  1. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) What dynamite play? He just took a walk OMG! what is Torre doing? recognizing when his starter is tiring and pulling him before he can give up 3 or 4 runs? I have never seen such a thing!
  2. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:49 AM) I wouldn't mind Konerko sitting out another day or two. He's been garbage recently, completely in his homer-or-bust mode. And Gload deserves a reward for his heroics yesterday. Not to sound bad...but Konerko last nite in the 9th would have hit a double play... Gload in Konerko's spot for a few games isn't a bad thing
  3. My grade is an A -..... 2nd best record in baseball.. 26 games over .500... 6 game lead for Wild Card... Great Fan Support....(almost 1.8 million before All Star Break !!) Yes - this team has problems as does EVERY SINGLE TEAM IN BASEBALL..but we are 26 games over .500 - only 2 off of last years pace and I don't even think they have played their best baseball yet...
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 02:42 PM) Yikes. This thread just got dirty. I am sorry - but Ozzie is a 41 year old man - not an 8 year old. Yes - this is being blown out of proportion, Ozzie could have used a different term, it does have a different meaning in other counties, etc... However, just because a microphone is placed in your face or a reporter asks a question does not mean you can just go and speak without thinking. I work in a bank downtown that gets very busy, customers are rude, people are rude, etc. I lose my temper several times a day. But you know what? I am 34 - not 6 and have something called self control. Just because I am upset or someone annoys me, etc. doesn't mean I use four letter words, throw a tantrum or pound my fists because that is something you should have learned about in Kindergarten. Ozzie is a great manager and a great baseball man - but you know what - learn when to SHUT UP when appropriate..it is not funny, it is not cute, it is not excusable unless you are a five year old. The Sox should discipline him, the news has every right to trash him. If you can say whatever you want without and do what you want - then be prepared to suffer the consequences like an adult. I am not going to defend him just because I love the White Sox and he is their manager when he is wrong.
  5. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 04:56 PM) I did with my sister a couple of years ago, but I think it was more Willie Harris and Carlos Lee though. But she's still a fan even with out them here. My 6 year old niece is (was) a Cubs Fan..(my brother in law is a Cubs Fan).. My sister's office had a Sox outing Saturday and we took my niece (it was her first baseball game).. Now she loves the White Sox and has a White Sox teddy bear. It was a 6 year old - not an adult - who switched from Cubs to Sox so I don't know if that really counts...
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 02:16 PM) Tony, plenty of us are at most games. Just toss up a post when you're going and where you're sitting and someone is likely to meet up with ya. Thanks! I have the Ozzie plan so I will be going soon (Card on 6/20)
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 01:44 PM) You were at the game with most of them last year. They are the ones you were talking s*** about thier mommies driving them to the game. I'd like to go..I am the only Sox fan in a family of Cubs fans and most of my friends are Cubs Fans. I am tired of going to games by myself unless it is at Wrigely then they will go with me. Let me know if this happens. Everyone have a great weekend! Go White Sox!!
  8. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 10:12 AM) My question to all of you is ......................... Would anyone be interested in a Patio Party? this website would get a discount on admission. I will lead this if enough of you want to go. Yes- I would be interested...my office is going to one on Sunday too....
  9. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 22, 2006 -> 01:35 PM) From Scott Reifert's blog yesterday: I mentioned in a earlier post, but we do have a video tribute planned for tomorrow night (pregame) when Frank Thomas returns to Chicago with the Oakland A's. We also have a special little tribute planned that we hope Frank and our fans enjoy one last time. FYI- Called to buy tickets..tonight's game is a sell out...
  10. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 06:13 PM) Exactly. Jenks is not fat ! He is "stocky" Okay - he's fat
  11. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) While I don't dislike the blue seats, I definitely prefer the green. I don't think many complained about the blue seats because it made the park look drab. I think the problem is that it just looked cold, so to speak. It never seemed to have that welcoming, old-time baseball feel to it. Which is exactly why I prefer the green seats. I may be wrong, but the old ballparks as I remember them always had green seats. I'm not sure if it makes it look better. It just makes it look like the way it should be, if that makes any sense. Either way, its really a dopey arguement. Its all a matter of personal preference. The only thing I'll argue with is the whole "copying Wrigley Field" s***. Its not like they started the usage of green seats. If we wanted to make it like Wrigley, we'd make the place smell like urine and sell crappy food. Either way, as long as there are people sitting in them, it really doesn't matter all that much. Looking at the old pictures I prefer the green seats. Also - the best part of the renovations was removing the top rows of the upper deck and placing the steel canpoy over. Honestly the old upper deck looks as if a flying saucer landed in the stadium. I was one of those who didn't think the New Comiskey deserved the criticisms it had...but since these renovations - the park does look a hundred times better and the game does have a different feel now than it did in maybe 1998, 1994 or 1991 (more cozy).
  12. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 12:54 PM) Unboleeevable!!! Happy Birthday Ozzie ! Feliz Compleanos Ozwaldo!
  13. As everyone probably knows..opening day is now Sunday, April 2nd at 7:05 pm. We have the national opening game. I wisely scheduled a vacation day from work on Monday and responsible will be taking public transportation... I am attending opening day with two buddies of mine. We have attended opening day since 2002. Last year we went to Catcher's Inn, then walked over to Puffers - went to the game and hit Jimbo's and Punchinello's afterward. We decided since this opening day will be a special one for life long White Sox fans, we have decided to start this day early (about 11:00). We plan on circling the neighborhood and hanging around the ballpark with other fans before attending the game just to make the day last. 11:00 am to 11:00 p.m? Here are our plans 11:30 to 12:30 Catcher's Inn 12:30 to 2:30 Puffer's 2:30 to 4:30 Jimbo's 4:30 to 6:00 Punchinello's 6:15 we enter the ballpark Anyone is invited to join us. The only qualifications are that you are over legal drinking age and of course you have to worship the White Sox !!! Although we will be hitting many spots, try not to get too drunk before the game..remember this is national Television and you want to be sober enough to remember the moments of opening day. The only thing we hope for is a win !!! (and maybe no rain)... Go Sox !
  14. QUOTE(JoeBatterz @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) Supposedly the color blue makes it easier for both the batters and fielders to pick up the ball. So they said at the time. Blue is the default color of plastics...it was less expensive.. Other colors cost more to manuafacture. Think of purchasing a car and asking for a bright red for a model instead of the grey or silver.

