GT - 7/3/10 - Pale Hose @ Alex 7:05 CT

Just get one of the next two. Winning a series in Texas would make up for losing one in Kansas City. -
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 01:35 AM) I like how they're basically trying to guilt him into staying. They kind of have to. There is literally NO reason for him to stay there other than the extra money they can offer in the contract, which he could more than make up for off the court in a place like Chicago or the NY/NJ area or even Miami.

If Bosh and Wade are teaming up, there is a better chance of it happening here than Miami since Amar'e isn't going down there and neither is LeBron, plus Noah and Rose are already here and Miami is depleted. At least that's my opinion on the subject. I just hope if the Bulls have a real shot at those two, they take them and don't look back. Don't get caught waiting for LeBron and ending up empty handed because odds are he's not coming here.

Good pitching and just enough offense. It's been the common formula in a lot of our wins, and we're just going to have to hope it's a formula succesful enough to win this division. Freddy has done a wonderful job this year, and so have the important guys in our bullpen.

Ozzie's pet with a WTP ball for the 2nd straight game in a close and late spot. I think he should start the next 50 games as a result. -

My biggest problem with Hawk now is he's too into his own schtick. He doesn't just announce the game enough, he almost think he has to be "Hawk" at all times. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:24 PM) And then blame those players for thinking too much We seem like the only organization out there that just always blames the players, when at some point we need to realize it's the fault of the people who keep drafting, signing, and attempting to develop/maintain these players. Thatta boy PK. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:17 PM) Ozzie would make an excellent NL manager, and I'm not even saying that to be mean. Absolutely agree 100 percent. I don't think he'll ever be much of a manager in the AL though, although he always has that ring to argue otherwise I suppose. Yuck Omar. -

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:15 PM) Because I think everyone is expecting them to go 4-9 after that and go into the break about 5 out and at .500 instead of actually playing good the rest of the way. The pitching was not going to keep it up in the AL. NL teams were using the PH as a DH which is what the Sox do nightly. Exactly. We'd be a really good NL team. That's not a great strategy when you play 144 against the AL though. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:12 PM) Just pray KW doesn't sell the farm for a team that needs way more than one addition. I'm not convinced this farm can be fixed with him in charge. -

Only the Sox could make an 11 game winning streak not 100 percent enjoyable. -
Yeah Bosh has definitely been the worse. I haven't been a huge fan of Wade's handling of it either (I guess I just don't like the tweeting at a time like this). I'm willing to deal with the way Bosh has handled it though if he'll sign here.

I also find it funny that very few people in our fanbase completely bought in after the NL streak. I can't decide if that shows how smart we are, or how pessimistic we are. -

I have no freaking idea how this team went 15-3 against the NL. I know the NL sucks (although not as badly this year) and we had some weak competition, but this team just does not have the offense to put up stretches like that. Certainly not against AL offenses because we just won't get the pitching against them that we did against the NL. If we're going to add a bat, it'd better be a big one and we'd better do it soon if contention is on our minds. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 10:54 PM) We're headed for baseball hell...78-83 or so wins Well not only that, but there is a lot of unhappiness among important people in our organization right now. -

If it's possible for an organization in the middle of a pennant race to be a mess, we've pulled it off. -

I think it's pretty clear there is more pressure on KW within the organization than there is on Ozzie. I'm a little concerned he'd overpay to try and make it look like he's giving Ozzie the tools to win this year. -
LeBron is the only person of the big three that has seemed to really respect how important of a decision this is. If nothing else, I credit him for that.

Freddy has been really good this year. He had the two awful starts against Toronto and Florida early on, but otherwise he's been outstanding. -

Firing Lou is kind of pointless now because they're not going anywhere anyways and his contract is up, he just won't be back in 2011. What's interesting to see is if the Ricketts' have enough money to fire Jim Hendry. Nice play Gordo. We can live with your defense though since you have such a hot bat. -

The Reds uprising I've been prediciting for a few years now might finally be happening. If they can just get a little better work from their bullpen, they could be in the playoffs. It seems like Gordon just gets no carry on flyballs to the outfied. Combine that with his issues on high pitches, and I wonder if there is some sort of injury which is hurting his bat speed and general strength right now. Anybody who sees me post knows I'm critical of Beckham and don't make excuses for him, but I wonder that sometimes. -

Hey fathom, enjoy the last 3 innings of the Cubs game today? It's frightening to think we don't even have the worst offense in our own city. -

That hurts, I thought Alex was going to get to it. Pitch needed to be lower and further away, just a mistake. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 10:24 PM) 101, IRC, they made the infield a little slower in Texas this season. KC's was like playing on concrete though. Yeah, that makes sense with the emphasis on pitching Nolan Ryan has. We'll see how slow they can keep it when it's late July and early August, 105 degrees, and there's no tropical rainfall in the area.
