me in 25 years and maybe you will be qualified to judge someone's parental abilities. Until then, stfu. You don't know s***.

Now tell me why would any GM make a trade with KW where KW "wins the trade overwhelmingly"? Williams: Hey man, have a heart. I'm under a lot pressure from greg775 to make a trade that we win overwhelmingly. I need your help. DBacks GM: greg775? Why didn't you say that earlier? I'll give you Johnson for Grilli and pay the difference in salary. How's that? Williams: Could you throw in Brandon Webb?
-
That seems to be an elusive concept to grasp around here for some reason. :rolly

I like that Lieber idea too. In fact, I like it better than trading PK, JG and prospects for Randy Johnson. Especially if he wants another year at $16 million taked on to his contract.

Rotoworld's predictions on AL rosters for 2005!
YASNY replied to santo=dorf's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Just glancing through this rotoworld article, I see they have Hairston ending up in Minnesota and the Rangers getting J. D. Drew. -
Various interesting tidbits from around baseball: * The general managers meetings are this week in Key Biscayne, Fla., and rumors are again floating about the Pirates trading catcher Jason Kendall to San Diego. Reportedly, the Padres are offering first baseman/outfielder Ryan Klesko. Klesko has two years and $16 million left on his contract and Kendall has three years and $34 million remaining on his deal. *One pitcher who intrigues them (Cleveland) is Esteban Loaiza, who won 21 games with the White Sox in 2003. He fell to 10-7 this year, getting traded from Chicago to the Yankees." *The representatives for Red Sox closer Keith Foulke, meanwhile, told one autograph- show promoter he would want $10,000 per hour to appear. Life is good for the curse-breakers. *If and when the Diamondbacks arrange a deal for Randy Johnson, expect the lefthander to ask for an extension to his current contract, which runs through 2005. Given that he's 41, he'll take a deal for 2006 -- for about the $16 million he currently makes -- in return for waiving his no-trade clause. *Friends (of his, not ours) say Jon Lieber was peeved that the Yankees didn't pick up his $8- million option for 2005. We can't blame him. Now that Lieber is just another free agent, look for him to wind up elsewhere. Perhaps a reunion with the Cubs? *It's a real mess in Arizona and figures to get worse as the winter wears on. With the re-signing of Richie Sexson (for whom they gave Milwaukee six players) looking more and more unlikely, the D-Backs would seem to have no choice but to trade Randy Johnson and get whatever they can for him. The Cardinals, with a surplus of young, inexpensive pitching talent in Rick Ankiel, Danny Haren and Kiko Calero, look to be the best bet. *The Baltimore Orioles, Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers all are among the teams believed to have interest in Varitek, and each has the resources to make a legitimate bid, even with the Rangers having downsized in the post-Alex Rodriguez era. *If/when the Yankees get Beltran, they will look to move Kenny Lofton. The Phillies will be the first team they call... The Phils could also trade for a starter and will keep an eye on what the Yankees do with Kevin Brown."

Please no. I never want to see JQ on the field again. :banghead

Damn conservatives!

I have to say that the Bears totally blew me away today. Never would have thought they'd go to NY and win that game. I just love it when New York loses. ALCS, Election Day, Today.
