  1. Scarface is just en fuego right now.....between the hardware from last year's World Series and his play this year, I want to start hearing the "MVP" chant at The Cell.
  2. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 08:05 PM) I wonder what is causing his problems lately. Ever since the DL stint, he hasn't looked like the old Jose. He hasn't had his forkball, and this goes back to before he was on the DL. He really hasn't had his forkball all year with the exception of his first 3 starts or so, making his numbers even more impressive.
  3. Well it could be a lot worse than 2 for Detroit right now.....but it could be a lot more than 1 for us. It's pretty obvious that neither of the 2 teams are playing well at all at the moment, hopefully we can keep fighting and get another win here.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 07:55 PM) You conveniently forget that the Tigers had 1st and 3rd, no outs...and didn't score. And we had 1st and 2nd, no outs...and didn't score.
  5. Way to go guys......that's a run given away. Let's hope it doesn't get us later.
  6. Way to go guys, yet another EASY RBI situation wasted. Now Jim will have to do it the hard way.
  7. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 07:48 PM) Ive never seen PODS with Opposite field power like that. Verlander supplied most of the power there methinks....
  8. I don't wish injury on anybody, but if Monroe is out for a few weeks then I'll live with it. Thames would play in left if he's out for any extended period? Or will they keep him at DH and play Gomez?
  9. Well Monroe saved a base and (for the moment) a run...but we're tied, RBI triple for Pods, and it's 1-1 with a man on 3rd and 1 out.
  10. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 05:05 PM) My Caption: "Just shoot me now!" "We must stay the course in Iraq, and never forget 9/11". (although, that would be the caption regardless of the photo since it's all Bush says).
  11. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060607/ts_nm/life_coulter_dc I don't wish death on people, but in Man Coulter's case it might be for the best if she suffered it....
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 05:11 PM) I have it on good authority he'll be going to the highest bidder. Make that 2 of us that have it on good authority. The guy I'd look for next in the class of 2007 is Evan Turner or Brokeith Pane.
  13. His stuff was horrid last night based on what I saw during Sox commercials. That homer to Berkman might not have landed, it was Pujols-esque. Something is wrong, and I wonder if he'll ever be Kerry Wood again in terms of his raw stuff.
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 05:44 PM) When did you mention this and who jumped on you? Most everyone has speculated about Clemens and I don't see anyone jumping on you unless you worded it a certain way or your statement carried another meaning. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=50562 There you go. Even a mod jumped all over me. Sorry boys, looks like your hero Clemens might be a cheater after all.
  15. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 05:42 PM) Wasn't Jason Grimsley also the guy who tried to break into the umpire's room at Comiskey to replace Albert Belle's corked bat? If my memory serves me correctly (and I think it does), he was the guy on cleveland that was skinny enough to get into the air conditioning vent to try and steal the bat. what a cheater That is correct, and he actually did get the bat. I also believe he replaced it with a non Belle bat, which made it obvious. When asked about why he didn't just use another Belle bat as the replacement, he said "because Belle had all his bats corked". Good times.
  16. Oh, and well said Kalapse. Agreed on everything you've said in this thread, couldn't have said it better myself.
  17. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:34 PM) Wasn't Grimsley also a teammate of a certain pitcher who is very large, in his mid 40's, who recently signed a contract, and is still bringing gas ? If you look at Grimsley, you probably would have never guessed he was juicing from looking at his body or his performance. I think this goes to show there are or at least were a ton of guys juicing you wouldn't have suspected, including White Sox players. Roger Clemens on steroids? HOW DARE YOU!! After all, when I suggested as much last week, everybody jumped on me. No way he could be doing something illegal!! :rolly 2 names in that thing are Clemens and Sosa, guaranteed just based on reading the affadavit. After that, who knows.....I can't wait to see what is behind that black marker though.
  18. Tracey can't be worse than Politte, there is no way. So in that sense, not bad news and let's hope Tracey does well and isn't put into tough spots.
  19. Win now, worry later. They call them prospects for a reason, the reason being they MIGHT be good. I'll take a guy that I know is good over that anyday of the week.
