Do we have any potential E-LO's
Do we have a potential ELo? I don't believe anyone thought we had a potential ELo last spring. I guess that we are basically hoping lightning can strike twice.

WHY RIP MARRIOTTI WHEN WE DO THE SAME?
Sometimes Mariotti has good points, like his recent column about Reinsdorf. But he is such a Cub ass-kisser that at times it's sickening.

New invite to ST
Those were pretty impressive numbers in the Mexican League. Maybe, just maybe, he can be an asset to this team.

Koch Invigorated
Billy Koch is one of the bigger keys to this coming season. There are alternatives if Koch can't cut the mustard, but it would be nice if we didn't have to explose those options.

Kris Honel
Honel may very well turn out to be a star major league pitcher, but it's way to early to get excited about him. He still has a lot to prove.

Gay marriages ...
I guess it might be helpful if I linked the whole article. Daily Sothtown link

Gay marriages ...
This is quite a bold statement by Hizzoner. He was taught how to sidestep issues by the best of them, the original Mayor Daley.

Article on '84 Sox in Cubune:
Just think of all the b****ing and moaning when the Astros win the division and the Cardinals take the wild card.

Peter Gammons article
Jose didn't hit against lefties very often at all last season. I'm sure that had an effectiveness against them when he did have to hit from the right side. However, that was one area in which Manuel was correct, limiting Jose's RH AB's to as few as possible.

All sports talk radio in Chicago has been about:
My point in all of this is that because of the current Sox ownership, the "70's are over" as you put it. Let's see... when did JR and EE buy the team? Wasn't it prior to the 1980 season. Coincidence? I think not. These guys have alienated players and fans alike for 24 years now and they cannnot understand why the ballpark is not full? They actually have to be imbeciles to not be able to make the connection.

Josh Stewart: Anybody know his condition
I knew Stewart had been mentioned by various Sox sources recently. Though, I would guess that if he's going to start he'd have to build his stamina up somewhat. I'd guess he'd be ticketed for Charlotte unless he really turns some heads this spring.

How did Gagne lose his arbitration case
The reason he lost is that the Dodgers presented a case to the arbitors that Gagne should be paid $5M than Gagne's agent presented stating that he should make $8M. It's that simple. Both sides present their case and the arbitor picks which one he feels has more merit.

Where can Maggs go realistically aftre this year?
And what is wrong with saying that?

Maddux to Return To Cubs
I'd love to take 4 out of 6 from them and have them miss the playoffs by one game. Of course, the Sox winning the AL central by one game would sweeten it that much more.

The Pet Peeve thread
Nothing wrong with some tension relieving "f***ing".

Do you think there might be a little bias on Black Jack's part here?

Maddux to Return To Cubs
Welcome to Soxtalk! Now regarding your post. It would be great if it all happened the way you said it will. However, that is just speculation that everything that can go wrong will. But, then, we are talking about the Cubs, aren't we? Perhaps you have a point!

Dodgers Aiming For Konerko, Thomas
I'd hate to lose Frank Thomas, but if it means we resign Magglio .... so be it.
