Abso-f*ckin'-lutely. If Garland keeps his ERA under 3.80-4.00, we run away with the division. Unless the Twins self-destruct, we aren't running away with anything. If the Sox hang in there to win it, it will be a long tough battle. Have you seen the way the Twins have reacted this postseason? This winning has gotten to their head....like it did to us after 2000. I feel we will already win the division by atleast 5 games....and if Garland and/or Wright steps up.....we do run away with the division. And if it is the case of Garland and Wright....we are a 100 win team....easily. We could win 110 games for cryin out loud. And if Rauch puts up solid numbers out of the #5 spot(10-12 wins, 4.50 ERA, 150-200 innings), we are probably the best team in the majors...because we would have the most complete team in the majors. If both Wright and Garland pitch well....we win the division by ATLEAST 15 games....if not more. Dude.... you're getting carried away here You have to remember one important fact here.... it's that we root for the White Sox! Things happen to us.... The Sox were the best team in the majors in '83, and we blew the ALCS to the Orioles. We were also the best team in the majors in '94.... then our own owner forced a strike. I've been a Sox fan for over 40 years and have seen too many things inevitably go wrong.

I think this was an amazingly fortunate pick up for us. He strikes out too much, not much of an OBP guy, but he does supply that lefthanded power that we so sorely need.

That degenerative hip basically ended Belle's career. He was a surly SOB, but he sure could hit.

We have no need for Mike Morgan. Not that I don't respect what he's done in his career, but, he doesn't fit with our needs.

Maggs has the potential to win the triple crown. And it wouldn't surprise me if he did it this year.

I see no reason why we can't beat the Twins.

I don't have a problem with JM. In fact, I thought he was a big reason we won the division in 2000. However, this year, the team has the horses and I expect nothing less than a division championship.

Wow... what an interesting discussion with such a wide variety of opinions. So, let mt throw a little more gas on the fire. Regarding France, yes, they were instrumental in helping us win the "rebellion" or Revolutionary War. And yes, they did have their own agenda in mind. They certainly didn't do it for any idealistic reasons about weather or not we should have taxation without representation. So, even given the fact that they did help us win our liberty , we have, in the past century, at least helped them preserve, re-establish is probably a more appropriate word, their liberty. We have paid that debt twice over, already. Then, we bailed them out in Nam. If France is our ally, then I don't want anymore like them. You young guys that are screaming fight, but say you won't join.... you have that right. But, know that you have that right because those others that have joined, and the ones that came before them, are and/or were defending that right for you. And remember this too .... if this war turns sour on us, you just might end up being drafted and putting your ass on the line whether you want to or not. I'm a Chicago White Sox fan, not a Frank Thomas fan... I do care what he says if it can negatively affect the team. I wish he'd just shut up.

All that the Twins were saying is that the Sox need to shut up and prove it on the field. I happen to agree with them. THEY are the AL Central Champs, not us.

I've been saying that Jose is a valuable asset to us when he's at short. I'm glad some others are starting to recognize that fact. Jose is a WINNER!

In general, I believe you guys are expecting too much from Crede for his first full season. We've got the sticks around him to carry him, so if he hits .260-15-65 and gives us good leather work, it should be good enough.