    The Cell

    QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) Is there any articles or websites that anyone knows of that have a detailed description of the upgrading of the Cell since they began construction? I havent been there since everything started, so I was looking for something with pictures. I know there is alot to it. Go to WhiteSoxInteractive.com and click on Photo Gallery then choose 'New Comiskey' There are great pictures of the stadium this season..
  16. I know they own the Cubs..but they have done a great job giving the Sox their props this October (better than the Sun Times)...
  17. If the sox do win will Ozzie come back next year? He said he would retire.. I would hate to see him go..do you think he would stay?
  18. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) 2nd Half Count: 10-2. 3.02 ERA Mark: 6-5, 4.07 ERA kthxbye YES !!!! JOSE should !!!!
  19. Keep this thread going !! Everyone a hell yeah Jose !!!
  20. Go Orioles ! Go Blue Jays ! Go Devil Rays !
  21. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 12:58 PM) No, not at all. The day the Sox season is over, I will be thinking about what this team should do in the offseason. Being a die hard baseball/Sox fan means Sox for 12 months of the year. I will obviously watch more Bears/Hawks/Bulls games, but the Sox are far and away my passion, and I dont want it to just "be over" If it is over and they make it I will be happy.. If Sunday comes and they miss it - I will be dissappointed for a day or so and get over it - life goes on... But I will be relieved either way that it is over (even if they do miss it ) as I can finally relax and concentrate/enjoy other things... But yes - come Sunday, it will be a relief either way...
  22. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 12:31 PM) 94-61 CWS: 4@DET, 3@CLE 92-64 CLE: 3vTBD,3vCWS 91-64 BOS: 4vTBJ,3vNYY 91-64 NYY: 4@BAL,3@BOS 85-70 OAK: 4vLAA,3@SEA 89-66 LAA: 4@OAK,3@TEX tie WC: 2 more wins. win WC: 3 more wins. win ALC: 4 more wins. win ALHF: 5 more wins. Also subtract any games the Red Sox and Yankees lose before they play each other... NY (4 with Bal) BOS (4 with Tor) So - hope Baltimore and Toronto manage to win just one game of each 4 game series..then 2 wins would secure wild card..
  23. tony72

    Question

    If the White Sox lost the division, but still won the wild card - would you consider that a collapse? I personally would not. If the Sox won 96 games and the Indians 97 - but the Sox still made the playoffs, I would consider that a success. I would be happy with the wild card and seeing October baseball.
  24. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) Please do not let this opportunity get away!!
  25. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) He just doesn't like me. He only brings it up when i talk s*** about the sox struggles but no one else ( even though nearly everyone else is). How can Dan Walker have a job? There is obviously something wrong with the techniques of our hitters...
